NWA Florida TV 12/1: LOD declairs Gang war!
Nov 30th, 2012, 10:17pm

Championship Wrestling from Florida presents: Southern Championship Wrestling
Telecast 12/1/82 across the Sunshine State with Gordon Solie, Buddy Colt, and Barbara Cleary

*All matches sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance*

Interviews and Announcements:

-      Gordon speaks with a very on edge Jake Roberts, surrounded by King Curtis, “Warlord” Boyd, and the Missing Link. Roberts says that the One Man Gang has stolen the Southern Heavyweight Title from him. “What that ball of blubber’s done, every time I’ve got in the ring with Barry Windham, is no less theft of my Southern Heavyweight Title than if he took the belt off my waist. I am a better wrestler than Barry Windham, but you have cost me too many chances Gang. Now, today, from this point until the Legion of Doom has run you out of Florida and this business, there will be no place for you to hide. No person you can trust. We will make you pay for what you have stolen from me. And then, I will personally end your career. A career you should have never had in the first place.”

-      Former World Champion Greg Valentine tells Buddy that he is ready to return to the top of the bill here in Florida. “Bruce Reed finally accomplished something I had doubts that he would ever do. And what he did, in beating that pathetic, deluded, freak Kevin Sullivan, he just made my job easier. You see, Dusty Rhodes proved that there is a path back to my World Title by being the Florida Heavyweight Champion. And for me, with Butch Reed holding the Florida Heavyweight Title, it will only be a matter of time before Dusty Rhodes has to face off with a man he couldn’t beat for the World Title. And then, Dusty Rhodes will know the feeling of being a former World Champion like I’ve had to know it for the past two years.”

-      Mike Graham and Brian Blair speak with Barbara Cleary, telling her that they see plenty of new faces here in Florida. “But Barbara, new faces only change who is on the path. Brian and I still have a score to settle with Jesse Barr and Mike George, regardless of them chasing the World Tag Team Champions. Face facts boys; you couldn’t beat Gino Hernandez and Jimmy Garvin. You waste all your time hunting them down without knowing that you are hunted too.” “Mike and I have a title match waiting for us. Tuesday night in Tampa, we will see you bozos in the ring and then you can worry about chasing another title; the Florida one you’ll have just lost.”

-      Florida TV Champion “Professor” Bill Ash joins Buddy with his crew in tow. “The Boss has told me that today I’ve got a rematch with that Spanish slouch, Omar Atlas. Well Atlas, the Masked Superstar #2 is more than enough insurance that you buddy Brett Sawyer won’t stick his crooked beak into my business. I’m the King of Television and there is no chance that a no-talent hack like you will take my title. I know you bozo fans want to see this match, but you're not gonna see what you're looking for”

-      Butch Reed, speaking with Gordon, is blunt. He wants Greg Valentine, anywhere and anytime. “You think the path to the World Title is gonna open back up for you if you’re Florida Heavyweight Champion? Well Valentine, your path is gonna hit a mighty big road block if you think you’re gonna get through me. I’ve busted my butt from North to South and from East to West to earn my shot at the World Title. And there is no way a blonde tree stump like you is takin’ that away from me.”

Matches for this Telecast:
-      “Warlord” Jonathan Boyd defeats “Cowboy” Tony Falk with a swinging neck breaker.

-      Steve Regal and Spike Huber defeat Perro Aguayo and the Nightmare after Steve locked the Nightmare into an abdominal stretch after Aguayo purposefully avoided a tag from his partner.

-      Mike Graham w/ Brian Blair defeats Pete Doherty with a figure four leg lock.

-      Omar Atlas defeats “Professor” Bill Ash via disqualification after the Masked Superstar #2 locked Atlas into a Cobra Clutch as he was setting up a pile driver on Ash to win the title. Referee Gilberto Roman was distracted by the Boss up on the apron, but Atlas’ struggle in the Cobra Clutch banged into the official and drew the DQ.

-      Florida Heavyweight Champion Butch Reed wrestles “the Canadian Bruiser” Bob Sweetan to a TV time limit draw in a non-title match. After the bell, Reed offers his hand to Sweetan, but the burly Canadian turned his back on the champion’s gesture.

Watched Jonathan Boyd in some old Southwest footage last night. he was in "Warlord" mode. Scary! I can imagine it is so here. Eerie promo from Roberts. Great match from Reed and Sweetan. Ash continues to impress as TV champ. his boys need to get their act together, though. Valentine taking the Dusty route makes sense. The interviews were the strength of this show, IMO.

Super stuff!
