We open the show with a match underway.

Johnny War Eagle vs. Dave Kochen
One fall 10 minutes (JIP @ 4:00)

Shot of the intense-looking announce team of Milt Avruskin & Sam Menacker.

MA:  "Welcome again, wrestling fans to "Superstars of Wrestling" - we are starting on the fly as we have HUGE NEWS to report from the card in Windsor.  BIG title changes will be discussed on this show!"

SM:  "And in the ring, Johnny War Eagle may be having his BEST showing ever!  Kochen is totally on the defensive now".

The second generation Canadian stalwart has welts on his chest from Johnny's chops.  Now a double-leg dive hass War Eagle getting the Indian Death Lock solidly in place.

Let us start with the clips from Windsor.

Chris Adams submits "Downtown" Brown for the NWA Junior Heavyweight title.

MA:  "On the show today, Denny defends HIS title against Don Arakawa.  In related news, Maple Leaf has parted ways with contender Buck Zumhofe!"

Johnny Powers lays a whupping on Jerry Valiant

SM:  "Milton, Valiant made some rumblings about a chsnge of plans if he did not best Mr. Powers...we'll see what that might mean".

Joyce Grable pins Leilani Kai

SM:  "Miss Grable will have another challenger on the show today!"

Johnny Kincaid with the Boston Crab to submit Karl Von Steiger.

MA:  "THAT means The Caribbean Sunshine Boys have the tag titles, BUT!"

Post-match assault by the deposed Deutschlanders, including a VICIOUS spike pile-driver on Butcher Bond!

SM:  "In a tough decision, management has ruled that as Butcher Bond is OUT OF ACTION with an injury, the Von Steigers have FORFEITED their rematch".

The arrival of AYATOLLAH SIKI!

MA:  "A big win for this Ayatollah, defeating The Great Wojo AND NEXT UP for the Ayatollah on today's show...A TV TITLE MATCH!"

Two bruised & bleeding bulls banging heads, Mike Miller faces Gene Kiniski...
.
.
.
.
and MILLER CONTINUES THE WINNING STREAK!

SM:  "THAT is the CAPPER, fans!  Credit to Miller, as there were NO SECONDS or managers involved...an honest-to-goodness, hard-fought win!"

MA:  "Fans, if you haven't taken the opportunity of to attend a Maple Leaf Wrestling event in YOUR area, THIS is what you've been missing!  We need to hear from our sponsors!"

COMMERCIAL 1 - This week's show brought to you by Loblaws - here's William Shatner, "At Loblaws, more than the price is right."

Dick Beddoes in the interview area...UNTIL Sheik Ali, Ayatollah Siki & swathed-head-in-bandages Beautiful Bruce PUSH HIM from the podium.  Ali to departing Dick...

Ali:  "Have you ever written ONE good word about the GREAT Arab athletes of the world?  That's right...run along to you KLAN meeting!"

Ayatollah Siki has to slap Ali's shoulder for that snapper.

AS:  "Thass RIGHT, Sheik - we gonna uncover and punish ALLLL this anti-Arab sentimentality 'round these here parts!  Gonna start TODAY, infidels!  Ayatollah SIKI gonna git us the TV belt.  Hey, Bruce sit still, will ya?"

Bruce speaks!  Somehat muffled.

BB:  "Ayatollah, I'm looking...I'm looking for...WHERE OH WHERE is THE GREAT WOJO?  Ahahahaha, the can't-miss golden musclehead?  WHERE is he...the light is dim, I can not see!"

AS:  "Stop it, man, yo' killin' me!  Wojo done get to be the FUST to bow down to the THREE WISE MEN!"

ABRUPT CUT

MA:  "Errr, I think that is MORE than enough for now...three wise men, indeed!"

We have the intro's & bell for the next contest.

Match 2 Joyce Grable © vs. Donna Christanello
NON-TITLE Match One fall 10 minutes

Referee Terry Yorkston is tested by the quick moves from the ladies - leading to a fairly quick result.  After some waistlock switches, Joyce gets a belly-to-back suplex & holds the bridge.

