Mid Atlantic TV Taping 10/9
Oct 18th, 2012, 8:17am

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling
Taped at the studios of WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina on the 9th of October
Broadcasted throughout the Carolinas, Virginias and Cincinnati, Ohio on the 13th and 14th of October
Your announcers from the interview area are Bob Caudle and David Crockett
Your referees are Tommy Young, Sonny Fargo and George Gadaski

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YvVnfEXbL0

The show opens with Bob Caudle and David Crockett at the interview area.  They say that they have a huge show today in store for the fans with a tag team main event that could main event anywhere.  The United States Champion Terry Allen and Rick Steamboat will face JJ Dillon’s team of Jumbo Tsuruta and Paul Jones.  We will also see in action today the team of Johnny Weaver and Nelson Royal, The Iron Sheik will be here with his manager Waldo Von Erich, Ray Hernandez will be in action and we will go to the ring for tag team action to start of the show.

Luke Williams and Butch Miller versus George Gulas and Chris Hamrick

Williams and Miller over power the team of Gulas and Hamrick, with Gulas falling prey to a double team battering ram to the solar plexus for the pin and the win for the Kiwi’s. (Young)

The Kiwi’s come to ringside and say that they are here for competition.  They praise the team of Weaver and Royal saying they are tough chaps indeed.  They want to face the team that carries the Union Jack to the ring, Kendo Nagasaki and Johnny Saint.  They are going to keep working up the ladder to face the World Tag Team Champions and take the belts to the place where tag wrestling was perfected.

David says that Ray Hernandez will be next on Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling.

COMMERICAL BREAK

Billy Spears is at the interview area with his men, The Great Kabuki and Mister Fuji.  David asks about what happened last week with the still injured Jimmy Valliant came to save his friend Al Snow from the attack that he ordered by his men.  Spears swore that Valliant and Snow would pay for embarrassing Mister Fuji and The Great Kabuki on TV.  He has told his men that there will be no mercy for these men.  Fuji screams NO MERCY as Kabuki swings around his nun chucks.  Spears says that if Valliant and Snow are wise the will NOT come back as the next time Kabuki will have something special for them both.  Kabuki sprays a green mist in the air as David runs for cover and throws it to the ring as Spears laughs manically

Ray Hernandez versus Israel Mata

Hernandez finishes off Mata with an over the shoulder back breaker and wins via submission in 5 minutes.  Hernandez showed off his power and posed for a disapproving crowd as he walked to speak to David. (Fargo)

Ray is with David, flexing his muscles as David pours a virtual glass of cold water on him by bringing up the Mid Atlantic Television Champion The Mighty Igor.  Hernandez says that Igor got lucky on one night and he will win HIS Television Title back as soon as Igor will face him.  Look at him and then look at the pudgy Igor.  Hernandez truly has a body carved from granite by the gods.  Ray flexes, calls out Igor one last time and jumps at David Crockett which makes the already nervous broadcaster flinch and say that the Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion and his manager is next.

COMMERICAL BREAK with localized promos

David is back with the Mid Atlantic Champion the Iron Sheik and his manager Waldo Von Erich.  Waldo is railing saying that his men rule Mid Atlantic Wrestling with the Mid Atlantic Championship, the unified Tag Team Titles, the six man trophy, his men have more gold than Fort Knox.  The Iron Sheik is fascinated by the man in the ring, with a grey sweat suit, with blue shorts and a red mask.  He yells to the ring asking the wrestlers name.  David replies that he is a newcomer that goes by the name of Uncle Sam.  The Sheik and Waldo rub their hands together and go to the ring. Sheik goes into the ring, shoves the masked man around, who refuses to back down.  Sheik and Von Erich agree to wrestle the man, in a non title match.

Uncle Sam versus The Iron Sheik with Waldo Von Erich

Sam and the Sheik go back and forth in the match with the masked man showing some surprising strength.  The Masked Man gets the Mid Atlantic Champ in trouble and as Waldo jumps up on the apron to get Gadaski’s attention, Uncle Sam knocks the manager down to the floor.  Sam gets in a three point stance as David says he has an idea who this might be.  As a woozy Sheik gets to his feet he is knocked down by a huge football tackle for the pin and the win.  The mask comes off and it is….

HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN!

David and Bob are joined in the interview area by NWA representative George Becker.  George says that with Jim’s victory over the Iron Sheik has earned him a steel cage mask for the Mid Atlantic Title.  Duggan is jubilant as the Sheik and Von Erich protest in the ring.  Duggan starts a USA chant in the ring  and the crowd picks up on it as the people in the ring kick the bottom rope and cover their ears as David says the team of Nelson Royal and Johnny Weaver are next on Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling

COMMERICAL BREAK

Jay Youngblood is at the interview area with Bob and David.  He stays on to provide some insight during the match after saying that he and Rick Steamboat has the team of the Russians in their sights and it will only be a matter of time

Jack Venneo and Kenny Jay versus Nelson Royal and Johnny Weaver

Royal and Weaver are effective, crisp and vicious against the team of Venneo and Jay. Kenny is unable to respond to the sleeper from Weaver.  Weaver and Royal make a point after the match to yell to Youngblood to quit dodging them.  Bob says that the main event is next.

COMMERICAL BREAK with localized promos.

Bob goes straight to the ring for the main event.

Jumbo Tsuruta and Paul Jones with JJ Dillon versus United States Champion Terry Allen and Rick Steamboat

The fans get a great match as Steamboat and Tsuruta’s exchanges are breathtaking.  Jones and Allen go back and forth with Paul working on the already bandaged right knee.  The match ends with a clip to Allen’s knee from Jumbo and a bridging belly to back suplex for the pin.  Jones looks a little angry after the win, Allen is still grasping the knee as Steamboat keeps the wolves away.  Both Bob and David notice Jones’ displeasure as the close the show.  Bob says “So long for now!” as we

Great TV!  I always enjoy watching the opening of the show on Youtube, it takes me to a happy place many moons ago...The Sheepherders looked good and should hold gold here before long...I did some research on Billy Spears and watched his work from Continental with Arn and Stubbs and he is a very good Southern style manager...He fits in great here...Herc continues to grow and improve...Duggan as Uncle Sam would have popped the crowd...Weaver/Royal is a fine oiled machine...Great main event, but Jones not looking pleased bears watching...Great effort James!

I totally agree. Great tv action. Duggan as a masked Uncle Sam is priceless. Poor Shieky and Waldo.

I can't wait for that cage match. I am wondering why Jones was upset. Once again, the aggresive attitude from Weaver and Royal is fun to see.

Good stuff, James.

School and commitments... would rather put out one decent TV show then two crappy ones.

Jones was upset because Duggan took off the mask and "NUMber ONe" had to look at Jim's mug for the rest of the show!
