Championship Wrestling from Florida presents: Southern Championship Wrestling Telecast 10/13/82 across the Sunshine State with Gordon Solie, Buddy Colt, and Barbara Cleary *All matches sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance* Interviews and Announcements - “Professor” Bill Ash, Black Bart, “Outlaw” Don Bass and the Boss come out and Ash tells how he’s sick and tired of Brett Sawyer standing between him and his rightful spot as Florida Television Champion. As Ash runs his mouth, the Boss pulls a contract out for a TV title match next week between Ash and the TV Champion. “You and that paunchy little Omar Atlas can’t get between me and my title this time Sawyer, not this time.” - Brutus Beefcake, still bandaged up from the brutal grudge match with the Legion of Doom on Tuesday night, tells Gordon that he’s hearing that same voice calling him. “He keeps telling me to take my vitamins, say my prayers, live the demandments of the mania. The Mania is taking over Gordon. Can you feel it, Brother? Can you?” - Southern Heavyweight Champion Barry Windham tells Barbara that he’s had enough of facing down the little men in the Legion of Doom. “Jake Roberts wants to send Jonathan Boyd, the Missing Link, or even the One Man Gang out to try and beat me down before he comes after this, the Southern Heavyweight Championship. We both know you sent out the boys who couldn’t do the job first. Then you have old Curtis Iaukea throw salt in my eyes when the big One Man Gang has me beat down. Why Roberts? Because just like that snake you carry in your bag, you are a coward. You hide behind bigger, stronger, more insane men who you can manipulate into doing your dirty work. You couldn’t manipulate Greg Valentine. You won’t manipulate me. And you will not be the Southern Heavyweight Champion as long as I still breath.” - Jesse Barr and Mike George tell Buddy Colt that without their daddy calling the shots, “those Malenko Boys are just two chumps waiting to get picked off. Tuesday night boys, Jesse and I are gonna wipe the floor in the Tampa armory with you and take those Florida tag team belts.” - Jake Roberts tells Gordon that he will take his title match for the Southern Heavyweight Championship when he feels the time is right. “But if you are so excited to get me in the ring Windham, you bring your buddy Greg Valentine and the Legion will send out our One Man Gang to stand by my side and we will show you why the Snake gets what it wants, when it wants.” Matches for this telecast - “Outlaw” Don Bass and Black Bart defeat “Gentleman” Jim Breaks and “Squire” Dave Taylor after Bart delivers a Texas Trash compactor leg drop to the diminutive Breaks. - Brutus Beefcake defeats the Black Scorpion with a sleeper hold. - Florida TV Champion Butch Reed defeats “Bulldog” Bob Brown with a flying shoulder tackle to retain the belt. - Jesse Barr defeats Flama Roja with the spinning toe hold, but after the match, he and Mike George are attacked by the Malenko Brothers with studio security having to separate the two teams. - The One Man Gang defeats Omar Atlas in a surprisingly competitive match with both Jake Roberts and King Curtis keeping an eye on the Gang. Omar used some quickness to hit and move, but was able to do most of his damage when Roberts and Iaukea berated the OMG for his failure. Finally, the angry mass of humanity swatted aside an attempted Atlas drop kick and after a big body slam, the man from Halsted Street delivered a 747 splash for the pin and the win.
