AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestling
Taped Friday, Oct. 19, 1982 (aired 10-20-82)
at the Irish McNeil Boy's Club in Sherveport, La.

The show opens with video highlights from last week's  AWA North American Heavyweight Title Match where the champion El Canek of Mexico defeated the previous champ the Masked Assassin 1# (Jody Hamilton) when the champ got his shoulder up on the three-count of a double pin before  heading into roday's show which opens with a shot of the letters AWA followed by Mid-South Championship Wrestling with action clips of Mid-South stars as new North American Heavyweight Champ the Masked El Canek, the Mid-South Tag Team Champs The Spoiler & 'Maniac' Mark Lewis w/mgr. 'Playboy' Gary Hart, Louisiana Heavyweight Champ Junkyard Dog, 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & "Killer" Karl Kox, Mid-South Jr. H. Champ Tony Charles, Louisiana Tag Team Champs Ken Lucas & Ricky Gibson, Mr. Wrestling, The Los Infernales w/mgr. Percy Pringle III, The Assassins (Jody Hamilton & Roger Smith) w/mgr. Rock Hunter and AWA World Champs Chief Wahoo McDaniel, tag team champs the Brisco Brothers and jr. champ Tiger Mask before the Mid-South logo hits the screen as we fade to the studio desk with the announcing team of "Cowboy" Bill Watts and Boyd Pierce.

Bill & Boyd welcome the fans for another hour of AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestling.

1. First Match. 4 Man Tag Team Match. 1-fall 10-minute time limit. 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & "Killer" Karl Kox were determined in their match against Gino Britto & Bob Marcus as Kox nailed Marcus with the brain buster for the pin at the 4:01 mark.

Following the match, ring announcer Reiser Bowden interview Dick & Karl who are furious with Abdullah the Butcher & The Shiek for the sneak attack last week and costing them the Mid-South Tag Team Belts. Murdoch calls it a conspiracy between 'Playboy' Gary Hart and Rock Hunter to take the belts off of them. Kox says there was money exchanged with Hart and Hunter and he wants Mid-South to investigate.

Ar this moment, Watts joins them to tell them they have looked into it and haven't been able to find any money has changed hands. If they do, then Mid-South will take action to strip them of the belts and possibly hand out suspensions and fines.

I would not want to be anybody that gets in the way of Murdoch and Kox. The Assassin gets a nice comeback win. Boy, you just can't deny anybody managed by Percy Pringle. Wanz being bled by that Spoiler claw must have been a sight.

Great stuff.

I will keep my eyes on the territory mainly for one reason - THE SPOILER!  He has always been one of my favorites.  Paired up with Gary Hart will make him hard to beat!  Also liking the Murdoch & Kox pair.  Never got to see their work IRL, but I am very aware of their reputations in the ring together.

This show will get a 96 out of 100 rating.  Great action!

Really good TV...Kox/Murdock, Assassins, & Abby/Sheik is scary good...Charles/Pro was a top notch match...Assassin continues to roll along and could recapture the NA Title at any time...Pringle's team with a big win over Lucas & Gibson...Spoiler gets a little help to overcome Wanz...Great work!

A lot to like here, very strong TT's with good managers involved.  New Mexican team is no pushover.

Murdoch / Kox playing the victims has a lot of pizzazz to it!  Enjoying the roving talent being a key here.

Keep up the good work here!
