Obviously I think I can say We're all very disappointed but health issues come first!   ......but at least theres next year

Huge disappointment.  Does anyone know of the turn around time on refunds for VIPs b/c I can use these funds towards a family vacation with the wife and kids now maybe to Charleston, SC or something.

Every year you have put on a great event, which gets us all a little closer to a great & unique place in time & culture that would largely be lost in the past, relegated to a few messageboard posts or Observer write ups, but Fanfest, in this locale, and with your curatorial sensibilities, gives us all one weekend a year to experience our cultural mana: where the Midnights and RnRs drew rabid capacity crowds, where you don't mess with Ole & Gene Anderson if you see them at the 7-Eleven (cause they'll probably rip your head off), where heel managers got so much heat they sometimes had to run for their lives, and where real men drove the highways and byways of the Mid Atlantic to work the towns as heels and faces, all whilst the lucky fans could sit for hours in an non-airconditioned building during the oppressive heat of a Southern summer, with a hot dog and an ice-cold Coke in hand, and enjoy the action
 
Alas, its no problem....we'll do it next year, and it'll be even sweeter due to the gap. You know I haven't be able to attend Fanfest the last couple of years, due to a variety of unforeseen reasons....and a couple of these it actually killed me not being able to be there (I missed the Freebirds....I MISSED GORGEOUS JIMMY GARVIN!!). But its fine....role on Fanfest, Summer of 1983....oh wait, that's 2013....we'll just pretend like its 1983!!
 
So, August 2013, 150 years almost to the day after General Robert E Lee offered his resignation to President Davis over doing the job at Gettysburg, and 233 years after the British last marched into the Carolinas (the colonists actually did the first job - Vince McMahon take note when booking Brock Lesnar), we will reconvene on Charlotte....someone bring Hayes, Garvin & Kevin Von Erich for a Texas Q&A, and someone please bring some of those Smokey Bones coupons!! i really think the year off and yes i hate it will be bigger and better but first things first  greg price get yourself well 2 thing is if anyone has anything negative to say about no fanfest 2012 think of how lucky we really have been we have done it all almost we had a fanfest charlotte 04 fanfest thru to major storms 04 fayetteville fanfest nov 04 charlotte thats greg price busting his a$$ 3 times in 1 year to make us happy the show in fayetteville was a total challange cause of the back to back hurricanes that came thru then we move to august 05 fannfest rockville md 06 fanfest charlotte 07 08 09 10 charlotte nc fanfest 11 marriott bad street atlanta ga so theres no 12 well we just have to wait a year and i have no patience to wait another year but man up and get ready for fanfest 13 charlotte nc  back to having fun gettin together with all your friends that you have met on the boards facebook or in person at fanfest this could work out good take 2012 off maybe his engergy will gear back up and continue to do them its not about the people 1-100 we need a total of at least 350 vips bought by next year so i put a little challange  out to the ones who dont have there tickets yet  make sure you buy them and enjoy 2013  it could blow the roof off the hilton

Sorry to hear about your health problems and the Fanfest postponement!!  Your health is much more important and I wish you a very speedy recovery.  I was planning on attending this year after missing last year but the anticipation for 2013 will make it even better!!!  Take care, Greg and keep us posted on how you're doing!!

I met some wonderful people over the years at these events , good times , if I had to pick a favorite it would be Capital Legends , thanks for all great memories. RIP!

I think I speak for everyone when I say get your health together first!!  You have done so much for us all and now we shall do for you.  You have always treated us with respect and have given us shows that we all remember.  Take care of yourself first and I will be in touch with you.

We'll continue to use this thread to answer a few general questions about the postponement til next year. And I stress "general" because I will deal with the specifics of each individual via email.
 
As for questions asked in this thread previously......
 
The featured guest lineup for next year will start anew. No guests have been confirmed for 2013 yet.
 
If you have an existing hotel reservation for this August and won't be in Charlotte, please remember to cancel your hotel reservation.
 
If you have an existing hotel reservation for this August and would still like to stay at the hotel despite the postponement, your existing reservation will be honored by the hotel.
 
If you purchased a VIP for 2012, I encourage you to keep your number if you're able. You will move up in line (and get a lower VIP number,) if anyone in front if you cancels.
 
If you purchased a VIP for 2012, keep your number for 2013, and had already purchased airfare to come to Charlotte this August, we'll reimburse up to $150 airline change fee per VIP for those that can cancel and rebook your flights for next year.
 
If you purchased a VIP for 2012 and can't make it in 2013, you'll receive a refund.
 
Again, all individual details for each of our 210 VIPs will be handled via email. Thanks in advance for allowing me the time necessary to deal with everyone individually. I'm shooting for July 15 as a point in time when all questions should be answered, all issues should be resolved, all refunds received, etc. At that time, having known who stays in for next year, we'll be able to re-issue VIP numbers for next year.

Greg I really hate to hear about your illness but hope everything gets back to normal. I hate to see that NWA 12 is cancelled but I will definitely be in Charlotte next year. I do hope Magnum TA and a couple of the other guests that were supposed to be announced make it next year either way I know it'll be a great show.
