MACW: House Shows for 10/10/82 & 10/11/82
Oct 19th, 2012, 9:23pm

MACW HOUSE SHOW
Oct 10, 1982
Memorial Auditorium
Spartanburg, SC

OPENING MATCH - MIDGET MATCH
Billy the Kid won over Tiger Jackson

SECOND MATCH
Jumbo Tsuruta w/JJ Dillion used a fisherman's suplex to pin Kenny Jay

THIRD MATCH
TV Champion Mighty Igor survived the tough challenge of Bobby Duncum in a non-title match.  Igor used a double sledgehammer on Duncom for the win.

FOURTH MATCH
Great Kabuki w/Billy Spears & Mr. Fuji used a neck clamp nerve hold to make Tom Pritchard submit.

INTERMISSION

MID ATLANTIC HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Iron Sheik w/Waldo Von Erich retained his title by putting away a game Mike Rotundo.  Sheik worked over Rotundo's back, then got him in his Camel Clutch.

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Gino Hernandez & Jimmy Garvin faced top challengers Ricky Steamboat and Jay Younglblood in this exciting main event.  Finish came when referee George Gadaski was trying to separate Steamboat and Hernandez (not the legal men in the ring), which allowed Garvin to nail Youngblood with one of the title belts and then cover him.  Crowd was not happy with the decision and let the champs know as they exited the ring.

MACW HOUSE SHOW
Oct 11, 1982
County Hall
Charleston, SC

OPENING MATCH
Tracy Smothers used a backslide to pin Chris Hamrick.  Both wrestlers were cheered as they shook hands both before and after the match

SECOND MATCH
Mr. Fuji w/Billy Spears & Jumbo Tsuruta picked up a win over RT Tyler after Fuji hit Tyler with a double knife-edge thrust to the throat, unseen by the ref who was admonishing Spears about his attempted interference in the match.

THIRD MATCH
Nelson Royal w/Johnny Weaver made Kenny Jay to submit to an abdominable stretch.

FOURTH MATCH
Kendo Nagasaki & Johnny Saint prevailed over Ray Hernandez & Bobby Duncum as Saint used a suplex and bridge to get the pin on Duncum.

INTERMISSION

MID ATLANTIC HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Champion Iron Sheik w/Waldo Von Erich kept his title with a countout win over TV Champion Mighty Igor.  Igor was in a tussle with Von Erich on the floor and didn't realize he was being counted out.

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
In a "Battle of the Bullies" reminiscent of the old Mid Atlantic days, the reigning champs Gino Hernandez and Jimmy Garvin fought to a double disqualification against the current Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champions of Ivan Koloff & Nikolai Volkoff.  The fans didn't really cheer either team, but really just enjoyed seeing the two teams beating the stuffing out of one another!

Real good house shows...Spears' boys looked strong...Igor scores a great win over Duncum...Sheiky baby with two good defenses...Good win for Smothers...Gotta love a win by Nelson Royal...Nagasaki & Saint's win was an upset in my book...NWA Tag Champs had two tough defenses and managed to hold on to the straps...Great stuff!

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience!

Spartanburg-
I hope Rotundo gets another shot at The Iron Sheik. Great match with Gino/Jimmy and Jay/Steamer.

Charleston-
Igor should have had his head on better here. Really would have enjoyed seeing The Ruskies get theirs handed to them.
