NWA MACW TV Taping 11/13
Nov 22nd, 2012, 10:27am

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling
Sanctioned by the NWA, The National Wrestling Alliance
Taped on the 13th of November at the WRAL studios broadcasted throughout the Carolinas , Virginias and parts of Ohio on the 17th and 18th of November

This show mainly shows highlights of the huge card in Cincinnati and interviews and VTR’s from wrestlers talking about the highlights and consequences of the card.

The show starts with a clip from the end of the Television Championship match with Jumbo Tsuruta pinning Mike Rotunda.  The go to Bob and David with Jumbo and his manager JJ Dillon.  Dillon says that it is a sad day for him but he got offers that he could not refuse.  He is going to concentrate on one wrestler who will debut in two weeks.  He has sold the contract of Jumbo Tsuruta to a new manager.  Jumbo will be part of his stable.  David asks if Waldo Von Erich or Billy Spears.  JJ responds that it will be the manager who Jumbo comes out with in two weeks.   David asks about his other wrestler Paul Jones, who JJ says that his wrestler will be going after the US title and Terry Allen needs to keep the belt shiny because it will be coming to Dillon Enterprises.

COMMERICAL BREAK

Bob and David are with a worse for the wear but a champion, U.S. Heavyweight Champion Terry Allen.  They go to a clip of Allen pinning an overconfident Paul Jones and the disgust of JJ Dillon.  Allen says that it is the power of the fans.  They give him just the little bit more he needs to win matches.  He wants all of the Jones’, Tsuruta’s and Iron Sheik’s of the world to underestimate him.  Keep it up as it gives him just that little bit more he needs to keep the United States Championship.
The is still shot of a check for $100,000.00 and a chyron saying the 10 minute challenge is coming soon to Mid Atlantic Wrestling.

COMMERICAL BREAK with Localized Promos

We come back and show the last five minutes of the Rick Steamboat and Jay Youngblood match with the NWA World Tag Team Champions.  Steamboat and Youngblood are with Bob and David as well as NWA representative George Becker.  Becker says that every time the NWA World Tag Team Champions come through the Mid Atlantic Area they try every way in the world to not have to face these two men.  They have disqualified themselves and used every dirty trick in the book.  The NWA Board has decided that in a mandatory defense in Chattanooga Tennessee the #1 contenders Jay Youngblood and Rick Steamboat will face Jimmy Garvin and Gino Hernandez inside a steel cage.  Steamboat and Youngblood thanks Becker and they both know that with the teams being put on an even playing field that Jay and Ricky stand a great chance of coming out of the match the NWA World Tag Team Champions.

COMMERICAL BREAK

They go to a VTR of Dusty Rhodes pinning Harley Race multiple bionic elbows.  They then go to Dusty backstage at the Cincinnati Gardens saying that Harley put up a great fight but Dusty had just that little more to come out on top.  Dusty hears that he will be coming back to Mid Atlantic for their big card on 31st of December for another NWA World Title defense.  It doesn’t matter if its US Champion Terry Allen, The Iron Sheik, Paul Jones or Jumbo Tsuruta he will defend this belt against all comers and walk out the champ.

Bob and David tell the fans that the unified Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champions are next.

COMMERICAL BREAK with localized promos.

Nelson Royal and Johnny Weaver come out with both the Mid Atlantic Tag Team Championships and the Atlantic Coast Tag Team Championships.  Royal and Weaver give commentary over the last few minutes of the match including Kollof being unable to answer to the ref due to the Weaver lock.  Weaver says that this all due to Royal.  He told Weaver that if they combined their forces and quit being put in the box of being ‘mentors’.  These two have forgotten more about wrestling than all of the tag teams around here know.  They both are adamant that they will face any tag team but Steamboat and Youngblood as they dodged them forever.  When Rick and Jay prove themselves then maybe they can get a shot, maybe.  There are other teams in Mid Atlantic Wrestling and they will get a shot now.

Bob and David thanks the fan for the watching as Bob tells them “So Long for Now!!!”

Nice rundown and catchup.

The 10 Minute Challenge?  Don't know what that is, but it sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

Boy, I am shocked that Dillon sends belt money somewhere else! My favorite part of the show was the Weaver/Royal interview. Real believable angle there.

Great stuff.

Hard for me to grasp if this was "catch up" I'm far behind in reading...this covers last two live shows.  Glad to see Cincinnati on the sched. - often falls through the cracks.  Most impressed how spotlight on Steamboat/Youngblood is being worked.  Good drama with all the titles right now.  On the new development front, I agree - Dillon baskets all the eggs, can't wait to see what this genius master stroke will be!

Good work, M-A has a bit of an amped-up energy going on.
