Feb 5th, 2013, 5:42pm

GSU Sports Arena
Atlanta. Georgia February 3, 1983 7 PM
Referees: Nick Patrick, Tommy Weathers, Scrappy McGowan

Joe/Bob Marcus defeat Davey O’Hannon/D.J. Peterson after Joe catches Peterson with a hot shot and pins him @ 6:44. (P)

Barry Horowitz defeats Paul Diamond with a spinning neck breaker @ 7:00. (W)

Armand Rougeau vs. Kerry Brown
Brown cheap shots Rougeau during the pre-match intros. He hurts the right arm early on and it proves to be crucial to the decision. Despite several rallies by Rougeau, a flying hammerlock by Brown gets the submission @ 9:38. (M)

Thunderbolt Patterson vs. Duke Myers
Myers uses a roll of nickels to jab Bolt in the throat several times during the match. Patterson gets tired of it and gets the object form the veteran. In plain view of Patrick, he slams Myers in the jaw with it. The roll breaks open and the nickels fly everywhere. Patterson loses the match by DQ but Myers doesn’t look like a winner when the bell rings @ 12:04. (P)

National Television Title
Bob Backlund © vs. Randy Rose

Late in the match, Rose misses a flying elbow and tumbles through the ropes to the floor. Backlund brings him back into the ring with a high vertical suplex from the apron. He drives the challenger hard to the mat and floats over for a cover @ 13:24. (W)

Ted DiBiase/Mike Rotundo w/James J. Dillon vs. Masked Superstar/Bob Roop
Rotundo thinks he has Roop put out on the floor. Rotundo charges with a clothesline. Roop sidesteps the move and Rotundo slams his arm on the past. Later, after some stiff punishment, Roop gets the pin with a shoulder breaker @ 19:00. (M)

******INTERMISSION******

Georgia Heavyweight Title
Dick Slater vs. Bobby Duncum © w/Sir Oliver Humperdink

Slater comes to the ring in a hockey mask to protect the face that was burned by Duncum. The champ and his manager protest but it falls on deaf ears. A series of head butts to the ribs midway through the match really put a hurting on the champ.

Later, Slater gets caught in the ropes and Duncum gets the mask off. He busts up Slater and looks ready to put him away. Slater catches Duncum with a desperation leg whip, driving the face hard into a turnbuckle. Slater gets the mask back on and starts brutally head butting Duncum’s nose. Humperdink pulls his man to the floor and they walk to the back. Despite Slater’s ranting, the champion takes a COUNTOUT LOSS @ 18:33. (P)

Great house show. I would have bought a ticket just for the DiBiase match alone. I will say though... Slater had to cheat in order to beat such a great man as Duncum. Poor guy had his nose busted up due to the shenanigans of Slater. I hope Slater gets fined and suspended for such dastardly actions.
