Southwest Catchup:

Blackjack Mulligan - Tully Blanchard:

The battles between these two have been hotly contested all over the territory, with both claiming wins.  The battles have escalated to brutal and bloody affairs.  Tully came on tv two weeks ago wearing a neckbrace and claiming that Blackjack tried to break his neck with his lariat clothesline.  He then placed a $10,000 bounty on BJM for any man who could injure him.  The following week while Mulligan was wrestling on tv, The Bounty Hunters David and Jerry Novak stormed the ring with chairs and went to work on Mulligan.  They stretched him out and held his arm on the apron and whacked it with a chair a couple of times before Tito Santana and Manny Fernandez came top his rescue.  The prognosis was not good, as it was learned that his arm had been broken in the attack.  He vows revenge on Tully though, and says that the cast on his arm won't keep him out of their coming matches, and in fact makes him more dangerous as his lariat arm is now covered in plaster.

It was announced that The Bounty Hunters have been banned from Southwest Wrestling for the attack for an indefinite amount of time, and no less than six months.

Jerry Lawler - Carl Fergie:

Lawler returned to the Southwest as AWA World Heavyweight Champion, and King Carl Fergie claimed that he was the #1 contender since had beaten Lawler on Thanksgiving.  Lawler agreed to give Fergie a title match, as long as he put his crown on the line as well.  On Jan. 13, Lawler piledrove his way to victory, retaining his title, and re-claiming his title of 'King'.  Fergie is disputing the result, but for now, Jerry "The King" Lawler is still the AWA Champion.

Cable TV Title:

On the last episode I was able to post, Mando Guerrero scored a surprise win on champion Paul Orndorff to win the belt.  The following week, Killer Brooks issued a challenge, but Mando responded that it's up to the matchmakers.  Brooks responded later in the hour saying that he would just beat up his brother Hector instead.  On Jan. 13, Brooks battled Hector, and narrowly won when Hector missed a dive.  Brooks then took his bull rope and tried to hang Hector with it, wrapping it around his neck and throwing him over the top rope.  The following week on tv, and angry Mando accepted the challenge.  Brooks went on to defeat Mando that day to claim the belt.  He then also tried to hang Mando, but was stopped by officials before too much damage was done.

Fantastics - Fabulous Blondes:

The Southwest Champions, The Fantastics, have been battling former champions The Fabulous Blondes all over the territory.  The battles have been close with The Fantastics usually winning by DQ.  A couple of matches have even went to the full hour time limits.  More matches are signed between these two teams.

Other News:

- The brother duo of Ted & Jerry Oates have debuted, and scored two wins on tv already.

- From the beaches of Venice Beach CA, Mark Van Halen has been sending in VTR announcing his imminent arrival in the area.  He's claiming that he is going to breeze through the competition here, and show all the ladies what a real man is.  He says all the cowboys here are going to be pushovers.

- Manager Bob Orton SR. has said that he has a new charge coming to Southwest very soon.

- Eddie Mansfield was scheduled to return, but has thought better of it and has left the area.

- Manny Fernandez has a series of matches scheduled with Southwest Heavyweight Champion The Spoiler coming up.

- Tiger Conway Jr. is still hoping to get a match signed with Tully Blanchard to dish out payback for Tully sidelining his mentor Thunderbolt Patterson.  Still no word on the condition of Patterson or if he will return at all.

- A short video has been playing on tv the last couple of weeks saying that "The Warlord Is Coming".  No news on what this even means.

Good to see Killer brooks with gold. That cast could make Mulligan and his lariat the bane of Tully's existence, if Tiger doesn't get him first. Van Halen and the Warlord look formidable.

Good stuff coming from SWCW.

Good bulletin, there is exciting stuff in place to move ahead with, for sure.

$10 K for the Novaks, no wonder they did little up here, massively underpaid!
