TRACY SMOTHERS defeated JOEL DEATON with a bulldog at 7:41.

RICKY MORTON & ROBERT GIBSON versus JUMBO TSURUTA & MASA FUCHI
This was a fast paced match similar to the other two with Tsuruta gaining the advantage over Morton with a series of suplexes. The Rock n Roll express would counter with lightning fast tags and quick double teams on both Fuchi and Tsuruta. Gibson had Fuchi in trouble with a sleeper hold. When Tsuruta tried to interfere, Gibson dropped the sleeper and met his partner Morton in the ring where the two double dropkicked Jumbo out of the ring. Morton then whipped Fuchi into the ropes and doubled him over with a shot to the stomach where Gibson finished him off with a kneelift to win the match at 11:25.

$100,000 Challenge:
DORY FUNK, JR. [C] versus MARK YOUNGBLOOD.
The match started with Funk in control and it seemed Mark at bit off more than he could chew. Mark, however, would battle back. Youngblood got the advantage on Funk with a solid dropkick that sent the veteran to the mat. Funk would outmaneuver Youngblood on the mat and when Mark went for a second dropkick, Funk sidestepped it. With Funk in control he went for his spinning toe hold. On the third cycle, Dory stooped too low and Mark caught him by the head rolling him into a small package. At 9:13, Mark Youngblood became a hundred thousand dollars richer.

Mid Atlantic Tag Team Titles:
JOHNNY WEAVER & NELSON ROYAL [C]versus KOKO B WARE & BRICKHOUSE BROWN
Royal and Weaver did not seem to be on the same page from the minute they walked into the arena. Weaver displayed his scientific skills which got the advantage over Ware and totally baffled the much younger Brown. Royal’s tactics were more controversial, using rule breaking tactics against both Ware and Brown. Brown and Ware would counter with some fast paced moves and a series of dropkicks that were successful against the older and slower champions. At certain times in the match Weaver and Royal argued strategy. It was right after a frustrated Royal had one of these arguments with Weaver that Ware was able to snare him in a sunset flip at 10:03 to get the win. After the match, Weaver and Royal argued some more and Royal left the ring in disgust. Weaver shook the hands of the new champions, Brown and Ware before leaving the ring.

Mid Atlantic Television Title:
MIKE ROTUNDO [C] versus GEORGE WELLS
Rotundo got off to a fast start, keeping Wells on the mat to neutralize Wells’ strength and size. This led to a series of counters and breaks on the ropes. Wells couldn’t match Rotundo on the mat and at one point was able to get to his feet and land a fantastic dropkick on the champion. Rotundo countered with an airplane spin a few minutes later. During the spin, referee Tommy Young was knocked to the mat by Wells flailing to escape the spin. When Rotundo released Wells he saw Young on the mat. He went over to help the referee get back to his feet. Young got back to his feet the same time Wells did. As Rotundo turned around he was nailed by a superkick from George. Rotundo was out and Wells went for the cover. The referee made the three count at 9:15 and handed Wells the belt.

No Disqualification – Loser Leaves Town Match:
J.J. DILLON w/HULK HOGAN at ringside, versus PAUL JONES
When Jones saw Dillon with the massive Hulk Hogan, he asked the referee to hold on for a second and he would be right back. Jones left the ring and went to the back. The fans heard some African Bongo Drums and other tribal music and the Jones emerged with KAMALA – THE UGANDAN GIANT, in full garb, spear and facepaint included.
Dillon and Hogan protested but to no avail. The referee allowed the match to go on as planned. Every time Hogan tried to interfere, Kamala was there to stop him. Dillon did manage some offense, but Jones had his number all night. When Jones captured Dillon in the Indian Deathlock, Hogan got in the ring. So did Kamala but it was Kamala keeping Hogan at bay with his spear while Jones got the submission on JJ at 11:29.

