NWA Florida TV 12/15 Gang up on Ash? Wish granted!
Dec 14th, 2012, 10:42pm

Championship Wrestling from Florida presents: Southern Championship Wrestling
Telecast 12/15/82 across the Sunshine State with Gordon Solie, Buddy Colt, and Barbara Cleary

*All matches sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance*

Interviews and Announcements:

-      Brian Blair and Mike Graham tell Gordon that after the close match they had with the Florida Tag Team Champions Jesse Barr and Mike George 10 days ago in Tampa, “…we will face off with them any way we can. Mike George, you and I have a lot still to settle from when you turned your back on me. So I’ll let Brian face your wonder boy Jesse Barr. I want you all to myself and whether it’s in Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Jacksonville, Sarasota, or St. Pete, I’m gonna get some payback.”

-      The Nightmare is with Buddy Colt and the man of few words has a few for the Mexican Mad Dog, Perro Aguayo. “Time and again, when promoters put together a tag team match, they stick me with that worthless Mexican. You have showed a yellow streak a mile wide boy. Running when the going gets tough. You’re no mad dog. You’re a scalded dog and when I get you in the ring Aguayo, I’m gonna whip you like the dog you really are, if you even have the guts to show up.”

-      Florida Heavyweight Champion Butch Reed tells Barbara that if the Canadian Bruiser thinks he can walk all over him, he has another thing coming. “Past few weeks, I’ve been coming out here and hearing that man, Bob Sweetan say he can take this Florida title any time he wants. Well Bobby Sweetan, I’m not a hard man to find. There’s not another man here, as naturally athletic, naturally gifted on the microphone, as naturally handsome as Butch Reed. I am the Natural of Pro Wrestling and if you want a fight, well I’ll make you wish you hadn’t, naturally.”

-      Florida TV Champion “Professor” Bill Ash, along with the Boss and Masked Superstar #2, confront Eddie Graham who was speaking with Barbara, demanding that this week there is no match against Omar Atlas or Brett Sawyer. Graham is happy to inform them that the opponent is in a slightly different class, weight class that is… “The fans want to see you face off with a former Television Champion, the One Man Gang”

-      Southern Heavyweight Champion Barry Windham talks with Gordon about the challenge coming from Greg Valentine. “Greg was the World Champion, and nobody can take that away from him. But in the 2 years since he lost that title, where has he been? He’s been wrestling in second rate promotions, trying to steal another shot at the brass ring. Well Gordon, Florida has the best talent of any territory in wrestling. You think you belong back at the top of the mountain Valentine, well I’m the top man in Florida today. I’m the Southern Heavyweight Champion so if you want to go an hour, two out of three falls on Christmas night, you’re on. The Tampa Armory isn’t gonna be big enough to hold you and me Valentine, because I’ll show you who the real 60 minute man is in this territory.”

Matches for this telecast:
-      Brian Blair w/ Mike Graham defeats Pete Doherty with a drop kick flush to the jaw.

-      The Nightmare defeats Shane Douglas with the gord buster.

-      Florida Champion Butch Reed defeats “Bulldog” Bob Brown with a flying shoulder tackle in a non-title match.

-      The One Man Gang defeats “Professor” Bill Ash via disqualification when the Masked Superstar #2 entered the ring to prevent the OMG from delivering a 747 splash to the Florida TV Champion. The Gang instead scooped up the Superstar and dropped him with a big Samoan drop, but Ash ran with his title back to the dressing room.

-       In a stand by match, The Malenko Brothers fell to the Masked Mercenaries in what shocked the audience until the Mercenaries unmasked revealing Steve Regal and Spike Huber, who smile at the former tag champions.

-      In the TV main event, Greg Valentine defeats Omar Atlas with an elbow drop to the throat. Valentine seemed set to deliver a second until Southern Champ Barry Windham slid into the ring and the two men stared one another down as the telecast ended.

The faces get beat by the masked team?A very nice switch. Liked the promo from Windham. Great match between Ash and OMG. Reed had some heelish tendencies in his comments. HMMN!

Good TV!  Nice win for Regal/Huber...Reed really did sound heelish...Windham/Valentine may be a feud for the ages...Blair/Graham is still hot...Great stuff!