SM:  "These ladies' matches are really adding some pizzazz to the shows!"

MA:  "And Joyce is hoping they will be regularly featured on TV AND at our live events.  Fans in Windsor were subjected to the SHOCK of seeing that Sweet Daddy Siki has aligned himself with Sheik Ali!  He faces Ron Ritchie for the TV belt NEXT!"

COMMERCIAL 2 - Today's show is sponsored in part by your local Midas Muffler location

We have another clip from Windsor.

SM:  "Well, we could only show a BIT of that match between big Moose Morowski and the madman Abdullah the Butcher.  It turned into a bloody display, but credit Moose Morowski for putting up a WHALE of an effort".

Now, Beautiful Bruce, groping with arms outstretched, leads in THE AYATOLLAH!  A LOT of yammering from Siki until Ron Ritchie enters.  Patdowns, belt display, instructions and here we go.

Match 3 Ron Ritchie © vs. Ayatollah Siki w/ Beautiful Bruce
MAPLE LEAF CANADIAN TELEVISION TITLE
One fall 10 minutes

SM:  "Milton, this is yet ANOTHER big test for Ron, he is facing better competition of late..."

And Sheik Ali has taken up a position on the fringes of the floor, barking instructions for the impaired Bruce to pass on.  With or without that assistance, the swaggering Siki is looking very determined.  Wayne Cashman is needing to pull the Ayatollah up from an extended choke on the champ.  Siki throws Ron out in a blind rage - right near where Beautiful Bruce is groping about!  They bump & Bruce instinctively reacts with a strangling grip himself!  Referee drops down to sort this out & place the befuddled Bruce in his proper corner...meanwhile, the Ayatollah flies off the apron with a knee to Ritchie's head!

MA:  "That REALLY staggered Ron...I'm not liking the looks of things, here, Sam!"

Siki rolls Ron in...a PILEDRIVER!  Oh, BB likes the looks of things - he whips his protective sunglasses off and seems to be seeing MUCH better!  Sheik Ali is greatly impressed, he is jumping & clapping.  Ayatollah Siki is telling the crowd it's ALLLL OVER!  He drops down for a pin!
.
.
.
1!
.
.
.
.
2!
.
.
.
PULLS RON UP!  ANOTHER PILEDRIVER - you can count to 100!

Wisely, Cashman rolls Ron out as the incoming Ali & Bruce are in with a WILD celebration!  The ref has the belt handed in & presents it to the irresistible Ayatollah.  Norm dispenses with any interviews as the trio's celebration continues to great disapproval.

COMMERCIAL 3

We return with a replay of the reign of Ritchie being ended.

MA:  "The audience is still in an uproar as we now put the name of Ayatollah Siki on the GOLDEN LADDER.  Fans, the Canadian Red Cross ALWAYS has a need for blood donations, especially after the holiday season.  Today's SUNshine Girl, Doris is a volunteer with the Red Cross, please come in..."

Glum Sam barely takes note that the young lass all in white is a bit of a hottie.  She withdraws a card from the barrel that reads...JOHNNY WAR EAGLE.

Sam slides the card in on the bottom slot next to Siki's.

SM:  "Thanks, nurse, do you have something for a headache?  I am NOT looking forward to ANY sort of stretch with Siki on the show every week!  War Eagle had a good match today but he is a long-shot to upset this zealot, seems to be wanting to start some sort of HOLY WAR crusade!"

Norm plugs the live shows coming up...Saturday in Oshawa, Sunday in Vaughn, Monday in Bowmanville, Thursday in St. Catherines, Friday in Strathroy and next Sarurday February 2nd in Kingston

Match 4 Nick DeCarlo vs. Convict #1
One fall 10 minutes

The doppelganger jailbirds are using the old identity-switching to full advantage..."Rocky" Ed Boulder is out & chases one away...

