**Sprach Zarathrustra plays the Pankrationist Statue rotates 360 degrees while Championship Wrestling is shown over it. The scene fades to Lance Russell & Dave Brown behind the announce desk. **

Russell:  Yeeeeeellllllloooooo again and we welcome you to another exciting edition of Championship Wrestling.  Heeeeeeyyyy what a busy week we have had and what a great show we have lined up for ya.  And here’s our old friend Davey to tell us all about it.

Brown:  Yes indeed, Lance.  With the big 10-man Rage in the Cage only a week away from Monday, we have heard from several wrestling legends about the possibility of losing wrestling in Memphis.  On today’s program, we will hear from many of these great former wrestlers.  We also have a new training video sent in by Andy Kaufman.  Jerry Jarrett will be here to talk about the matches for Monday Night and next week’s Rage in the Cage.  We will hear Team Lawler’s response to The Superstar.  We will also find out how the advantage for the cage match will be decided.  The Rock-n-Roll Express and the Gilberts will be on hand.  Our main event this week will see Superstar Bill Dundee facing ½ of the Southern tag team Champions, Bobby Eaton.  But first, let’s bring in Jerry Jarrett.  Jerry the time for the big Rage in the Cage is drawing near.  What information do you have for us this week?

Jarrett:  Yes, Dave, the big match is almost here.  It’s a match that could change the course of wrestling history here in Memphis.  To be honest, I am worried that Cornette and Kaufman have the decked stacked in their favor.  Dave, I don’t want ch.5 and the Mid-South Coliseum in the hands of those two.  I can only imagine how those two will break the hearts of our fans.  This match is garnering attention not only from local media, but from national outlets as well.  World famous photographer, George Napolitano, will be there.  Bill Apter and Craig Peters will be there from Pro Wrestling Illustrated.  This will be a historic night one way or the other.  But, let me talk about this Monday Night’s matches for the Coliseum.  It will be another preview for next week’s Rage in the Cage.  We have decided to make two tag team matches with Jerry Lawler & Austin Idol facing Ric Flair & Hulk Hogan in the main event and Tommy Rich & Dutch Mantell meeting Nick Bockwinkel & David Schultz in the semi-main event.  We will also have a #1 contender’s for the Southern tag team Title match between The Rock-n-Roll Express and the Gilberts. There will be two other matches as well.  Fans, come on out for what could be the next to last Mid-South Coliseum card ever.

Brown:  Fans, the concern in Jerry’s voice says it all.  These are troubling times for CWA wrestling.  Let’s go to our first match.

Match 1
The Great Yatsu debuts and def. Gary Royal with a nerve hold.

Russell:  Heeeeeeeeyyyyy let’s welcome in a guy who usually is a behind the scenes guy, Mr. Guy Coffey.

Coffey:  Thank you Lance.  Yes, you are right, I much rather stay behind the scenes, but I just wanted to come out and say that I sure hope that Jerry’s team wins next week.  I have been coordinating CWA events for many years, going back to the Ellis Auditorium.  I have gotten close to many of the rasslers and have become friends with quite a few.  Rasslin has become a big part of my life and I don’t want to see it leave Memphis.  I know all of these great fans deserve the best action and CWA has always delivered it for them.  Losing rasslin will crush Memphis.  It’s the only sport we can call our own.  I just hope Jerry, Austin, Tommy, Dutch, & whoever their partner will be can pull this one off.  I mentioned the Ellis Auditorium earlier.  The Mid-South Coliseum is sold out, so we have decided to use closed circuit television and broadcast it to the Ellis Auditorium.  Get your tickets early, because I believe the Ellis Auditorium will sell out too.  Thank you for having me out here Lance.

Russell:  Thank you Mr. Coffey.  I believe we all feel the same way you do.  Fans, another training video was sent in to us from Cornette & Kaufman’s men.

A video airs from the same gym as last week.  It is shot from a different angle and a Texas flag can be seen hanging on one wall.  Andy Kaufman is at ringside barking orders to Flair, Hogan, Bockwinkel, & Schultz as they take on a number of scrubs.  Once again, a muscular man with long stringy hair can be seen from time to time.  He is wearing a shirt with the sleeves cut off and he appears to be wearing a headband.  His face is never shown.

Match 2
Mike Fever def. The Panther with a suplex in what can only be called a snoozefest

Russell:  Weeeeellllll, joining me now are the two top contenders for the Southern Tag Team Title, The Rrrrrrrrock-n-Rrrrrrroll Express and good ol’ Tommy aaaaaaand Eddie Gilbert.  Gentlemen, you will face off Monday to see who will be the number one contenders.  How do you all feel about this?

