AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestling  
Taped Friday, Sept. 28 (aired 9-29-82)  
at the Irish McNeil Boy's Club in Sherveport, La.  
 
Today's show opens with with a shot of the letters AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestlingwith action clips of Mid-South stars as North American Heavyweight Champ the Masked Assassin, the Mid-South Tag Team Champs The Shiek & Abdullah the Butcher, Louisiana Heavyweight Champ Junkyard Dog, "Killer" Karl Kox, Mid-South Jr. H. Champ Tony Charles, Louisiana Tag Team Champs Ken Lucas & Ricky Gibson, The Spoiler with manager "Playboy" Gary Hart, Mr. Wrestling, The Manchurians w/mgr. Percy Pringle III and AWA World Champs Chief Wahoo McDaniel, tag team champs the Brisco Brothers and jr. champ TIger Mask before the Mid-South logo hits the screen as we fade to the studio desk with the announcing team of "Cowboy" Bill Watts and Boyd Pierce.
 
Bill runs downs today's tv card including some important highlights from area matches.
 
1. First Match. Single Match.1-fall 10-minute time limit. Akira Maeda returns and takes down rough n' tough Snake Brown with the single leg Boston Crab at the 8:13 mark. Following the match, manager 'Playboy' Gary Hart comes out to talk with Madea who says something to him in Japanee  and leaves a puzzled manager behind. Before he left back for the Orent months ago, Hart managed Maeda.

2. Second Match. Four Man Tag Team Match. 1-fall 10-minute time limit. The Rogeau Brothers (Raymond & Jacques) slipped past Gino Britto & Bob Marcus at the 7:59 mark when Raymond trapped Bob in a bear hug and Jacques followed with the seated senton in the win. All four men shook hands after the match.
 
After the match, Reiser Bowden talks with Louisiana Heavyweight Champ Junkyard Dog and sometime tag partner Otto Wanz on their chasing the Mid-South Tag Team Champs Abdullah the Butcher & The Shiek.

3. Special Feature on AWA World's Heavyweight Champ Wahoo McDaniel and Mid-South Tag Team Champs Abdullah the Butcher & The Shiek.  'Playboy'Gary Hart joins Bill & Boyd at the desk to provide comments on the Spoiler 1# (Don Jardine) pinning the champ but not getting the belt in Shreveport, La. on Sept. 21. Watts explains that a foreign object was found by ring offical Jerry Usher near the champ and Spoiler was disqualifed after the pin. Hart says he will protest the decision with the AWA Board and leaves in a huff. Next, Bill and Boyd air a Mid-South Tag Team Title Match between champs Abdullah the Butcher & The Shiek and challengers 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & 'Killer' Karl Kox held Thursday in New Orleans on Sept. 20. The match eneded in double disqualification with ring officals and wrestlers need to stop the brawling. The Shiek attempted to burn Kox and that seemed to set things off. (9:43 total).

4. Taped Feature. Bill & Boyd set up the new taped interview before the next match. Highlights show Louisiana Tag Team Champs Ken Lucas & Ricky Gibson stop Percy Pringle III's Manchurias last week on TV. Next Percy Pringle III announces he has fired the Manchurians and they are gone from Mid-South. Manager Rock Hunter joins him with El Satanico. Percy pays Rock an undisclosed amount of money for Satanico's contract. They shake hands and we close out. To the ring.
 
Third Match. Single Match. 1-fall 10-minute time limit. El Satanico w/mgr. Percy Pringle III stomped Rickie Fields and got the win with the standing figure-four at the 4:01 mark.

Fourth Match. Single Match. 1-fall 10-minute time limit. El Canek nails Assassin II# (Roger Smith) with the gorilla press T at the 1:21 mark when Assassin II collided with manager Rock Hunter on the ring apron. Thin brings out North American Heavyweight Champ the Assassin1# (Jody Hamilton) who is upset with what just happened and issues a challenge to the Mexican legend. Canek accepts and they get in the ring while Assassin II and Rock Hunter are escorted back to the dressing room . Assassin 1# tries to destroy Canek who trades him punch for punch. In the end, Canek dodges a clothesline by the Assassin 1# and bounces off the rope for a flying bodypress for the cover at the 6L54 mark for the win. The fans are estatic as Canek scored a pin on the champ in a non-title match.  Hunter and the Assassin return and its 3 on 1 until Louisiana Heavyweight Champ Junkyard Dog hits the ring and helps Canek clear house.

Back at the desk, Bill and Boyd review all the action today and tell the fans that Abdullah Butcher & The Sheik will be here next week on AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestling as will Murdoch & Kox. See you next week on Mid-South Wrestling.

Real good show...Great International flavor here...Looking forward to see how far the Rougeaus will go here...Tag scene is really heating up...Great clean win for Canek...Great stuff!

Canek beats both Assassins on one show. WOW! Sure hope Percy signs some top tier talent soon. Hart sure can't be happy with his former charge Maeda. I wonder how Jacques and Raymond will fare in MS, as well. I am really pulling for Murdoch and Kox.
