QUICK RESULTS

Scott McGhee takes on Jerry Bryant in the opener. During the bout, Bill Mercer announces that McGhee has been awarded a NWA Junior Heavyweight Title Match on valentine’s Day in Houston. Bryant tries his best to spoil things for McGhee, even using a foreign object to try to gain the advantage, but McGhee is on a roll and takes the bout with a German suplex. Mercer says that Hays must be thrilled to see two British subjects in such a big match. Hays dismisses Adams and McGhee as “commoners”.

Texas Tag Champs The Midnight Express(w/Jim Cornette ) take on Johnny Rich and Salvatore Bellomo in non-title action. Rich and Bellomo get some offense in, but the Express looks awesome as Eaton lifts Bellomo to the top rope and Condrey powerslams  Bellomo off the top rope.( NOTE:I don’t know what they called this move or if they even named it. I can give you a youtube link to a match where they use it if you want to know what I’m talking about)

Bill Mercer interviews Kerry, Kevin, and Fritz Von Erich. Fritz brings out his fourth son, Mike. Fritz says that they are training Mike and that he will debut sometime later this year. Kerry says that he feels ready to go, but Fritz says not until the doctor clears him. Kerry challenges whoever wins the Texas Title tournament, even if it’s Kevin! Kevin laughs and says that he would like to keep the Texas Title in the family.

A VTR is shown of Jimmy Garvin and Precious in the back of a limo, back in Texas. Jimmy says he will be a champion really soon and he will be in the Texas Title tournament in Houston on Valentine’s Day and that his opponent in his first tournament match is Mil Mascaras! Precious says every man in WCCW  should wear a mask because nobody compares to Gorgeous Jimmy!

Gino Hernandez (w/ Jim Cornette) takes on a newcomer, The Tonga Kid. The Kid shows potential, but falls prey to big suplex, followed by a reverse elbow off the top rope for the 1-2-3!

Killer Khan (w/Mr. JR) takes on Bobo Brazil. Mercer announces that both of these men are entered in the Texas Title tournament. Bobo takes the action right to the Mongolian, but JR distracts Brazil, leading to a kneedrop off the top and a pinfall win for Khan.

Al Madril takes on Moondog Spot (w/Mr. JR & Moondog Rex). When Rex and JR start threatening to interfere, Iceman Parsons comes to ringside. When Madril hits a sunset flip and has Spot pinned, Rex runs in and gets his partner DQ’d! Iceman runs in and clotheslines Rex out of the ring! Iceman and madril are standing tall! After the match, Iceman gets on the mic and says that everybody deserves a second chance, even Alberto!

MAIN EVENT:“Dr.D” David Shults(w/Jim Cornette) takes on Kevin Von Erich. This match is an all out brawl with Kevin trying to get revenge for Kerry! Shults gets a tainted win after Cornette blasts Kevin with his tennis racket! Kerry and Fritz come out to protest and nearly come to blows with Shults and Cornette!

QUICK RESULTS

Sgt. Slaughter(w/ Don Kernodle) takes on Chick Donovan in the opener. Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff come to ringside, waving Russian flags. Donovan gives the Sarge all he wants, but Slaughter gets the pin after a Slaughter cannon clothesline off the middle turnbuckle.

The Russsians do an interview about the boot camp match on the 14th in Houston against Slaughter and Kernodle. The Russians say that not only will they win, they will hurt an American!

Jimmy Garvin (w/Precious) makes his return to WCCW and wrestles Akio Sato. Jimmy looks sharp and gets the win after a brainbuster.

A VTR promo done by NWA Tag Champions Rick Steamboat and Jay Youngblood from the set of Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling is shown. Steamboat says that he and “Jayson” are taking the challenge of the Midnight Express on Valentine’s Day very seriously. Jay says that they want the Express to watch the next piece of footage to see what they are in store for. A music video  set to “Eye Of The Tiger” is shown. The video shows highlights of several Steamboat & Youngblood wins, including their win over Garvin & Hernandez to win the titles.

[b]The Moondogs(Spot & Rex)(w/Mr. JR) take on Iceman Parsons & Tonga Kid. Parsons really takes it to the ‘Dogs and Kid looks good, too. Tonga makes a rookie mistake and it winds up costing him the match as Rex pins him after a backbreaker. Parsons comes in to tend to his partner and the Moondogs attack him with their bones! Al Madril runs in with a chair! Al bashes Spot! Al Bashes Rex! The Moondogs bail out!

Dusty Rhodes takes on “Dr. D” David Shults (w/ Jim Cornette). The bout is even until it spills to the outside and Dusty chases after Cornette. Shults takes advantage of the distraction and slams Dusty headfirst into the ring post, busting him open! Dr. D beats Dusty back into the ring and the former NWA Champ is counted out! When Dusty re-enters the ring, Dr. D piledrives him! Shults waves Cornette in. Cornette counts to ten and Dusty doesn’t get to his feet! If this happens to David Von Erich on Valentine’s  Day, we’ll have a new World Champion!

NWA World Champion David Von Erich  is interviewed at ringside. Shults and Cornette get in his face and Cornette points out that if they do that to David on the 14th, Dr. D will be World Champion! David says a friend of his sent something for Cornette. David pulls a noose out of a shopping bag and drops it over Cornette’s neck! Cornett goes wild and accuses the Von Erichs of being behind the Durango Kid! David says that he’s not going to lose the World Title to a jerk like Dr.D and he’s going to show him how Texans deal with somebody who messes with their family! Cornette goes ballistic and sayas that he’s going to go get David’s opponent and David will be sorry that he messed with the Dynasty!

MAIN EVENT: David Von Erich wrestles Dennis Condrey in a non-title match. Condrey gives the champ an excellent match, but eventually Dave applies the Iron Claw and brings Loverboy Dennis to his knees! David Shults and Bobby Eaton attack David after Cornette climbs on the apron and waves them in! David is taking a real beating until Kevin runs in and then, the Dynasty jump on Kevin and start dishing out punishment to Kevin! Here comes the Durnago Kid! Cornette screams nad throws his tennis racket to Eaton! The Durango Kid turns the tide of the battle and the Von Erichs and the masked man clear the ring!

The Express need some big help to offset The Kid. Can't believe that Dusty was in a set-up for somebody else. I am really looking forward to Slaughter and Kernodle battling The Russians. I will be marking out for Madril and Parsons. Looking forward to the tourney.

This is brilliant work, so much better than what WCCW had IRL. Clearing the Freebirds out just opened everything else up and brought a whole new air to WCCW.

Gorgeous J and Precious are really clicking.
Madril and Iceman vs the Dogs is 10x better than Madril and Buck vs the Long Riders.
Dr. D vs Dusty is a dream feud.

Up do date in the Lone Star State, and I'll agree on how the recent roster tweaks have been so solid.  Also like Lord Al on the mic.

Durango Kid is paying big dividends and there is still an aura of perhaps some more dynamic stuff to come.  You have the horses & stories going that even a slightly condensed post is top notch.
