AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestling

The show opens with video action clips of Mid-South stars as new North American Heavyweight Champ the Masked El Canek, the Mid-South Tag Team Champs The Spoiler & 'Maniac' Mark Lewis w/mgr. 'Playboy' Gary Hart, Louisiana Heavyweight Champ Junkyard Dog, 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & "Killer" Karl Kox, Mid-South Jr. H. Champ Tony Charles, 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & "Killer" Karl Kox,  Mr. Wrestling, The Los Infernales w/mgr. Percy Pringle III, The Assassins (Jody Hamilton & Roger Smith) w/mgr. Rock Hunter and AWA World Champs Chief Wahoo McDaniel, tag team champs the Brisco Brothers and jr. champ Tiger Mask before the Mid-South logo hits the screen as we fade to the studio desk with the announcing team of "Cowboy" Bill Watts and Boyd Pierce.
 
Bill & Boyd tell the fans that the Louisiana Tag Team Belts will be defended today with champs Ken Lucas & Ricky Gibson going against challengers Los Infernales but before we to that match, we go back to last week's highlights with the Spoiler defeating Otto Wanz and what transpired after the match.  
(VTR) Back at the desk, Bill brings back Hart, Spoiler 1# & Mark Lewin to address the charges of a payoff by 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & "Killer" Karl Kox. Bill and Gary really go at it verbally. Then Murdoch & Kox come out and things get heated. If that wasn't enough, out comes Hunter and the Assassins who verbally got at it with Dick & Karl & Bill.
 
Now with Bill, Boyd and matchmaker 'Grizzly' Smith who are discussing the matter when  'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & "Killer" Karl Kox come out with a proof that there was a payoff. Murdoch presnts Bill and Grizz with a crumpled Gary Hart check payable to Rock Hunter for $25, 000! Kox says this is the proof they needed to get their tag belts back.
 
This brings out an really irate Rock Hunter and his Assassins (Jody Hamilton & Roger Smith). Hunter demands to know how Murdoch & Kox got their hands on his check. He calls them theives and demands Mid-South fire them on the spot. Watts confronts Hunter with the check and asks him if this was a payoff for bringing in Abdullah the Butcher & The Shiek on Mid-South Wrestling TV? Rock tries to talk his way out when out comes, 'Playboy' Gart Hart with the Spoiler (Don Jardine) & 'Maniac' Mark Lewin.who demands to know how Kox & Murdoch came up with that check as well.  Watts reminds them that AWA President Verne Gagne said he would take action if proof was found that a payoff was made involing the Mid-South Tag Team belts. Not only fines would happen but possible suspensions. Hart says it was a loan between himself and Mr. Hunter. Accusations are flying left and right when Assassin 1#  blurts out if it wasn't for the Shiek & Abdullah, Spoiler & 'Maniac' Mark Lewin wouldn't be the champs. Murdoch & Kox are escatic after hearing that. The Spoiler is furious and goes after the Assassin 1# as the managers and tag partners step in to stop an all-out brawl. Bill says he going to call Gagne during the commercial break.

Louisiana Tag Team Title Match.1-fall tv time limit. Louisiana Tag Team Champs Ken Lucas & Ricky Gibson drop the belts to (Challs): The Los Infernales (El Satanico & Pirata Morgan) w/mgr. Percy Pringle III at the 9:13 mark when PP trips up Gibson who is pinned by Morgan.

First Stand By Match. 1-fall 10-minute time limit. Jacques & Raymond Rogeau defeated Gino Britto & Bob Marcus at the 8:10 mark when Raymond rolls up Bob for the pin. After the match, Britto protests claiming Jacques was the legal man not Raymond which leads to blows between Raymond & Gino before officals come out to stop them.

Second Stand By Match. 1-fall 10-minte time limit. Non-title singles match. Louisiana Heavyweight Champ Junkyard Dog drew North American Heavyweight Champ El Canek in a power vs. wrestling skills match between two favorites.
 
Before we go to commercial break, Mid-South shows videos of Japan legends Baba the Giant & Antonio Inoki who will coming here during November.

Before the start of the next match, Watts joins Pierce at the desk to talk about his phone call with Gagne on this check situation and payoff accusations. Fines will be handed out to Hart & Hunter as well as their stables. Murdoch & Kox will get a guaranteed rematch in two weeks.
 
Third Stand By Match. 1-fall 10-minute time limit. Commercial break includes interviews for local matches. Non-title tag team match. Mid-South Tag Team Champs The Spoiler & 'Maniac' Mark Lewis w/mgr. 'Playboy' Gary Hart were disqualified against the team of  Dick Steinborn & Tim Woods at the 8:56 mark when the Spoiler had the Claw on Steiinborn and refused to release it. After the match, Hart joined Lewin & Spoiler in beating up Dick & Tim until Murdoch & Kox hit the ring and chased the champs out of the ring.

Back at the desk, Assassin 1# is out issuing a challenege to the Spoiler1# when Hunter & Assassin 2# come out and talk him back to the dressing room. 'Grizzly' joins them to say he will sign the match for next week when Spoiler 1# comes out and says he accepts the challenge and he leaves. Boyd tells the fans to tune in next week for more AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestling.

I am sure the fans will be cheering hard for Assassin and Spoiler to beat the heck out of each other. Great argument between Hunter's and Hart's goons. I imagine that is the most unique championship team that Pringle has managed. The Rougeaus going against Brito could be a nice Canadian program for you. Really enjoyed the JYD/Canek match.
