Pacific Wrestling Federation December UPDATE

Pacific Wrestling Federation
December 1982
UPDATE

ROBLEY SEEKS TO MAKE NAME AT PATTERSON'S EXPENSE

Col. Buck Robley's pre-Thanksgiving attack on Pat Patterson was based in jealousy and frustration. On the November 25 edition of “Big Time Wrestling” and “Hollywood Wrestling,” claimed he had not received enough attention since arriving in the Pacific Wrestling Federation (PWF) two months previous. He simply did what he felt necessary to get that attention.
“Ever since I came here, I've been stuck in prelim matches,” Robley said. “Col. Buckly Christopher George Robley ain't no prelim bum. I'm not little talent. I'm big talent. Patterson's the big star around here, the gold standard if you will. So I knocked him of his pedestal. What of it?”
Patterson received a concussion as a result of a piledriver on concrete during the attack, and missed approximately a month of in-ring action.
Robley was suspended two weeks for the attack, then did indeed begin receiving higher profile matches. Patterson's friend Ray “The Crippler” Stevens engaged Robley in a series of violent encounters.

U.S. CHAMP DODGES CHALLENGE FROM CRUSHER BLACKWELL?

New United States Heavweight Champion King Kong Bundy claims to be willing to take on all challengers, but is unwilling to have a match with Jerry “Crusher” Blackwell.
“He is not worthy of a title shot,” Bundy's manager, the Grand Wizard said. “The United States Title is very prestigious, and should only be defended against top competition. Jerry Fatwell simply does not qualify. The only athletic achievement he is capable of is competing in an eating contest. King Kong Bundy is a fit, trim, hard as solid rock 400 lb. Wrecking machine. He has proven this in the ring against the best that the PWF has to offer, and now that he has earned the U.S. Title, this man deserves to only face the best!”
“What the Wizard is saying, Fatwell, is that you're just not in my league,” Bundy said. “Who have you beat, anyway?”
Blackwell has been worked his way thru all competition thrown his way with astonishing speed. Cyclone Negro, Gene Lewis and the Grand Wizard's other charge, “Crazy” Luke Graham. Whatever Bundy and the Wizard may think, Blackwell gets his shot on December 21 at the Cow Palace.

SAMOANS SOLIDFY CONTROL OF TAG TITLES

The Wild Samoans, Afa and Sika won the International Tag Titles from “Wild” Bill and Scott “Hogg” Irwin on November 23, and have not looked back since. In return bout wins over the Irwins, as well as in matches against Black Gordman and the Great Goliath, they have looked near invincible.
“This is what we do, brah,” Afa said. “We're brothers, and we've got each others' backs.”
“Anybody that thinks they can take these belts is welcome to try,”
Sika said.

ROBINSION FACES SEVERAL STIFF CHALLENGES TO TV TITLE

World Television Champion Billy Robinson has had several challengers to deal with in recent weeks. Among them, Bugsy McGraw continues to cause the most problems.
Robinson has pinned McGraw in longer, non-televised matches with within the 10-minute time limit T.V. Title matches dictate, neither side has been able to reach a decision.
“It's just a matter of time, baby, it's just a matter of time,” McGraw said. “I'm gonna' be the T.V. champ, and there ain't nothin' ol' Billy can do about it. His ratings are down, and before you know it, I'm going to cancel his title reign. You can bank on it, baby!”
Other challengers taking Robinson to the limit include Riki Choshu and Dos Caras.

Choshu, Caras, and McGraw? A real grab bag of styles. Kudos to the TV champ Robinson. Blackwell not being an athlete? Bundy can't talk. Robley taking things into hia own hands was awesome. Love The Samoans doing their own promos.

Solid catch-up.

Good teaser type update.  Really good seeing depth being given to a big money program like Bundy & Blackwell.  Could be "the" big thing to happen in these parts - no disrespect to the other good things.

Good stuff!  Robley may have picked the wrong guy to pick on in Patterson...Bundy/Blackwell could be seriously good....Love the Samoans here, they would be so over in the Bay area...Great stuff!

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience!
