MACW TV Taping 10/23
Oct 31st, 2012, 7:38pm

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling
Taped at the WRAL studios in Raleigh North Carolina on the 23rd of October
Broadcasted on the 27th and 28th of October in the Carolinas, Virginias and Cincinnati Ohio.
Your announcers for the broadcast are Bob Caudle and David Crockett
Your referees for the broadcast are Tommy Young, Stu Schwartz and Sonny Fargo

The show starts with the teams of Jay Youngblood and Rick Steamboat in the ring along with Nelson Royal and Johnny Weaver.  Bob welcomes the fans and informs them that this match will start the show and all other matches will be standby matches, including the World Heavyweight Champion, Dusty Rhodes.  We will start this tag team match after these words.

COMMERICAL BREAK

The match starts and the action goes back and forth for three commercial breaks.  In this thirty minute classic, every trick is pulled out the bags of the two wily veterans Royal and Weaver. They keep Youngblood in their corner for fifteen minutes and just pound on the youngster.  Numerous two counts, foot on the ropes and a save from Steamboat keeps the match going.  Both teams want to face the NWA World Tag Team Champions in Cincinnati.  Late in the match with both teams tired, Fargo takes a bad bump to the outside.  Fargo is on the floor as Youngblood makes the tag to Steamboat.  Rick takes over and has both men on the run.  Royal is hit by a top rope chop and Steamboat is on the top rope, waiting to deliver the flying body press to his foe.  Weaver stops him and delivers a low blow, leaving Steamboat on the top rope. Royal delivers a crushing superplex and crawls over.  Steamboat barely kicks out at two.  Royal tags in Weaver who continues to soften up Rick.  Johnny assaults Steamboat verbally in ways that the Mid Atlantic audience has never heard before.  Fargo gets back into the ring, still shaken and continues.  Weaver misses a big elbow drop as Steamboat continues the fight, working on Johnny.  Youngblood makes a blind tag, which surprises Steamboat as Jay continues the attack.  Jay is really feeling it as he is war dancing, and playing to the crowd.  He hits the giant chop on Weaver and goes in for the cover as Royal makes the save.  Fargo points to both teams telling them that the next save by either team will result in a disqualification as the match continues.  Weaver luckily tags in Royal who starts working on Youngblood’s knee, trying to set him up for a submission maneuver.  Royal and Weaver again keep Youngblood in their half of the ring and concentrate on the knee.  Weaver delivers a kick to Youngblood’s knee, berating him as much as he did Steamboat.  He tags in Royal who clamps a Texas Cloverleaf in the center of the ring.  Fargo warns Steamboat who stands in their corner and cheerleads for his partner to get out of the hold.  Youngblood scrapes and claws and gets to the bottom rope, which causes a break.  Royal tags in Weaver who goes for an elbow and misses on Jay.  Jay struggles and gets the tag to Rick.  Rick starts an attack on Weaver, who is on rubber legs.  Rick hits chop after chop on Weaver and delivers a crushing suplex in the middle of the ring.  Steamboat climbs the ropes and hits the top rope flying bodypress on Weaver for the pin and the win.

Steamboat and Youngblood win a shot against the NWA World Tag Team Champions while Weaver and Royal will face the Russians for the unified Mid Atlantic Tag Team Titles.

Steamboat and Youngblood recover from the match and try to shake hands with their advisories.  Royal and Weaver refuse to do so walking to the back saying that it isn’t over with Jay and Rick.  Bob says that this is one of the better matches he has ever seen in his life, and the NWA World Heavyweight Champion is next.

THREE COMMERICAL BREAKS, second with localized promos

Bob and David are in the interview area with former NWA World Champion Harley Race.  Harley says that he is ready for Dusty in Cincinnati in a few weeks and he is going to stay in the interview area and watch the match.

Dusty Rhodes versus George Gulas

Rhodes has no problem with Gulas and has an impressive showing against Gulas, winning with a bionic elbow.  Race is not impressed and makes sure he speaks loud enough for race to hear so during the match.

After the match Rhodes invites Race into the ring.  Race gets up on the apron, but backs down telling Dusty that it isn’t time yet.  Rhodes continues to celebrate in the ring to the audience attending as David throws it to break.

COMMERICAL BREAK with localized promos

David and Bob are back and go over the huge card in the Cincinnati gardens on the 10th of November.  They remind all of the fans in the Ohio area to come because this could be the card of the year.

Well written tag match loved the back and forth with both teams looking strong. I wonder how the blind tag reaction will progreaa, if at all. I know that the crowd won't cheer the Russians but, as a fan, I will be in the corner of Weaver and Royal.

Great show.

Yes, no cheap time killing in the epic TT match - good work on the writing.

Good looking card at hand.  Would any viewers be saying "get this tag match, over - I want to see Gulas destroy Rhodes"???!!!
