Dale Mann defeats Mike Stallings after catching him with a sleeper hold

**Dale Mann joins Tim Tyler at ringside. As Mann is catching his breath, Tyler welcomes him to ICW wrestling.**
.
[DM] It is good to be here Tim. ICW is where the competition is all heading and I intend to make it a great home.
.
[TT] I am sure you will. Now, next week I have heard that you are going to be in a match to crown the first ICW television champion.
.
[DM] You are correct and the man I have to beat is The Iranian Assassin and let me tell you Tim....he is a tough son of a gun but I think I can beat him. As a matter of fact, I know I can beat and let me tell you and the fans at home..it will be a done deal. Next week no Iranian Assassin will make it to the ICW television title. It will be mind for myself and the fans at home.
.
[TT] Huge words from Dale Mann. Good luck next week. Folks, we will be right back.

**After the commercial, “Gentleman” Saul Weingroff comes out with The Iranian Assassin. He tells Edgar Wallace that when he heard his son, George Weingroff was going to wrestle in the ICW, he was ecstatic. But then, he found out that his son is siding with that no good Lanny Poffo and gave Saul no choice but to disown George completely. Instead, the “Gentleman” went and found this devastating wrestler, this monster who hates the USA as much as Weingroff does. The Iranian Assassin has a reputation that has preceded him. He is already set up for a television title match and WILL be the first ICW champion. Then it will be the AWA world championship around his waist. Wallace reminds them that the Assassin has a match next to which Weingroff tells Wallace to watch what his Iranian Assassin will do. He tells . Dale Mann to watch from the back as well, at the carnage that will be left in the ring. **
.
.
.
The Iranian Assassin w/”Gentleman” Saul Weingroff defeats “Irish” Mickey Doyle after hitting Doyle with a loaded boot and wrapping him in the camel clutch. Saul comes in to the ring to congratulate his man and to pull him off. Iranian Assassin keeps yelling for Dale Mann to come in until Weingroff convinces his charge to go to the back.

**”The California Surfer” Steve Strong comes to ringside, flexing his huge arms. He blocks out Tim Tyler with his massive arms and chest.**
.
[SS] Have you ever seen anything so nice, Tim Tyler? So huge? Look at my arms. They are bigger than your head.
.
[TT] You are a physical specimen for sure.
.
[SS] Just “a physical specimen”? Try THE physical specimen. I am 6’4”, 285lbs and completely solid. I am a wall of muscle and let me tell you something... all these beer belly losers out there at ringside and at home just WISH they can look like me. Heck...their WOMEN wish their men could look like me. Not that there is that can make my waist look better, but let me tell you how I am going to make more attention head my way.
.
[TT] How is that?
.
[SS] Good job Mr. Announcer man... glad you asked. It is simple... I am going to wrap it with gold belts. It seems there is a Southeastern champion coming to the area and let me tell you.... that belt is going to be mine.
.
[TT] You don’t even know who the champion is. How can you be so sure you can beat the champion?
.
[SS] Look at me Tim Tyler. Look way up at me. There is no way I can lose.
.
**Strong flexes again as Tyler sends us to commercial. **

He tells the fans that coming up will be a straight up fight. The double tough team of Tojo Yamamoto & Gypsy Joe taking on a favourite of the crowd, Ron Sexton & Rick Connors and it will be a fight.**

**The Sheik is shown with his United States championship belt. He is seen demolishing such people as Abdullah the Butcher, Bruiser Brody, Carlos Colon, and more. A voice is played as well saying that the United States heavyweight champion will be coming to the ICW to defend the title. The voice explains that there will be bloodshed when The Sheik comes and that the destruction will be on the AWA and the promoter’s heads because The Sheik will never lose that US heavyweight title. The Sheik is coming and the carnage will begin next week.**

**Edgar Wallace tells the fans that it is time for the main event. In it we will see the exciting team of Lanny Poffo & George Weingroff taking on the team of Tony Falk & Ben Alexander. Tony Falk comes out and states that this match will be the first in a long line of victories. He tells Wallace to keep score because he is about to see greatness start.**
.
.
.
Lanny Poffo & George Weingroff defeat Tony Falk & Ben Alexander after Falk is hit with a moonsault style flip off the top rope from Poffo.

**Poffo & Weingroff come to ringside. Tim Tyler welcomes the popular team to ICW.**
.
[LP] Thanks Tim. It is great to be back in Kentucky. It has been a lot of years since I have been here but I have to say, it is great to be back.
.
[TT] You two have been traveling the world, teaming up and winning titles throughout North America, Lanny, you are a former world tag team champion as well.
.
[GW] That is something Lanny has done, but something we have been trying to do together. Most world tag teams ignore us. We have been chasing them all for years, The Briscos, Greg Gagne & Jim Brunzell, Lawler & Dundee.....heck...we even went to that ....other place and THEIR world tag team champions avoided us. But let me tell you something now..once we get those United States tag team titles, no world champions can avoid us. No world champions can decide not to face us because we will be the best tag team in the country.
.
[TT] George...your father has come out here and publically admonished you for your affiliation with Lanny here.
.
[GW] Look, Tim, it is simple. Lanny and I are a winning team. There has not been a territory we have teamed in, that we have not worn title belts. My father, I would rather not talk about him at this point, but mine and Lanny’s history speaks for itself.
.
[TT] Point taken and understood. Folks, this is a tag team to watch because as they have said, they win the gold everywhere they go and I can’t say ICW will be the exception.

**The show ends with Edgar Wallace recapping the action before saying goodnight to everyone.**

Great opening show. I've seen a little bot of ICW on tape and this feels like one of their shows. As you continue to build, I know the promotion will get better and better. Lanny and Weingroff would be a popular tag team in the area. Gentleman Saul will a problem for a lot of people. I am looking forward to the arrival of the Noble Sheik. Great Start!

Dale "TNT" Mann was in the main event of the first live card that I ever attended and it's great to see him in action. Don't think Rick Connor would be considered a young guy in late '82, he'd been around awhile by that point, but that's a minor quibble.

A very good opener. Just don't forget to have ICW hit the Lock & Dam Field in Vanceburg , KY(those were outdoor shows, maybe have them at the Lewis COunty High School gym in Vanceburg until springtime) , Community Center in Salyersville, KY and/or Memorial Gym in Hazard, KY(where my parents met at the wrestling matches many years ago).

Great nod to tradition in Mann being featured. Putting some heat between Saul and George at the start gives ICW it's first rivalry. Like the way you decided to go with it. Tojo and Joe were legit tough. I believe the U.S. title came into ICW in a similar way.

Can't wait for more here. Rousing start.

Really liked everything here.  Your usual very strong use of the announcers & promos and love the venues in the territory.

With next to ZERO knowledge of the territory - I am sure to learn a lot.  Great to see you have added some colorful gimmicks in a surfer & Iranian so far.  The southeast IMO can get a bit hokey or cartoonish with gimmicks, but it plays off well with the strengths of the many "country boy" types.

I have always been curious if Dale Mann did a "Billy Jack" character or just another ring name.  AND (obviously) I'm interested in what George Weingeroff's EYESIGHT was in '82.  I know he worked while quite blind at some point.  Gotta root for them partially sighted guys!
