AWA jMid-South TV 11-10-83. Tag champs defend!

AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestling  
Taped Friday, Nov. 9, 1982 (aired 11-10-82)  
at the Irish McNeil Boy's Club in Sherveport, La.  
 
The show opens with video action clips of Mid-South stars North American Heavyweight Champ the Masked El Canek, the Mid-South Tag Team Champs The Spoiler & 'Maniac' Mark Lewis w/mgr. 'Playboy' Gary Hart, Louisiana Heavyweight Champ Junkyard Dog, 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & "Killer" Karl Kox, Mid-South Jr. H. Champ Tony Charles, Mr. Wrestling Tim Woods, The Los Infernales w/mgr. Percy Pringle III, The Assassins (Jody Hamilton & Roger Smith) w/mgr. Rock Hunter and AWA World Champs Chief Wahoo McDaniel, tag team champs the Brisco Brothers and jr. champ Tiger Mask before the Mid-South logo hits the screen as we fade to the studio desk with the announcing team of "Cowboy" Bill Watts and Boyd Pierce.
 
First Match. 1-fall tv time limit. AWA Mid-South Tag Team Championship Match. (Champs): The Spoiler & 'Maniac' Mark Lewis w/mgr. 'Playboy' Gary Hart lost by disqualification to (Challs): 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & 'Killer' Karl Kox. At the 10-minute mark we go to a commercial break. Murdoch & Kox are taking nothing off of the champs, trading blow for blow despite Hart's objections.

Back to the tag title match. At the 5:10 (15:10) mark, Kox attempts the brainbuster on Lewin when Hart entes the ring and nails KKK with a blackjack causing an automatic disqualification and retaining of the belts for the champs by ring official Frankie Cain. Murdoch is furious and nails Hart and throws Lewin over the top rope as Spoiler `# (Don Jardine) puts the Claw on Dick as the ring fills with wrestlers.

Bill & Boyd present a video of AWA World's Heavyweight Champ Wahoo McDaniel defending the belt in Tulsa on Nov. 4 against North American Heavyweight Champ El Canek where McDaniel was disqualified and tried to unmask El Canek until Junkyard Dog hit the ring and chased the World's Champ back to the dressing room. They follow up with a vidro taped on Wednesday, Nov. 7 in Jackson, Miss. where Asian stars Baba the Giant & Antonio Inoki squared off against the hated duo of Abdullah the Butcher & The Shiek which ended in a disqualification win by the Asian Superstars.

First Stand By Match. Single Match. 1-fall 10-minute time limit. Mid-South Jr. Heavyweight Champ Tony Charles went to a time limit draw with Dick Steinborn.

Second Stand By Match. Single Match. Louisiana Heavyweight Champ Junkyard Dog thumped 'King' Roy Lee Welch at the 1:16 mark for a quick win. After the match, JYD talked with Mike McGuirk ringside about Wahoo McDaniel and his recent actions. JYD says he will take the title off of him the next change he gets.

Third Stand By Match. 1-fall 10 minute time limit. Six Man Tag Team Match. The Rogeau Brothers (Armand, Jacques & Raymond) posted another big win over the challenge of the Red Devil, Frank Dalton & Levi Banks when Jacques pinned Frank with a drop kick and pin at the 9:34 mark..
 
Commercial break includes interviews for local matches
 
Back at the desk, Bill & Boyd review the action on today's show and remind the fans to tune in next week for more AWA Mid-South Championship Wrestling.

Really good TV...Murdock/Kox need a no DQ match with the Champs...Charles/Steinborn would have been a classic...JYD is focused, I wouldn't sell him short...The Rougeaus continue to look good here...Great work!

Hart just is getting too blatant with that blackjack. Some last dance stips need to come around. Wahoo better watch out for the JYD. Really good match between Steinborn and Charles. I can't wait to see the young, arrogant Rougeaus get a shot at some gold.