MA:  "Sammy, I think Ed may have pinched the wrong convict...the one he is putting the grab on seems a bit SMALLER!  One of these felons is closer to Ed's size, and that may be who DeCarlo is dealing with".

SM:  "We have decided one is bigger - but is it Convict #1 or #2?  Oh, Nick might not be able to testify on that..."

As the man in stripes has jolted Nick with a jaw-jacker.  Nick is wobbling & is dropped by a backslide in to the pinfall.

COMMERCIAL 4

We return and Milton does a plug!  He holds up a newsletter to the camera.

MA:  "Sam, there are some GREAT fans in the area - some of the more industrious young guys in Toronto are putting out an unofficial MAPLE LEAF SLAM! NEWSLETTER!  Fans from ALL OVER are being kept up-to-date with all the goings-on".

Sam plays along, he picks up another copy and pretends to scan the headlines.

SM:  "I've seen it, it IS really very good with news from all over...Young Oliver that heads it up....sorry, the name is GREG Oliver, has a real knack!"

MA:  "Yes he is a fine reporter and has a top ten rankings list every issue..."

SM:  "Here is the address on the screen to subscribe...There certainly will be changes in the top ten rankings this month!  I suppose.  But, I am not going to be surprised if there might be a few MORE changes around here".

Sort of an enigmatic, knowing expression going for "Slamming" Sammy.

Don Arakawa has entered in the ring and takes advantage of some mic time.

DA:  "Denny Brown have very good effort with Englishman Adams, this make ALL light heavyweights look good here.  Very gracious Denny to give me title match.  VERY ungracious, obnoxious Rock and Roller deserve suspension!  HE attack Arakawa last week, not ME attack HIM..."

Norm retrieves the mic.

NK:  "We are short of time, Arakawa-san...Zumhofe's situation IS up in the air but the promoters have some new Light Heavyweights coming soon".

Match 5 - Denny Brown © vs. Don Arakawa
One fall TV time limit
NWA CANADIAN LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

We have the intro's and bell but we need a break, fans!

COMMERCIAL 5

MA:  "We had hoped this match would have a longer duration, but as TV time is running short, it will be just under 8 minutes...Next week on "Superstars of Wrestling", we'll, of course, have the Ayatollah's first TV title defense.  As well, we'll hear from the Hollywood Bombshells and the Main Event has Killer Joe Nova facing Iron Mike Sharpe".

In the ring, it is thrust-and-parry, as both are countering each other smartly.  At the desk, Sam Menacker's coffee mug is empty...he puts it in a box next to the desk.

SM:  "Some fine scientific action taking place but I wonder if time will run out..."

Voice trails off - Brown is untangling himself from the ropes after a monkey-flip.

Timekeeper Bronco Alcock intones, "TWO MINUTES remaining...TWO minutes".

MA:  "Once again, Mr. Menacker, you may be right on top of it!  Sam, I know you wanted no fanfare or any to-do, but let's tell the fans - you ARE taking some time off!"

A series of reversed inside cradles on the mat is a standoff, Yorkston makes a break.

SM:  "Milton, I've been announcing this great sport in FOUR decades, now!  From Boston to Cleveland, Indianapolis and Australia...St. Louis and now in Canada.  It has been a GREAT life, I've made hundreds of friends, married a wrestler or two, as well!  But, I'll be...I MEAN LADY WRESTLER!  Take care, everyone!"

And the fans make the countdown of the last seconds.  At the desk, Sam pats Milt on the shoulder.  He picks up the box of personal effects...

What's this?  Nurse Doris is out with a bottle of aspirin!  Sam greets her with a rascally grin & departs with Doris, waving to the audience.

Sorry to see Ritchie fall. The new role for Siki has raised back up his career. Can't wait to see how Miller and Powers progress. So long, Sammy. You accomplished a lot.

Great show.

Too bad to see Ritchie lose, but with Siki's new gimmick, he had to get the big win to solidify himself. Other than that, solid show with the aftermath of the big arena show.
