Houston Wrestling Memoir

Wrestling promoter Peter Birkholz recently published a memoir called “When Wrestling Was Rasslin’: The Wild and Exciting Inside Story of the Legendary Houston Wrestling Promotion.” Birkholz attended hundreds of Houston Wrestling events during the classic age of wrestling as a child, teenager, member of a wrestling family, wrestling television show producer, and wrestling promoter. He spent over twenty-five years in the business, most of that time working closely with his uncle, Paul Boesch.
 
In this book, Birkholz tell fantastic stories about the the wrestling stars he befriended and promoted. You can find an excerpt of this memoir, as well as personal photographs that weren’t included in the book, at:

David Buckler and Alex Goff from the Online World of Wrestling have interviewed Mr. Birkholz about "When Wrestling Was Rasslin'," and made the audio interview available online.  You can find and download the podcast at this link.  
 
Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer have also interviewed Mr. Birkholz about the book, and the history of Houston Wrestling in general.  Those of you fortunate enough to have a subscription to the Wrestling Observer can find and download the podcast at this link.
