January 19, 1983 Bell 7:30 US Champion Harley Race put his title on the line against Hulk Hogan managed by Buddy Rogers. Before the match started, Rogers and Race had some words for each other. It was evident neither man had much use for the other. Once the match began, it was all Hogan. Hogan’s size and strength in the early part of the match made Race look slow and overmatched. This might’ve been a ploy by the US Champion as by the 15 minute mark the tide was turning. Race started to get the upper hand and Hogan seemed at a loss to counter some of the champions holds. At around 20 minutes into the match, Hogan surprised Race with a running clothesline that sent the champion down. Hogan tried for a quick cover but only got two. Hogan went for a legdrop but missed. Both Hogan and Race were slow to get to their feet, but Hogan recovered first and slammed Harley back down to the match. Confident victory was assured, Hogan with a hand gesture of the belt around his waist, taunted the crowd. Then Hogan tried to get Race in a piledriver, but the champion backflipped him over the top rope. Referee Tommy Young ruled it was accidental, but Race went out of the ring after Hogan. The two men fought outside of the ring ignoring Young’s 10 count and both were counted out at 26:19.

Sunday January 20, 1983 Bell 2pm. In the Main Event, Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood put their NWA World Tag Team Titles on the line against Hulk Hogan and Larry Zbyszko with Buddy Rogers. The challengers got off to a fast start with Hogan being able to use his strength against both Ricky and Jay. After slamming Youngblood to the mat, Hogan spent some time flexing his muscles. With his back turned to Youngblood, jay was able to make the tag Steamboat who scaled the turnbuckles and nailed Hogan with a missile dropkick that sent the titan sprawling across the ring. When Hogan tagged in Zbyszko, Larry fell victim to the fast flying moves from the tag champions. Hogan and Zbyszko were able to regain the advantage and worked on Youngblood’s neck. Zbyszko used a corkscrew neckbreaker on Jay and when he failed to get the three count, he tagged Hogan back in. Hogan nailed Youngblood hard with a running clothesline and tried for a pin again, but Jay’s foot was on the ropes. Hogan and Zbyszko double teamed Youngblood for several minutes, but Jay eventually escaped and snared Larry in the sleeper. Jay was able to keep the move on Zbyszko. Zbyszko, groggy and desperate for an escape, went to ram Jay face first into the turnbuckles. Unfortunately for the Elite, Zbyszko took off for Jay and Steamer’s corner. Jay let go and Larry rammed himself into the corner. Youngblood tagged Steamboat. Steamboat ran to the neutral corner and scaled the turnbuckles. Hogan when to grab Steamboat but missed as Ricky was already in flight. He connected with a beautiful flying bodypress on Zbyszko to get the win at 20:15.
