Southwest Championship Wrestling - 2 Hours
Broadcast Saturday December 01, 982 on USA Network
Taped Wednesday November 28, 1982
at The Junction in San Antonio TX
Hosted by Steve Stack

The show opened with Steve Stack in front of the SWCW backdrop and he welcomed in all the fans, and a special welcome to all the fans new to SWCW watching on the USA Network.  He said that today, we'll be seeing Tito Santana in action, as well as "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, and in the main event.....Southwest Tag Team Champions, The Fabulous Blondes will be taking on Tully Blanchard and a partner of his choosing in a non-title matchup.  With that, let's get started.....

Match:  The Spoiler def. Ted Petty by submission with his brain claw.

The Spoiler talked to Steve Stack and said that he has another match coming up with Blackjack Mulligan for the Southwest title, and this time, he's going to take the title, and show Mulligan that his brain claw is the most vicious hold in all of wrestling.

Commercials

Tito Santana joined Steve Stack and talked about being excited to be back here in the Southwest.  He said that he plans to work his way up the ranks, and hopefully be challenging for the Southwest title in the near future.

Match:  Tito Santana def. El Halcon with a flying forearm.

The Fabulous Blondes joined Steve Stack and said that it's a disgrace they have to wrestle Tully Blanchard and a partner here today, especially without knowing who his partner is.

Tully came out, and said that the Blonde's like to run their mouths about how tough they are, but the fact is they're scared, and theyre not fighting champions.  Tully tried to goad the Blondes into changing tonight's match to a title match.  They denied.  So Tully then made them an offer.....if they'll put the belts on the line, if he and his partner loses, he'll leave Southwest for 3 months.  The Blondes thought it over and then accepted!  As Tully started to leave, The Blondes jumped him from behind!  They were starting to put the boots to him when he was saved by Blackjack Mulligan.  BJM ran off the Blondes as Tully got to his feet.  Tully then told the crowd, that Blackjack Mulligan is his partner for tonight, and he guarantees they are taking the belts from the Blondes tonight!

Match:  "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff def. Dennis Gauthier with a piledriver.

"King" Carl Fergie joined Steve Stack, and made Stack refer to him as the "King" of wrestling.  He said that he proved to Jerry Lawler who the real King is, and doesn't want to hear Lawler refer to himself that way anymore.

Commercials

Match:  Tiger Conway Jr. def. Magic Dragon with a sunselt flip.

Afterwards, he went to talk to Steve Stack, and was joined by Thunderbolt Patterson.  Patterson has a heart to heart with Conway, and told him that he would like to help guide him, because he see's a lot of potential in him.  COnway accepts the offer.

Congrats to the team of Tully and Blackjack. Nice wins by Perez and Santana. I would keep an eye on Patterson and Conway as a force. Orndorff certainly is busy, no doubt.

Good show.

Always like the Okerlund AWA report, it really is crucial to the cable feel, which was noticeable despite Stack still solo.  I don't mind the concept, maybe a little guest commentating by some of the "talkers" in the crew???

A good job working the out-of-town guys.  I can see this being a productive thing at both ends of the card.

Good job!

Great TV!  Congrats to Tully & BJM...Spoiler may take advantage of BJM's double duty...Santana will be a great addition here...Nice win for Orndorff...Lawler may have to put Cousin Carl in his place...I'm interested in how T-Bolt manages Conway...Perez looked fantastic...Orton still has some tricks up his sleeve...Great job Mickey!
