Interviews on this show:

- Southwest Tag Team Champions, The Fantastics had words for the Fabulous Blondes before their non-title match on todays show.  They feel they have proven they are better than the Blondes, and hope that today is the end of it all.

- The Fabulous Blondes said that this thing with the Fantastics won't be over until they have took back the Southwest Tag Team Titles.

- Blackjack Mulligan said that he is going to wrap this plaster cast around the head of Tully Blanchard on the 14th in Houston, and show him that Tully is still a pup in this big dog's world.

- Manny Fernandez said that Southwest Champion the Spoiler can't run anymore.  The contract is signed for a title match on the 14th in Houston, and he plans on taking that belt.

- Tito Santana said that he is still hoping to get a shot at Killer Brooks' Cable TV Title.  He feels he can beat the Killer in a straight up match.

- Tully Blanchard said that Blackjack Mulligan is crazy, and he shouldn't have to get back in the ring with him since BJM tried to break his neck.  But on the 14th in Houston, he'll finish the job that the Bounty Hunters started, and finish the career of Mulligan.

Matches on this show:

- Ted & Jerry Oates def. The Texas Broncos

- Tito Santana pinned Dennis Stamp with a flying forearm

- Southwest Champion, The Spoiler def. Sam Houston with the Brain Claw in a non-title bout

- Cable TV Champion Killer Brooks retained against Roberto Soto with a reverse neckbreaker.

- Southwest Tag Team Champions, The Fantastics fought The Fabulous Blondes to a tv time limit draw.  Only about 10 minutes of the bout was shown on tv, but the rest was recorded for the 1/2 hour Sunday show.

AWA Newscenter w/ Gene Okerlund on this show:

- Okerlund talked about the cryptic message that has been playing that says only "The Warlord is Coming...".  He has no news to report, and fears what it might mean.

- He ran another VTR featuring Mark Van Halen.  Halen comes across as very brash and confident.  In this one, he was lying on a beach in California and talked about how stupid all the cowboys in Texas are, and how all the women there are going to go crazy for him when he debuts.  He'll be in Houston on the 14th.

- Okerlund wrapped it up by talking about the card at The Summitt in Houston Texas on Valentines Day:

Southwest Title:  The Spolier defends against Manny Fernandez
Southwest Tag Titles:  The Fantastics defend against The Fabulous Blondes
Grudge Match:  Blackjack Mulligan vs. Tully Blanchard
Mark Van Halen debuts

Half Hour Sunday show shown in local syndication:

On this show, the entirety of the Fantastics vs. Fabulous Blondes match was shown that was cut short from the USA show.  The two teams fought to a double countout at 25:00.  This took up the entirety of the program.

Mulligan and Blanchard has wings. This could be a GREAT money feud in Texas. Blanchard is coming into his own in 83 and Blackjack has enough left in the tank to make this awesome. Good work Mickey!

Mickey, the little things mean so much for you. Van Halen's personna, The Warlord coming, showing the entire match on the secondary show. All great details that have this version of SWCW reigning high. I can't wait for Mulligan-Blanchard on the 14th. Manny and Spoiler has a real life feel. Brooks having the TV title really is fun for me to see.

Great happenings for the San Antonio contingent.

Southwest is regularly the most impressive of the AWA territories. Mulligan and Tully is a great headline feud, but the supporting cast you have around them is pretty impressive in their own right. Like Tito as the up and commer. Spoiler and Manny will be a lesson in brutality.

A promotion going in the right direction.

Plenty of rivalries set here that have wings AND legs.  Fantastics / Blondes pair up well, Oates will add to this run.  Throw Spoiler/Santana/Fernandez/Brooks in a bag & shake it - plenty of fine matches...PLUS a feud.

PLUS new blood - with nice entrances...it is all good.
