Joyce Grable & Wendi Richter challenge Judy Martin & The Spider Lady
  • Gene & Kelly Kiniski vs. Mike "Killer" Miller & "Killer" Joe Nova

Norm Kimber warms up the nearly 3,000 (near-sellout) with some Valentine's Day-themed patter.

Match 1 - Randy Scott vs. Robbie Stewart
Scott counters the daring acrobatics of the Flying Scot with some solid defense.  After a high-energy criss-cross, Scott's  jumping knee lift rocks the Scot JUST enough to keep the shoulders down for a pin.  Nice handshake extended by Robbie.
Result Match 1 - Randy Scott pins Robbie Stewart @ 11:20

Match 2 - "Rocky" Ed Boulder & Nick DeCarlo vs. "The Alaskan" Jay York & Pete Sanchez
Usual pop for the boyishly-handsome young Ed Boulder.  He and veteran Nick  use a combination of fleetness & fitness as well as some cageyness to frazzle the greybeards.  Pete put to sleep by Rocky Ed, with his usual wide-eyed, loopy smile.
Result Match 2 - Ed Boulder submits Pete Sanchez @ 12:20

Match 3 - Krusher Khrushchev vs. Ron Ritchie
Propagandist Comrade Chris Markoff takes the mic.

CM:  "Beautiful waters of Niagara Falls should be NATIONALIZED, share the wealth for ALL!  All us RUSSIANS, haha!  Nothing for lazy Canadian capitalistic lap-dogs!  I have the NEWEST, GREATEST from Mother Russia...the Krusher!"

Crowd is dismayed to see the former TV champ have little to answer the boastful Bolshevik with.  Size & power put to good advantage, with a Russian Sickle finisher.  With some post-armraise stomps.  BOOOO!
Result Match 3 - Krusher Khrushchev pins Ron Ritichie @ 9:20

Match 4 - Sheik Ali w/ Beautiful Bruce vs. Johnny Powers
As Ali has a handful with popular Powers, Bruce gives the signal & we have the splendiforous Ayatollah Siki out to be a nuisance nomad!  Powers ain't impressed, he gets the chance to knock Siki's burnoose flying and later escape a swarming by whipping BB into Ali!  Too many crooks spoil the bout here!  As Ali is giving Bruce an earful from the apron as he re-enters, Johnny brings him the rest of the way with an eye-catching high inverted suplex.
Result Match 4 - Johnny Powers pins Sheik Ali @ 10:50

Match 5 - aribbean Sunshine Boys © (Johnny Kincaid & Bobby Gaetano) vs. Alabama Chain Gang (Convict #1 and Convict #2)
NWA CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL TAG TITLE
First chance for the pepper-pot Gaetano to display the half of his tag title he was awarded.  And proves to be the real deal, the muscles are not for show, both bad boys howl in painful headlocks, armwringers & armbars.  Double-dropkick assist ffrom Johnny makes it official as Bobby G. gets a pin.
Result Match 5 - Bobby Gaetano pins Convict #1 @ 15:20
CARIBBEAN SUNSHINE BOYS RETAIN THE BELTS

Norm Kimber is about to advise we are ready for an intermission...BUT!  Killer Kowalski and Heavyweight champ Mike "Killer" Miller enter the ring.

KK:  "Everybody, LISTEN UP!  I'll talk SLOW so you palookas might fathom the ENORMITY of what I have to say!  You've ALL been scratching your heads and mumbling to yourselves about what happened on TV to JOE NOVA..."

Miller takes the mic and suggests there should be less booing & more attention.

MM:  "We're only goin' to say it once, this is pretty deep stuff for you-all.  We're lettin' ya in on how great minds work...first off, Nova was NO real KILLER..."

KK:  "Nope, he's GONE.  So we needed a replacement and fast.  One of the most FEARED, INSANE clans in wrestling are THE MOONDOGS!  Well, ONE of them was SO LETHAL, SO UNPREDICTABLE, he was disowned by the rest of his tribe!"

MM:  "Believe you me, he is MORE than a KILLER!"

KK:  "He is AWESOME, not just a KILLER, an eradicator, an obliterator, an exterminator...AN ANNIHILATOR!  HERE IS...
.
.
.
.
the AWESOME
.
.
.
.
SPIKE THE IMPALER!"

Trudging to the ring is this handsome piker in regulation Moondog wardrobe (cut-off jeans, rope belt, ragged tee (may have been black at some point -1976, maybe), clubberin' bone in hand.  Matted shaggy hair all over.

KK:  "Believe it or not, this IS the END of the Kiniskis!  The HONEYMOON will be OVER!  When Kimber here tells you the Main Event tonight is CANCELLED, it will be because the KINISKIS are not available!"

INTERMISSION

Match 6 - "Downtown" Denny Brown © vs. Don Arakawa
NWA CANADIAN LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE, 2 of 3 falls
Lovable young Denny mixes with the ringsiders as he enters.  Handshake for Don and away we go.  Denny just getting better it seems.  After some fine back-and-forth, he catches Don in an ab stretch.
Fall one - Brown submits Arakawa @ 8:50
Back might be barking for the challenger & Denny is all over it!  Some whips to the buckles, a surfboard and the Japanese vet is gesturing that the old spinebones are really out of whack!  A tiltawhirl backbreaker draws appreciative gasps and an good old Oklahoma roll ends it in straight sets!
Fall two - Brown pins Arakawa @ 9:00
Result Match 6 - Denny Brown defeats Don Arakawa 2-0 in falls
DENNY BROWN RETAINS THE TITLE

Match 7 - Joyce Grable & Wendi Richter challenge Judy Martin & The Spider Lady

Wendi Richter & Joyce Grable (with the Canadian strap) get a good welcome...trailing behind, we have Judy Martin and with her, the brunette that was unmasked as The Spider Lady.  She's in the black cat-suit, but carrying the mask.  Martin gets the mic.