T. Gilbert:  Thank you Lance.  Eddie and I are really looking forward to this match.  Rick and Robert are good friends of ours and it will be good to have a good, clean scientific match.  No matter which of us win, The Midnight Express better be shaking in their shoes.  It makes an old guy like me proud to be able to get in there with three young pups and mix it up, so yeah this match is going to be a good one.  Right Eddie?

E. Gilbert:  That’s right Dad.  Look, Ricky, Robert, & me have grown up in this business.  Ricky and me travelled the roads with our Dads and Robert did with his brother.  This is what it’s all about.  Two teams with the same goal wrestling each other to see who is better.  The best part is that we are all friends and we will still be friends no matter how the match turns out.  Right Ricky?

Morton:  That’s right Eddie!  And don’t let Tommy fool ya, he’s got a lot left in the tank.  It’s not every day when you get to wrestle friends in the ring.  It will be good to have a match where you don’t have to worry about dirty tricks or sneaky managers coming around giving us grief.  I expect that the fans are really going to enjoy this match and I believe the cheers will be split right down the middle.  Tommy has taught Eddie well and they are one of the best teams anywhere.  We can’t wait until Monday Night!  Ain’t that right Robert?

Gibson:  You got that right brother!

Russell:  Heeeeeeeyyyyyy fans, you don’t want to miss this one!  Let’s hear from an old friend of ours by way of VTR, Plowboy Frazier!

Frazier:  Hey y’all!  This is your old friend, Plowboy Frazier from down here in Alabama.  Ah’ve heard about everything that’s goin own over thar in Memphis and Ah can’t balieve that rasslin might be took away from them good people thar.  Ah member when Jerry Lawler found me in Philadelphia, MS and said Ah should be a rassler.  He brung me in and showed me the ropes and purty soon, Ah was a rassler.  Me and Jerry been through a lot and he is one of my very bestest friends.  So, even though Ah’m rasslin down here in Alabama, Ah will be thar next Mundy Naht and if Jerry needs me ta do anything for him Ah will be happy ta do it.  Jerry, the big Plowboy is rootin for ya and Ah have yer back if’n ya need me.  Ah’ll see y’all next Mundy Naht.  Take care y’all.

Russell:  Weeeeeeellll, it looks like The King has some BIIIIIIIIIIIG back-up for the Rrrrrrrage in the Cage.  Heeeeeeyyyyy lets go to the ring.

Match 3
Tommy & Eddie Gilbert def. Frank Morrell & Charlie Fulton when Tommy bulldogs Morrell

Russell:  Wooooooaaaaaaahhhhh here comes a sight for sore eyes.  Jackie Fargo, how have you been?

Fargo:  Doin good Lance.  You know ol’ Jackie, I’m just as crazy as ever (Lance and Jackie laugh).  Lance, I had to come out here and say something about this upcoming Rage in the Cage match.  Ya know, Memphis rasslin has been around longer than me and that’s sayin something.  To think that it could all come to an end next week makes me sick!  Jerry and them boys can’t let this happen.  Hey, if Jerry wants me to be their partner, I still have a match or two left in me and I am ready to put up my dukes, pally!  Ch.5 and the Coliseum can’t fall into the hands of them two creeps, Cornette & Kaufman.  We can’t let that happen.  Jerry, Austin, Tommy, Dutch, I’m here for you if you need me.

Russell:  Looks like everybody wants to help save ch.5 and the Coliseum.  Waaaaaaaiiiiiittttt a minute.  Are my eyes deceiving me?  Thhaaaaattt can’t be him.  Yessssssss it is.  Ladies and gentlemen, a rrrrrrreal Memphis legend is here.It is often said that black families in Memphis have three pictures hanging up in their houses, Jesus, Dr. Martin Luther King, and this man….Sputnik Monroe!  He is famous for wrestling and his work in civil rights!  Sputnik, welcome!

Monroe:  Lance, thank you for the kind words.  I never heard too many kind words when I was wrestling.  But, I am out here just like my old nemesis, Jackie Fargo, to give my support to Jerry Lawler and his team.  Memphis needs wrestling and wrestling needs Memphis.  We don’t have any sports teams here for the people to support.  All we have is our wrestling.  And now, that is being threatened.  Now, I did most of my wrestling at the Ellis Auditorium, but I know how important the Mid-South Coliseum and ch.5 are to the good people of Memphis.  I heard Fargo offer to help Lawler, but he needs somebody meaner to take on those thugs.  I am just the man for the jobs.  Just say the word Lawler and I will be the fifth member of your team.  I will fight for Memphis wrestling just like I fought for civil rights.  Thank you for having me out here Lance.

Russell:  Heeeeeeyyyyy the pleasure was all mine, Sputnik.  Let’s go to the ring for our main event.