For the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title:
THE IRON SHEIK [C]versus ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER
The referee was very liberal with the rules in this match as both men bloodied each other up using foreign objects, mainly out of the ring, to carve into each other. The wild bizarre battle came to an end when Sheik leveled Abdullah with a double axe-handled smash off the top turnbuckles that felled the big man from Sudan like an oak tree at 10:39.

For the United States Heavyweight Title:
MAGNUM TERRY ALLEN [C]versus HARLEY RACE
This was a battle of lions from two different generations. Both men gave each other everything in their arsenals. For 27 minutes, both men wrested, fought, bled and battled each other in and outside of the ring. In the end, it was Race’s stamina and a powerful piledriver that did the young champion in at 27:45 as the older lion won the match and regained United States Heavyweight Title. After the match, Race helped Allen to his feet and shook his hand, then headed back to the dressing room.

DUSTY RHODES versus BOBBY DUNCUM
Rhodes came to the ring all fired up while Duncum looked a bit lost without JJ Dillon. Duncum sensing a night’s game plan gone awry started off using rule breaking and cheap shots against the American Dream. This strategy seemed to work for a while as Dusty seemed to have problems gaining the momentum. At one point Duncum bloodied Big Dust and went for a series of unsuccessful pins .
By the 15minute mark, the fans sensed Dusty was in trouble and started to rally behind him. Rhodes seemed to feed off the fans and fought back with a series of elbows. Duncum would gain the advantage with a monster clothesline. Bobby kept the fight to Rhodes as they went to the floor. This is where Dusty busted open Duncum, posting him several times.
The advantage went back and forth until Duncum went for a suplex but couldn’t deliver as Rhodes fell on top of him and grabbed his leg securing the pin at 29:14.

For the NWA World Tag Team Titles:
GINO HERNANDEZ & JIMMY GARVIN [C]versus RICKY STEAMBOAT & JAY YOUNGBLOOD
Jay Youngblood comes out with a bandaged knee and right away, Hernandez and Garvin go to work on him and his knee. Youngblood is clearly not 100% and the champions take full advantage of it. In the early going, Youngblood is worked over by Hernandez then by Garvin as the two switch off to continue the attack.
Steamboat and the crowd get restless as that cheer for Jay to make the tag. After numerous failed attempts, finally Youngblood tags Steamboat in. The crowd erupts as enters the ring and attacks Garvin and then Hernandez who enters illegally. Steamboat regains the advantage for his team working on Garvin’s arm and shoulder. After several minutes, Youngblood enters the ring and continues the attack until Garvin goes for the eyes and breaks Jay’s momentum.
Garvin tags in Hernandez who works on Youngblood’s leg again. And again, Jay is in trouble. Jay is able to escape by crawling through Hernandez’s legs and tags in Steamboat. Steamboat comes in and puts the battle to Hernandez. He catches Gino with a huge chop off the ropes which the momentum sends Hernandez into his own corner where he tags in Garvin.
Garvin doesn’t have much effect on Steamer as Ricky continues the attack. Steamboat suplexes Garvin and goes for a pin, but it’s broken up by Hernandez at two. Steamboat sends Garvin into the ropes and nails him with a double thrust. Garvin falls into a neutral corner. Steamboat rushes in, but Garvin moves out of the way.
Instead of Garvin making the tag he goes for Steamboat again while he is on the mat. Steamboat then, powers out of the attempted pin. Garvin tries for a suplex, but Steamer reverses it and bringing Garvin hard to the mat.
Hernandez rushes in but is met by Youngblood who greets him with a series of hard chops, knocking him from the ring. In the meantime, Steamboat has Garvin to his feet and puts him on the top of the turnbuckles. He superplexes Jimmy off the top rope and uses the bounce from the ring to roll over top of him to win the world tag team titles in 21:15.
The fans go wild as Steamboat and Youngblood parade around the ring with the belts. Garvin and Hernandez head back to the dressing room in defeat!
