AWA Las Vegas 11/25 Bloody Sunday in Sin City
Nov 24th, 2012, 6:57am

Las Vegas International Championship Wrestling
Las Vegas, Nevada
Dunes Hotel and Oasis Casino
Sunday November 25, 1982

In a wild bloody match for the Pacific Rim Tag Team Titles, Andre the Giant and Bruiser Brody challenge champions, The Sheik and Sheik Adnan El Kaissee.
The rulebook went out the window early as both teams tore into each other. Andre and Brody scored first blood when they took the Sheik’s foreign object and used it on him. The referee didn’t see the abuse as he was arguing with Adnan. The champions would regain the advantage bloodying Andre with the object as Brody complained to the referee. Finally, all four men got into the ring and savaged each other uncontrollably. The referee then called for a double disqualification at 14:35 but that didn’t stop the action as Andre trapped The Sheik in the corner and pounded him and Adnan broke a chair over Brody’s head. Eventually, the champions were able to make it to the back while the challengers watched from the ring.

In other bouts…

-      Jerry Lawler successfully retained the International Heavyweight Title with a win over Manny Fernandez in 25:03. After the match, Fernandez blindsided Lawler and left him a bloody mess in the ring.

-      Mil Mascaras defended his Pacific Rim Title against El Halcon in a Title vs Mask match. Halcon nearly tore off Mascaras mask, but Mil was able to dazzle Halcon winning the match with a flying body press off the top rope in 16:12. After the match, Halcon complained to the referee but eventually unmasked. He handed the mask to Mascaras, then left the ring, shamed, and went back to the dressing room as Mil raised his hand to the cheering crowd.

-      Austin Idol beat Blackjack Lanza in a Texas Death Match after 25 bloody minutes of action. Idol won after nailing Lanza with the timekeepers bell and piledriving him on the canvas.

-      Kevin Kelly and Tim Horner w/Jimmy Holiday beat Prince Maivia and Superfly Tui in a thrilling match at 17:45 when Holiday smacked Tui with his walking stick.

-      Billy Anderson beat Jules Strongbow in 8:33.

-      Ricky Rickard used a missile dropkick to beat Bill White at 9:32.

-      Red Dog Lane beat Larry Jones in 7:01.

An amazing tag team main event. Great effort by the Sheiks in even staying with Andre and Brody. Looks like Lawler isn't finished with Fernandez. The mask vs. mask match was really something to see. Idol was impressive beating the veteran Lanza like he did. I like what Holiday has done with Horner and Kelly.

Great card.
