Fourth Match. Special Match. Baba the Giant ddq. with Abdullah the Butcher w/Rock Hunter at the 7:01 mark. The Butcher went after Baba before the start of the bell but the Giatn came back to bloody the Butcher as well. Both were disqualified after refusing to follow referee Frankie Cain's instructions..

Fifth Match.  AWA Mid-South North America Heavyweight Title Match. (Champ): Akira Maeda defended against (Chall): Antonio Inoki. Inoli was vicious with Maeda with hard chops and kicks, shading the rules at times. Akira, to his credit, kept his cool and roared back to chase the challenger. At the 17:03 mark, Inoki caught Maeda in a bridge with both men's shoulders pinner. Referee Jerry Usher ruled Akira had gotten his arm up before the three count. The challenger disagreed and went for the belt. Akira knocked Antonio down twice when the challenger hit the floor for the dressing room.

---10-Minute Intermission---

Sixth Match. AWA Mid-South Brass Knuckles Title Match. (Champ): 'Bruiser' Brody by count out over (Chall): The Mysterious Shiek w/'Playboy' Gary Hart.. In a wild brawl inside and out of the ring, Brody overcame the Shiek's pencil and illegal tatics and Hart's interference to get the count out win at the 6:45 mark.

Seventh Match. AWA World's Tag Team Championship Match. (Champs): Jesse Ventura & Adrian Adonis edge out the (Challs): Mid-South Tag Team Champs the Rogeau Brothers (Jacques & Raymond). The challengers use their youth and speed to combat the strength and dirty tactics of the champs. The match went back and fourth with the Rogeaus getting the edge in the later minutes. Ventura makes the pin on Jacques using a foregin object while Adonis battles Raymond outside the ring at the 18:03 mark for a successful title defense.

Eighth Match. Losing Team Must Split for Six Months! 'Dirty' Dick Murdoch & 'Killer' Karl Kox fall to 'Playboy' Gary Hart's team of The Masked Spoiler 1# (Don Jardine) & 'Maniac' Mark Lewin at the 10:11 mark when Lewin pins Kox followin a low blow. Fick & Karl dominated the match early on until Spoiler threw Murdoch over the top rope while referee Usher was distracted. Hart nailed 'Killer' with the blackhack to set up the tainted pin.

Ninth Match. Challenge Dog Collar Match. Junkyard Dog defeated Imposter Staagger Lee with the big thump at the 12:56 mark. Wild match from start to finish with Imposter refusing to be chained up with the Dog and trying to hang him with the chain before the start of the match. Other officials got involved and finally chained Stagger Lee to JYD. The Dog dominated early on but a thumb to the throat stopped him. Stagger Lee used the chain to try to beat down the Dog but it just made him madder. JYD came back with two big thumps before putting the lengthy chain on the match and slamming Stagger Lee on top and covered for the pin and win. Stagger Lee refused to unmasked and tried running from the ring but security brought him back. Dog  pulled off the mask to reveal 'Pistol' Pez Whatley!!! The unmasked Stagger Lee jumped from the ring and headed back to the dressing room.

Real promising team in Pritchard and Mansfield. Always was a fan of Thornton. Energetic match with The Rougeaus going after Ventura and Adonis. Hart should be arrested for the robbery he got away with. Surprised that Stagger Lee was Whatley. Wonder if JYD is through with Whatley.

Great stuff.

Good work, the Main Event was a corker.  Liked the infusion of visiting talent - used well here, but I would have enjoyed a bit more promo'ing leading up to the big show.

Matsuda as champ is a very good example of the creative matchmaking.