JM:  "I'm sorry to see Grable is acting SO paranoid about everything, it's SAD, really!"

The mic is handed to the mystery woman:  "I think she's really confused, Judy and I want to set things RIGHT.  MY name is Penny Mitchell and I have wrestled as the Spider Lady only a couple of times...the Spider Lady is NOT the FABULOUS MOOLAH!"

Fans smell a rat, Wendi & Joyce aren't buying...

PM:  "REALLY!  And you two say it is the GLAMOUR GIRLS that the Fabulous Moolah has sent adter you, well, there's JUDY and I'm not Leilani Kai!  EXCUSE ME (crowd was getting restless)...excuse me, it's NOT MY FAULT, these two are all mixed-up, it's the GLAMOUR GIRLS they have a problem with, NOT me!"

Grable & Richter confer.

JG:  "Yes, we'd LOVE to take on the Glamour Girls, but we'll settle for Judy & YOU...wear the stupid mask or NOT, Mitchell..."

Joyce & Wendi oblivious to the crowd's alert!  LEILANI KAI running down the aisle, blindsides both with a double-clothesline!  THREE ON TWO beatdown!  Wayne Cashman & Danny Davis (whoops, Danny MARSH) out to help Terry Yorkston keep the peace.  OH, inadvertent grab by Danny of Mitchell...well, she had a right to slap him after THAT...

Peace is restored, well a semblance of order!  Wendi first to avenge the Pearl Harbor attack by the Hawaiian - Leilani sent flying EVERY which way by monkeyflips, a somersault followed by a dropkick and suplexes where some hair gets de-rooted!  Mitchell tries getting involved but Grable has repelled her on the floor.  The former Spider babe rallies, but her clothesline wallops MARTIN who had advanced from Grable's back side.

Mitchell is a non-factor as we have the four combatants back in the ring for a donnybrook, Yorkston stays focussed and we have Miss Martin small-packaged by Miss Richter!
Result Match 7 - Wendi Richter pins Judy Martin @ 11:40

IT'S MAIN EVENT TIME!  And there is a palpable sensation of trepidation permeating the arena.  THAT, and the fans are on the edge of their seats, too as Kowalski brings out the bad guys.  Spike wears a regular singlet top under the tee which is removed.  It WOULD be regulation if it weren't so ragged and skanky-looking.

Match 8 Mike "Killer" Miller & Spike the Impaler w/ Killer Kowalski vs. Gene & Kelly Kiniski
Kowalski is VERY sure during a dramatic pause, that we will, indeed have a NO SHOW forfeit!  But a lively version of "You've Got to be a Football Hero"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0reywtH5Cw

heralds the entry of CFL Hall of Famer & son!  Both have the familiar red sweat tops with white "Canada" and Maple Leaf on the back (order yours today!).

Heels in temporary uproar but we have the bell - "Mean" Mike and "Big Thunder" to open.  Kelly keeps his Pops from over-exertion.  Big Spike proves to be on the slow-moving side but a bit of a hard man to move.  Toss in the BONE, might help, thinks Kowalski @ 12:00.  Backswing clips referee Yorkston flush!  Ref bump!  Advantage HEELS!  Kelly tossed to the floor, Spike lumbers after.  CLUNK with the bone!

Out comes faithful sidekick Moose Morowski!  He pushes Spike back in!  GENE got CLUNKED.  Kowalski sees Wayne Cashman racing out, grabs the soupbone and scuttles it under the ring.  Cashman has no clue who's legal!  Moose was about to let him in on it, but Kowalski has a folding chair!  Down goes Morowski.  Kelly is appalled, Spike LIKE the sound of pvarnished pine on skull, he lumbers back out.  The fans KNOW it is GENE & SPIKE who are legal, Cashman drags Yorkston to safety.  Gene and Mike going hammer & tongs...Canadian backbreaker for Gene!  He turns to see on the floor, chairshot on Kelly's back by THE IMPALER!  It staggers him, edge of chair is rammed into the ribs!  Gene is out...Cashman starts a countout!  NO!  NO, REF!

Gene has a dilemma, he ignores the ref and grabs the chair...Yorkston has recovered, he squares Cashman on who to count out but the bell had been called for!  Cashman has counted big Gene out!  Kelly still down, Moose is up and bodyslams Kowalski!  Gene has gotten the chair & is pummelling Spike!  Miller is hollering at the refs as Cashman REVERSES the decision, it's A DDQ!  Who flipping cares?  Oh, right...the winners' pay window thing!
Result Match 8 - Gene & Kelly Kiniski vs. "Killer" Mike Miller & Spike the Impaler ends in DOUBLE disqualification @ 14:40

Well as far as the fans are concerned, it LOOKS like a win, Kelly is back up.  Miller is out on the floor, trying to get very contused & confused Spike to help scrape Kowalski off the floor.

I wonder if the Toronto fans know the gem they have in Boulder, Great to see Krusher win but sad to have it come against Ritchie. Powers rules. Great details to the ladies match. Love the father-son duo of The Kiniskis.

Great stuff.
