Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling Sanctioned by the NWA, the National Wrestling Alliance Taped at the studios of WRAL in Raleigh North Carolina on the 2nd of October 1982 Broadcasted throughout the Carolinas, Virginias and Cincinnati Ohio on the 6th and 7th of October Your referees for today’s broadcast are Tommy Young, Sonny Fargo and George Gadaski Your announcers for today’s show at the interview area are David Crockett and Bob Caudle Bob welcomes the wrestling fans to another great episode of Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. As promised last week we will see a matchup Ivan Putski and the Mid Atlantic Television Champion The Mighty Igor against the unified Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champions Ivan Kollof and Nikolai Volkoff with their manager Waldo Von Erich. We will see in action this week Billy Spears dangerous duo of The Great Kabuki and Mister Fuji. Jumbo Tsuruta with his manager JJ Dillon and his running buddy Paul Jones will be in action as well as the British team of Johnny Saint and Kendo Nagasaki. Let’s go to the ring for the opening contest. Mike Rotunda versus Tracy Smothers These two youngsters go back and forth in the opening contest with Rotunda catching Tracy in an airplane spin/spinning toe hold combo for the submission victory in 7 minutes.(Fargo) David and Bob are joined by the United States Champion Terry Allen, who looks a little worse for the wear. He is bruised and sore but he still points out that Dillon, Jones and Jumbo can’t get the job done. He has fought off all three of them and kept the belt. Soon he will be teaming with Rick Steamboat against the team of Tsuruta and Jones, as the girls squeal. He knows he can count on Ricky and they will sure that #1 and the Japanese sensation will get the fight of their life. COMMERICAL BREAK Bob welcomes the fans back and goes to the ring with tag team action. The Best of Britain (Kendo Nagasaki and Johnny Saint) versus Chris Hamrick and George Gulas Nagasaki uses his judo skills to keep Hamrick off balance and when Gulas gets in Saint and Kendo use double team maneuvers to pin him after a thrust to his throat by Kendo and fisherman suplex by Saint.(Gadaski) David and Bob are joined by the team of Nelson Royal and Johnny Weaver, who seem to be in only a slightly better mood than the past few weeks. Weaver says that the men they have been facing, the Kiwis and the Brits are solid wrestlers and great men to wrestle. All he and Nelson want to know is when they get either the Russians in the ring or Steamboat and Youngblood. Both teams want to run from them. Nelson says that they aren’t hard to find. They will be in the back, waiting for a match as they walk away. David says more tag team action is on the way after this commercial break COMMERICAL BREAK with Localized Promos David is joined by Billy Spears who is singing the praises of his men, Mister Fuji and the Great Kabuki. They ran off that ragamuffin Jimmy Valliant and his young friend Al Snow. David says that they will be back soon, as Spears brushes off that comment. Spears says that both Valliant and Snow will never come back after what Fuji and Kabuki did to them. If they do they will not be able to see well enough to bear his finely trained men. David throws it to the ring for the next contest as Spears goes to ringside. The Great Kabuki and Mister Fuji with Billy Spears versus Israel Mata and Jack Venneo Kabuki and Fuji have little trouble with Mata and Venneo. After a vicious savate kick from Kabuki finishes off Venneo Spears instructs Fuji to hold up Venneo so Kabuki can blind him with the green mist that caused Valliant’s eye injury. After Spears and Fuji dump Mata to the outside and get Venneo to his feet, the crowd explodes as Valliant and Snow hit the ring with steel chairs. Valliant still has an eye taped up , but Al is helping him all he can. They run off Spears Crew as Bob throws it to commercial.(Young) COMMERICAL BREAK David is joined by the still semi blinded Jimmy Valliant and his young sage Al Snow. Valliant said he and Al aren’t cleared to wrestle yet but he was NOT going to see another wrestler go through what he did. He has talked to Becker and Jimmy Crockett and he wants Fuji and Kabuki in the ring. Valliant knows he can trust his friend Al Snow and they will get revenge for all of the pain that Spear’s Crew has put them through. David throws it to the ring for the next contest on Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. Ray ‘Hercules’ Hernandez versus Kenny Jay The former Mid Atlantic Television Champion is dominant against Kenny. A submission victory is obtained via a full nelson in 6 minutes (Fargo). Bob says that our main event is next. COMMERICAL BREAK with localized promos Bob joins the main event in progress as the four men have been fighting as soon as they got to the ring. The Russian team has finally found a team that they cannot overpower in Putski and Igor. Putski is keeping Volkoff on his side of the ring and tagging in and out with Igor. Putski hits Volkoff with the Polish Hammer in the middle of the ring but before Gadaski can get a two count The Iron Sheik hits the ring and attacks Putski. Igor is thrown outside by Kollof and a triple team is going on with Putski until he is saved by Duggan, who clears the ring. Duggan is telling the crowd that he wants the Sheik and wonders if he will get him again, one on one. David thanks the fans for watching today and invites them to tune in next week for more Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. ROLL CREDITS FADE TO BLACK
