  The matches are taped at the Coliseo de Catano in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Wednesday January 16th 1983 and broadcasted on throughout Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago via WAPA TV on January 20th 1983    
     
   The show opens to the instrumental of Herbie Hancock’s Rock It with videos of Tiger Jeet Singh, Mr. Canada, The Invaders, The Assassins, Chicky Starr, Hercules Alaya Jack Venneo, El Gran Apollo, NWA World Light Heavyweight Champion Chris Adams, NWA World Tag Team Champions Rick Steamboat and Jay Youngblood, NWA World Heavyweight Champion David Von Erich and ending up with the North American Champion and the pride of Puerto Rico CARLOS COLON!!!
 
Hugo and Rickin welcome the fans to another episode of SUPER ESTRELLAS OF LUCHA LIBRE and do they have an action packed show for them.  We will hear from today Bruiser Brody, NWA World Heavyweight Champion David Von Erich, North American Champion Carlos Colon and his partner Abdullah the Butcher who will be in action.  We will review our big show at Hiram Bonham Stadium on the 9th of February.  We will get our first look at the NWA World Tag Team Champions Rick Steamboat and Jay Young blood who will be taking on DC Drake and Damien Kane and in our main event, former NWA World Heavyweight Champion will be in action against Jack Venneo.
Let’s go to the ring for our first contest.
 
The Great Kabuki with Barbaras and a bandaged up Kamala in his corner versus Rick Ferrera
 
Kabuki looks impressive against Ferrera using martial arts and strikes to keep Rick on the mat.  A savate kick to the back of Ferrera’s head leads to a pin and a win for the man from Singapore.
 
Barbaras is angry about last week, as he joins Hugo and Rickin.  He says that the last thing they were expecting was the madman from the Sudan, but they are confident in one thing, that Colon will not be able to control him.  Abdullah has a mind of his own and no amount of money, no words or amount of prayer will keep him under control for long.  He wishes Colon the best of luck but everyone including Carlos knows he will end up on the wrong end of Abdullah.
 
Rickin and Hugo tells the fans that the NWA World Tag Team Champions are next on SUPER ESTRELLAS OF LUCHA LIBRE.

Hugo and Rickin go straight to the ring for the NWA World Tag Team Champions on SUPER ESTRELLAS OF LUCHA LIBRE.
 
Rick Steamboat and Jay Youngblood against DC Drake and Damien Kane.
 
The World Tag Team Champions have some problems at the beginning with Kane and Drake, with the heel team using some dastardly tactics.  Steamboat gets a tag from Youngblood takes over on the heel tag team and eventually wears down Kane.  A top rope chop followed up by a flying bodypress leads to the pin and the win with Youngblood keeping Drake from making the save.  
 
Jay and Rick are with Hugo and Rickin, after the match.  They both love the weather here in Puerto Rico and are looking forward to coming back and defending against teams like the Invaders and the Assassins, who are two of the top teams in the NWA.  Rickin tells the men that next week they have a non title match against the North American Tag Team Champions The Assassins.  Youngblood says that the Assassins are a tough team but he knows that because he can count on his partner they can come out on top of any situation.  Rick agrees and says Jay is the best partner anyone could ask for.  Rickin tells the fans that coming up next on SUPER ESTERLLAS OF LUCHA LIBRE is the vicious Abdullah the Butcher with his tag team partner the pride of Puerto Rico Carlos Colon.

Hugo and Rickin stop Carlos as he leads Abdullah to the ring.  They both ask Carlos if he has gone crazy.  Carlos says that men like Barbaras, Kabuki and Kamala forced him to do desperate things.  He saw the damage that they did to one of the toughest men that he had ever seen in Hercules Alaya and he knew that he had to call in backup.  Colon just hopes that Abdullah is enough to run them off of the island.  Abdullah is ready in the ring, as Carlos goes to ringside and they go to the next contest on SUPER ESTRELLAS OF LUCHA LIBRE.

Krofatt picked the proverbial short straw today and pays for it in the ring.  Abdullah doesn’t back down , but listens to the ref for the most part and breaks before a five count which amazes Hugo.  A slam followed by a crushing elbow drop ends it in less than four minutes.  
 
Rickin and Hugo are joined by Chicky Starr, who continues to rant about Mr. Canada.  He would love to fight him right now, but the 9th of February will have to do.  Running Parisi back to Canada and shutting him up would make him and the people of Puerto Rico happy. Hugo tells him that Mr. Canada is next and Starr begs to stay at the broadcast area to offer his insights.  The announcers agree and tell the fans that all three of them will announce the next match on SUPER ESTRELLAS OF LUCHA LIBRE.

They go straight to the ring as Mr. Canada faces Steve Lawler.  The masked Canadian has words for Starr throughout.  Chicky says he needs to concentrate on the man in the ring who gets two counts every time the masked man shoots off his lip.  Lawler gets control for a bit but a handful of trunks turns the tide on a schoolboy and Canada gets the win.  
 
Bruiser Brody joins Rickin and Hugo and has some harsh words for Harley Race.  He has chased him in Puerto Rico and the states.  If he were a real man he would fight instead of run.  If Race wants to find him, he need not look for more than his scarred up forehead, his bushy hair and most of all and something Race doesn’t have, the most guts in the dressing room.  
 
Hugo and Rickin say that the aforementioned Harley Race will be facing Jack Venneo next on SUPER ESTRELLAS OF LUCHA LIBRE.

We come back to the ringside with Hugo and Rickin along with Jack Venneo.  Venneo still believes that he is on the greatest streak of his life.  He is convinced that a big win over Harley Race could lead to a match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.  He knows that it is a huge mountain to climb but he thinks he is ready for it.

Harley Race versus Jack Venneo
 
Harley takes control early and Venneo takes a quality butt whoopin’ through out but kicks out or gets to the ropes at two.  At the eight minute mark, Bruiser Brody comes to the ringside area and starts cheering on Venneo, to everyone’s surprise.  When Harley gets in Brody’s face wanting to know what is going on.  Brody delivers a huge right hand, which stumbles Harley backward into Venneo, who grabs Race in a schoolboy and amazingly gets a three count.  The crowd goes wild, Venneo is stunned and Race is flabbergasted.
 
Hugo and Rickin say that they will be back with an updated card for Hiram Bonham Staduim on the 9th of Feb.
