GCW: Rome 1/10/83 The Final Snake in the Grass!
Jan 12th, 2013, 10:42am

Memorial Gym
Rome, Georgia January 10, 1983 7 PM
Referee: Tommy Weathers

Davey O’Hannon defeats Jerry Grey with a bulldog @ 7:11.

Barry Horowitz defeats The Cheetah Kid after Horowitz catches a flying body press by the masked man in mid-air. Horowitz turns it into a powerslam @ 8:03.

Mike Doggendorf/Thunderbolt Patterson vs. Kurt Von Hess/Karl Von Shotz
Patterson and his protégée Doggendorff work well together to hurt the back of Von Shotz. In the end, Patterson hits a running leg drop on Karl, which is followed up by a shoulder breaker from Doggendorff for the win @ 9:47.

Jerry Brisco vs. Cowboy Ron Bass w/Sir Oliver Humperdink
The younger Brisco wins by DQ @ 10:05 when Humperdink gets involved. Humperdink clubs Brisco in the back of the head on a criss-cross and Weather catches it. After the bell, Bass has Jerry ties up in the ropes and Hump gets in some cheap shots.

Jack comes out to break it up and stays got the next match.

Jack Brisco vs. Black Bart
Weathers sends both Bass and Humperdink to the locker room. They protest but, eventually, comply after a big pre-match argument. Bart looks good without all the help but does make a big mistake. He thinks Brisco is out and mounts the top rope for his Texas Compacter finish. Brisco rolls away and clamps on a figure four to counter. Bart tries to get to the ropes but has to give up @ 13:06.

******INTERMISSION******

Six-Man Tag
Masked Superstar/Dory Funk, Jr/Tony Atlas vs. Jim Duggan/Mike Rotundo/Ted DiBiase w/James J. Dillon

The crowd and the wrestlers are surprised, when DiBiase comes out by himself and gets in the corner with Viper Gold. After a period of dominance by Funk, Rotundo gets in a blind tag to DiBiase. Ted blindsides his fellow second generation grappler. The heels hurt the right leg of the former world champ.

The advantage goes back and forth with numerous near falls. The win comes when Dillon passes a glove to DiBiase. Weathers is busy with action on the floor. He doesn’t see DiBiase clobber ‘Star from behind. The National champ is out! DiBiase applies a camel clutch for Weathers when he turns around. The point is moot because Superstar is out @ 23:04.

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience!
