NWA Florida TV 11/24 Egos and Bruisers
Nov 21st, 2012, 9:59pm

Championship Wrestling from Florida presents: Southern Championship Wrestling
Telecast 11/24/82 across the Sunshine States with Gordon Solie, Buddy Colt, and Barbara Cleary

*All matches sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance*

Interviews and Announcements:
-      Before Gordon can even get going, Florida Television Champion “Professor” Bill Ash is out with the Boss and the mysterious Masked Superstar #2. “Read it and weep Gordon. I’ve got my Television Title back from that punk Brett Sawyer and now that the boss has cut ties to those two Cowpoke crackers and brought in a real master of the mat in the Masked Superstar #2, this title will be around my waist for a long time. And before you ask Gordon, and I knew you would, the reason I have Superstar #2 with me is simple; because 1 just wasn’t enough to do the job.”

-      Buddy welcomes newcomers Spike Huber and Steve Regal, with Steve telling how important it is to be the best in Florida. “Buddy, I grew up watching the best tag teams in the world come into the War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale. I saw the likes of the Briscos, the Infernos, the Australians, the Grahams all trying for those titles. But when I met up with this man, Spike Huber, I knew we made as good a tag team as you will find in this sport. Better than the Englishmen, better that the Samoans. Heck, we are better than the Malenkos and we will take those titles off the likes of Mike George and Jesse Barr if they have the guts to get in the ring with the real young lions of wrestling.”

-      New Florida Heavyweight Champion Butch Reed tells Barbara that he has reached one of the high points in the sport. “The last real man to hold this title, Dusty Rhodes, he went on and won the World Title. The man is the World Champion and this was the stepping stone. He stepped over men like Kevin Sullivan. He stepped over men like Jake Roberts. That fool Greg Valentine ran away from Dusty. But I run from no man, and I’m running with this Florida title as far as I can carry it.”

-      Jesse Barr and Mike George, the Florida Tag Team Champions, tell Buddy that they know the NWA doesn’t want them to have the belts. “You saw the footage from Thursday night Buddy. You saw that I had that greased up half-wit Hernandez in the grips of the spinning toe hold. One more turn, just one more turn is all it would have taken to snap his leg and end the ridiculous reign of those two. It was only out of desperation that Guido attempted that small package and Gilberto Roman counted a fast three. We should rightfully be World Tag Team Champions and we want Eddie Graham to take this complaint all the way to the NWA Board. Take this all the way to the desk of Vince McMahon if necessary. Tell’em Mike.” “Like Jesse said… What the hell is he doing here? Don’t pretend I don’t see you. Yeah, keep walking Sweetan. Don’t you eyeball me. This interview is over.”

-      Gordon Solie speaks with newcomer “the Canadian Bruiser” Bob Sweetan, who is very direct about how he looks at Florida wrestling. “Gordon, with all due respect, I came to Florida to wrestle the best. I came to face real men and what do I find when I get here? Devil worshipers, snake handlers, bearded fat men, blonde pretty boys, ex-NFL bench warmers, washed up former champions, and a gutless coward the likes of Mike George holding half of the tag team championship. I thought I would have to shoulder the load here in Florida to become champion. I just never expected to have to clear out all that trash.”

Nice homeboy promo from Regal. Great triumphant interview from Reed. I loved the reference to Sweetan by George and Sweetan's comments to all of the Florida roster. He could be the just loose cannon thatFlorida needs. Loved the different slant from George and Barr, as to their World Title shot loss. Pure old school.

Great TV.

Promos have really become your strong suit...Regal/Huber could go far here...Reed is hitting his prime now, he could challenge for the NWA strap...Great stuff!
