WWA Television is on the air Ep.2 (17.2.83)
Feb 17th, 2013, 8:53am

WWA Television
All Star Championship Wrestling
Taped on: Thursday February 14th 1983
Aired: Sunday February 17th 1983  at 12 Noon
Announcers:  David McLane, Jack Reynolds
Referees: Sam Diamond aka Jack Barnett, Jim Davis, Emmitt Couch, George Hill

** David McLane & Jack Reynolds welcome the fans to All Star Championship Wrestling. This week we will be having The Hunters in action. Tonga Kid will take on Ox Baker. The WWA tag team championship will be on the line when Spike Huber & “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal defend against the mysterious Clones and in our main event…the State title will be on the line when The Great Wojo defends against Donny Fargo. AWA president Verne Gagne comes out with a new title belt saying that Tuesday night in Fort Wayne, Indiana there will be a one night tournament to crown the first ever WWA junior champion. It will be eight men but only one can be the title holder. McLane and Reynolds thank the president for this great news with Reynolds saying the fans in Fort Wayne have a special night there so make sure to get your tickets if you have not yet.**

The Hunters defeat Steve Lombardi & Ted Petty after Hunter #1 hits the powerslam on Lombardi

The Hunters head to the interview area. Hunter #1 lets McLane know that they are not going to sit idly by while those chump, pretty boys pretend to be tag team champions. At the arenas throughout the territory, Huber & Regal could not pin either Hunter. They could not make either Hunter give up. What this proves is that these so called champions cannot defeat the Hunters. It is just a matter of time before the Hunters are the WWA tag team champions and Huber & Regal’s careers are ended.

Tonga Kid defeats Ox Baker by count out after making Baker chase him around

Baker is at the interview area. He screams at David McLane that this Kid does nothing but run around and he refuses to fight Ox Baker. He wants him next week in the ring again, this time though, stay in the ring and stop running. As for that “other” one, Prince Tonga…next time he gets in Ox Baker’s way, he will find himself on the receiving end of the most deadly move in professional wrestling…. A heart punch.

WWA Tag Team Championship: Spike Huber & Steve Regal (c) defeat The Clones after Regal uses the Fort Lauderdale Lock on Clone #2 for the submission win.

The WWA tag team champions join up with David McLane at the interview area. Regal says he and Huber have heard what the Hunters have said. They have been in some wars and those two are two of the toughest men ever in the ring. They keep coming at you and at you and at you, never stop. But Huber and Regal are not new to the sport and are not new to holding tag team gold. The Hunters can get their shot again because as they said last week, the champions do not hide behind anyone or anything. If those Hunters want a title match next week, they got it.

State Championship: “The Great Wojo” Greg Wojciechowski (c) defeats Donny Fargo with a belly to belly suplex. After the match, Danny Fargo jumps in the ring and attacks Wojo. Soon it is a two on one until Mark Fleming rushes the ring to save Wojo from the attack. As the Fargos head to the back, Wojo and Fleming stand eye to eye, tension mounting until Fleming points at the State title saying it will be his, then leaves the ring to go to the locker room.

Danny and Donny Fargo are protesting all the way to the interview area saying that it still takes two people to beat one Fargo. Donny “explains” that he had the win until Wojo held his tights and pulled his hair. Danny interrupts saying he went in the ring to explain what happened to the referee when the he was heinously attacked by the so called State champion. If it was not for the people, his fans, warning him, that no good, sneaking son of a gun, Mark Fleming would have used a chain, or chair or something to try and take out the fan favorite team of the Fabulous Fargos. But it was the love of the fans that made it not happen. Meanwhile the fans are booing so loudly that Donny Fargo has to yell. He yells that those two no good cheats did manage to accomplish something… they are on the same list as the other no good cheats, Dick The Bruiser & Wilbur Snyder and one day….everyone on that list will be erased.

The show ends with David McLane recapping the action before saying goodnight to everyone.

Wojo is on an incredible roll.
Hunters vs Regal/Huber is tag-team wrestling at its very best.

I loved the way you crafted to stand off between Wojo and Flemming. Tonga Kid and Baker has just the right amount of creative realism to it. Huber and Regal going against the Hunters is a real good program. The Fargos have a very unique treatment here in the WWA and it makes for good reading.

Solid stuff.

I notice no house shows for Indianapolis. Is that being saved as the big venue? How is a 3-year-old me supposed to go to shows? Mind you I'd never heard of Dick the Bruiser or knew what wrestling was, not that my parents would have taken me anyway...
