Feb 22nd, 2013, 9:49am

Bell Auditorium
Augusta, Georgia 2/17/83
Referee: Tommy Weathers

Bob Marcus defeats Davey O’Hannon when Marcus counters an abdominal stretch into a crucifix @ 8:34.

Joe Marcus defeats Paul Diamond
when Marcus ducks a flying forearm and unloads with a side suplex @ 7:11.

Wendell Cooley defeats Norvell Austin w/Randy Rose when Rose clobbers Austin by mistake on a criss-cross. Cooley hits a bulldog to win @ 10:34.

The Mongolian Stomper/Dynamite Wayne Ferris w/Gorgeous George Jr. defeat Thunderbolt Patterson/Armand Rougeau in a hard fought match. Patterson and Stomper are fighting on the floor when the winning pinfall is made. George pushes Rougeau off the top turnbuckle when Weathers tries to break up the action on the floor. Ferris lands a swinging neckbreaker on Armand for the win @ 10:55.

Lumberjack Match
Mr. Wrestling II vs. “The Total Legend” Paul Orndorff w/J.J. Dillon

The contract stip announced on TV plays into this one. Viper Gold members are among the Lumberjacks. Mike Rotundo loads his knee pad when the action is going on. II is thrown down to the floor. Rotundo hits a running knee to the head. Orndorff, later, hits his piledriver to win @ 13:29.

******INTERMISSION ******

Georgia Heavyweight Title
Bobby Duncum © w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. Dick Slater

Slater does not wear his hockey mask during the match but does keep it in his corner. Later, ref Weathers is pulled by Duncum into a corner. He goes down. Slater takes advantage and goes for the mask. He batters Duncum with it. Humperdink revives Weathers enough to get the DQ win for his man @ 15:03.

NWA World Tag Team Title Match
Ricky Steamboat/Jay Youngblood © vs. Jack/Jerry Brisco

This match is intense but clean. Youngblood plays an interesting card late. He baits Jerry with some comments. Ringsiders say it concerns being “a bald eagle”. Jerry charges into a flying chop by Steamboat on a blind tag. Youngblood snaps Jack Brisco’s head over the top rope to stop the break-up of the cover @ 25:00.

The Briscos want to go at it after the bell. Luckily, cooler heads prevail. They reluctantly shake hands with the champs. Youngblood and Jerry Brisco stare daggers.

National Television Title
Bob Backlund © defeats Jesse Barr w/Sir Oliver Humperdink.
The Future shock looks good here but the experience of Backlund proves too much to overcome. Barr applies a Texas cloverleaf on Backlund but pulls too far back on the move. Backlund is able to lock on the chicken wing submission. Barr holds out for as long as possible but does submit @ 13:00.

I don't care for the Viper Gold name but other than that this is the most dominant group in wrestling today.
Interesting how different promoters see things differently I was looking for Gouldie to join MX Inc and Dusty to be 3. Still I like what you're doing here.
The return of GG Jr. was a huge mark out moment for me. His work in GCW '78 and '79 was awesome.
