PWF Hollywood Wrestling TV Taping 9/7
Oct 6th, 2012, 10:34pm

Pacific Wrestling Federation
presents
Hollywood Wrestling
September 7, 1982
Los Angeles, CA
Olympic Auditorium

Syndicated across southern California

Ring Announcer: Jimmy Lemmon
Referee: Johnny "Red Shoes" Dugan
Interviewer: "Judo" Gene Labell
Announcer: Jeff Walton

9/7 Edition

Professor Toru Tanaka & Riki Choshu defeated "Maniac" John Tolos & "Apache" Bull Ramos in 13 minutes when Choshu pinned Ramos following a lariat. Ramos appeared to be the weak link on his time, at least in Tolos' opinion. He gave his partner a piledriver after the loss.

A clip from last week's edition of PWF Big Time Wrestling was shown. Newcomer King Kong Bundy, egged on by his manager, the Grand Wizard, attacked Dick the Bruiser, giving him an avalanche against the ringpost and a piledriver on the floor.

Taped comments from the Grand Wizard were shown:

"Dick the Bruiser, you are now officially Dick the Bruised!" the Grand Wizard said. "You claim to be the most dangerous wrestler in the world, but thanks to big King Kong Bundy, you've been reduced the most dangerous man in traction. This man is 450 pounds of walking destruction!"

World Television Champion Billy Robinson defeated Kelly Kiniski in 7 minutes following the one-handed backbreaker.  Labell attempted to interview Robinson post match, but the champion just sneered and walked off.

Hiro Matsuda defeated the "Intelligent, Sensational" Destroyer in 17 minutes. Matsuda blocked a neck breaker attempt and hit a backslide for the pin. Afterwards, the Destroyer refused a handshake.

9/14 Edition

International Tag Team Champions "Wild" Bill & Scott "Hogg" Irwin wrestled Black Gordman & Great Goliath to a no-contest in 10 minutes. Dugan had no choice but to throw the match out once both teams started bringing chairs in the ring. The Irwins got the best of things, leaving Gordman and Goliath no excuse but to run from the ring.

"The last time we were in Los Angeles, we sucked up to all you beach bums," Bill said. "Well this time's going to be different!"

"We don't care what anybody thinks," Scott said. "We're gonna do what we do best, and that's beat people up. Win lose or draw, we're gonna make the other guys wish they'd stayed out in the sun like all you losers."

Mad Dog Vachon & Baron von Raschke defeated "Unpredictable" Java Ruuk &  Super Medico in 12 minutes when Raschke made Medico submit to the brain claw. Ruuk and Medico made a good showing using their superior speed, but their veteran opponents' pure savageness won out.

A clip of last week's main event was shown. Hiro Matsuda pinned the "Intelligent, Sensational" Destroyer with a backslide.

"Last week, was, in a word, a fluke." the Destroyer said. "I'm in the best shape of my life. I'm lean, trim and fit. I'm the model of good health. People say I'm old, but I've aged like a fine wine."

King Kong Bundy (with the Grand Wizard) defeated Dick the Bruiser in 11 minutes by count out. Bruiser hurt his knee while attempting to pick Bundy up early in the match (he failed), and later could not re-enter after being tossed to the floor. Bundy set him up again for a piledriver on the concrete, but was stopped when Bugsy McGraw came out from the back. He and the Wizard hightailed it out of there.

"Dick the Bruiser is a legend in wrestling, baby!" McGraw said. "There ain't no way I'm going to just stand by and watch you try to end his career, Bundy. Bruiser baby, anytime you need back up, Bugsy McGraw is your man! Oh yeah!"

Realistically, wrestling's "gone off the air" as it were a few times in Los Angeles in the NWA-Classics world, while San Francisco's had a more stable presence. So I'm treating the south end of California kind of like ECW.

Hollywood Wrestling's going to be the island of misfit toys, full of guys past their sell-by date, or never-was wrestlers dressed up with a new coat of paint. It'll be a proving ground of young guys that come thru PWF too.

The more "current" big stars will mostly stay on Big Time Wrestling, but will make occasional appearances.

I like you outlook here. The traditional fans would eat up seeing favs like Bruiser, Tolos, and The Destroyer. In fact, your portrayal of Beyer has me intrigued. Really digging the extreme edge of The Irwins. Ramos and Tolos could be one serious blood feud. The Wizard's lines about Bruiser were priceless. Good to see you continue Robinson's "attitude that needs to be adjusted".

Great stuff.

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience!

Sure, go ahead with "island of misfits" - whaddaya think I'm doing with Maple Leaf?  LOL  Dig your rationalization for a "brand" that is different.  And some of the real life times LA went black was very "mis-fitty" AFAIK.

Even before I got to your note, I was thinking the match ups were very interesting and creative.  I like it & good luck with the concept.