Jerry Lawler, Tommy Rich, Austin Idol, & Dutch Mantell come out to watch the main event.

Match 4
2/3 Falls
Superstar Bill Dundee vs Bobby Eaton w/ Dennis Condrey, Jim Cornette, & Kareem Mohammed

Cornette spends most of the match egging on Lawler’s team and not paying attention to Eaton’s match.  Condrey is visibly perturbed.

1st Fall
Dundee takes the fall with a bombs away knee drop on Eaton after 12 min.  (The match continues after a commercial).

2nd Fall
Dundee takes the second fall when Condrey drags Eaton out of the ring and they head to the back sans Cornette.

Dundee joins team Lawler at the desk.

Dundee:  Well Kingfish, whatcha say?  Am I in or not?

Lawler:  Dundee, as you can see, people are coming out of the woodwork to be a part of our team.  Just today, we have had Plowboy, Fabulous Jackie, & Sputnik offer to join up.  But, we have talked it over.  Each one of us have fought with you and against you and there is no doubt that you are one tough customer.  You would fight a buzz saw and give him the first round.  So, Dundee, you are in, you are the fifth member of the team!

Dundee:  Kingfish, you won’t regret this.  I love ch.5 and the Coliseum as much as you guys do and there is no doubt that we can win this match.  You won’t regret this guys.  We have to save ch.5 and the Coliseum.

Cornette:  Well, well, well.  Team Lawler has it’s final member.  Isn’t that just so sweet.  Little Billy Dundee  wants to defend the honor of his hated enemy, Jerry Lawler.  I wouldn’t trust him, but Lawler you do what you think is right.  I’ve been watching all day and it’s like I’ve been watching a funeral.  Big, bad Jim Cornette and mean, nasty Andy Kaufman are stealing wrestling away from Memphis like the Grinch who stole Christmas.  Boo, hoo, hoo and all of the boobs in Boobville had no roast beast.  Don’t blame us.  Lawler and Jarrett thought it was funny to embarrass Andy and me.  Well, I don’t see you laughing anymore King.  All I’ve heard today was crying.  Old men, fat oafs, goofball fans, everyone is crying because they know deep down that we are going to win and wrestling in Memphis will be gone forever!

Lawler:  Listen Cornette.  You have a good group that’s for sure.  But, I would put this team right here against any team in the world.  The only thing left to decide about the Rage in the Cage is how the advantage is gained.  What I suggest is that one of my team wrestles one of your team and that will decide the team with the advantage.

Cornette:  NO, no, no Lawler.  I know how you are.  You will go out and hurt one of mine and Andy’s guys so you can gain an edge.  You’ll throw fire or pull out a chain or something.  I’m not falling for that one.  (The crowd stirs as someone approaches the desk).

Lawler:  Hart?  What do you want?

Hart:  (In a serious, low voice)  Jerry, I know we don’t see eye to eye, but this idiot is trying to take my livelihood away from me.  The Coliseum and ch.5 are like my home.  Jerry, whether you want to admit it or not, you started me in this business and I love it.  I don’t want to see wrestling leave Memphis.  That’s why I volunteer to wrestle Andy Kaufman to determine the advantage.

Lawler:  You?  Wrestle Kaufman?

Cornette:  (Laughing) You got it Hart.  Andy has beaten women three times your size.  There is no doubt he can take you!

Hart:  He has never wrestled anyone fighting for their professional life.  He will be in for a big surprise.  Jerry, I know you don’t trust me, but we agree in this case.  Cornette and Kaufman must be stopped!  I won’t let you down Jerry.

Lawler:  You’re right Hart.  I don’t trust you, but I believe you can take Kaufman.  But, if you betray us, you will have five men out for your hide!  Hart, you better come through for us.

Hart:  You can count on me King!  (Everyone finds separate ways to leave the set).

Russell:  Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, don’t know about that King.  Hart is a man not to be trusted.  I think you would have be safer with a coin flip.  Weeeeeeeeeee will see next Monday.  Heeeeeeeeyyyyyy it looks like we are all out of time.  We’ll see you at the Coliseum.  Join us next week for what could be the final episode of CWA action.  For my partner Dave Brown, thiiiiiiissss is Lance Russell saying seeeeeeee ya next week!

I hope Hart doesn't double cross the guys. Liked the famous Memphis wrestlers weighing in. The Gilberts staying clean isn't something I can depend on. It is very interesting to see that big man watching Cornette's stuff.

Will be watching the Mid-South Coliseum closely.

Excellent show.  The amount of detail worked in pays off - the cameos & promos and detailed Lance Russell bits all hit the mark.

You've built the story & added tension and drama.  Throwing Jimmy Hart into the mix now just ups the ante - he can be a true wild card.
