THANKSGIVING STAR WARS
NOVEMBER 22, 1982
REUNION ARENA  
DALLAS,TEXAS
 
1.      Jim Cornette enters the ring, takes the house mic from Mark Lowrance and introduces “Every woman’s dream and every husband’s nightmare, the greatest tag team in the world today….Beautiful Bobby and Loverboy Dennis, THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS”! They didn’t sign up for an easy first match in Texas as they take on Iceman Parsons and Johnny Rich! It’s a close and very exciting match, but Condrey demolishes Rich with a facebuster  followed by a top rope kneedrop and pin by Bobby at the 10:58 mark. The Midnight Express looks awesonme in their debut!
2.      Dr. D< David Shults promised to hurt his first opponent in WCCW and , unfortunately for Salavtore Bellome, he keeps his promise. Ref Bronko Lubich stops the match after Shults piledrives Bellom on the concrete floor. Bellomo is carried off on a stretcher and Shults gets on the mic and says that next time, it will be a Von Erich!
3.       Moondogs Rex & Spot(w/Mr. JR) take on Scott McGhee & Chris Adams. Early on, the scientific skills of the Brits keep the ‘dogs off balance and at a  disadvantage . Surpeisingly, Scott & Chris hold their own when Spot & Rex turn the match into a brawl The Dallas crowd goes wild when McGhee pins Spot with an inside cradle at the 11:09 mark!
4.      Mr. JR brings the Mongolian, Killer Khan in to face Killer Tim Brooks in a battle of Killers.  Brooks takes it right to Khan, hammering away on the Mongolian. Khan breaks rules to gain control, but Brooks gives it right back to him and soon, it looks like Brooks will be the winner. Kahn comes back with a chop to the throat, followed by a backbreaker and a kneedrop off the middle turnbuckle to win the battle of the Killers as the fans are shocked by the result!
5.      Fritz Von Erich comes down to accept Sgt. Slaughter’s Cobra Clutch Challenge. As Don Kernodle stands by, Fritz is seated and Slaughter applies the cobra clutch. Fritz manages to reach back with his free hand and apply the claw! Amazingly, Slaughter is able to hold onto the cobra even after blood comes from his head as a result of the claw! Finally, Slaughter’s grip starts to weaken and Kernodle grabs Slaughter’s riding crop and jams it into Fritz’s side! Kevin Von Erich runs in and saves his dad from further punishment!
6.      Stan Hansen puts his American Title on the line against Mil Mascaras. Hnasen’s strategy seems to be weakening the masked man’s back. Hansen even resorts to taking Mil out of the ring and ramming his back into the ring post.  Hansen looks to be on his way to a win as he applies the Brazos Valley Backbreaker(aka Boston Crab) in the middle of the ring, but Mascaras makes an incredible escape and comeback. A Mascaras dropkick sends Hansen out of the ring. Hansen grabs a chair. And when Mascaras comes out after him, Hansen waffles Mascaras with the chair! Scott Casey comes to ringside. Hansen hands the chair to Casey and then holds Mil in place! Scott shakes his head and throws the chair to the floor! Casey is leaving! Hansen throws Mil back into the ring and eventually gets the pin at the 20 minute mark after Terry Funk, who had come to ringside, trips Mil during a top rope maneuver to set  up Hansen’s lariat and the pinfall win.
7.      Terry & Dory Funk put the Texas Titles on the line against Kerry & Kevin Von Erich in a match where the loser of the fall will leave World Class! Kerry and Kevin dominate the early going . The tide turns when Stan  Hansen comes to ringside and distracts Kerry leading to him missing a dropkick on Dory. The Funks isolate Kerry and work over his leg. Dory applies  the spinning toehold, but Kerry kicks out and Dory goes flying headfirst into the corner and his head hits the ring post! Dory Funk, Jr. is busted open! Kerry gets to his feet and applies the IRON CLAW!  Terry tries to interefere, but Kevin dropkicks him out of the ring! Hansen is on the ring apron and Kevin dropkicks him to the floor! Kerry has Dory on his back! On…two…THREE!!!!!!! KERRY & KEVIN ARE TEXAS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS AND DORY FUNK JR. IS FORCED TO LEAVE WORLD CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8.      MAIN EVENT:”We Are The Champions” plays, bringing Dusty Rhodes to the ring. As Dusty jukes and jives in the ring, David comes out, riding a horse with “Texas When I Die” blasting. David dismounts at ringside, gives a young lady a yellow rose and a kiss on the cheek, then enters the ring. Stan Hansen and Terry Funk enter the ring. Funk gets on the mic and says that whoever wins will have to deal with either himself or Stan Hansen! Hansen grabs the mic and tells Scott Casey that he doesn’t know what his problem is, but the Double Cross Gang plans on solving it!
Early, on David Von Erich uses his speed to gain an advantage on Dusty. Rhodes comes back and rocks David with rights and lefts and a series of bionic elbows! David applies the Iron Claw and busts the champ open with it! David looks like he has the title in his grasp, but Dusty bodyslams his way out of the claw and then goes to work on David’s legs.  After sveral minutes of that, Rhodes applies the figure four! David is in big trouble as Dusty has the hold applied in center ring! David manages to roll over and reverse the hold! Rhodes slaps the mat and yells in pain, but won’t submit! Finally, Rhodes rolls to the ropes and the ref breaks the hold. David really takes it to Rhodes now and dominates the next several minutes. With five minutes left in the match, David hits the high knee and sends Rhodes  reeling into the corner. Rhodes comes running out and David applies the sleeper! Rhodes is fading. In desperation, he pushes out of the hold and pushes David right into referee David manning. Manning won’t DQ Rhodes! Manning won’t let Rhodes get by with a cheap DQ loss tonight! Now, David applies the claw to Rhodes! Rhodes is on one knee…both knees…David has Rhodes on his back with the claw! Kerry and Kevin are at ringside, pounding the mat! The fans are going wild! Manning counts …ONE…TWO….THR….SOMEHOW DUSTY LIFTED A SHOULDER!!!!! The BELL RINGS! SIXTY MINUTES HAVE EXPIRED!!!! David Von Erich has taken the World Champ to the LIMIT!!!!!

A great accomplishment by going to that draw with Dusty. Hansen and Terry have no Dory and a confused Casey. Not much to deal with. Can't wait to see how the Cobra Challenge goes now with Fritz's efforts. McGhee getting an inside package on a Moondog is some deal! Shults makes an ominous proclamation. Great debut for the MX.
