1st Event of the Evening
Paul Kelly vs Golden Boy managed by “Golden Greek” John Tolos

Sullivan: The rookie from Vancouver has looked great in this his first major league match. He connects with a big right hand that rocks the Golden Boy. Kelly whips Golden Boy into the corner and rushes in to attempt a monkey flip. Golden Boy holds onto to the ropes and Kelly goes crashing back into the canvas. Gouldie mounts the second rope and comes off with a beautiful flying elbow drop. He makes the cover and Tommy Starr delivers the 3 count.

Banks: Golden Boy came into this match looking for an easy day at the office against the rookie but he ended up having a hard day’s night. This goes down as a loss on Kelly’s record but the kid can be proud of himself for the match that he gave Tommy Gouldie.

Dennis Ashley makes the official announcement as Gouldie casually wipes his chest in a display of arrogance.

Official Result: Golden Boy (Tommy Gouldie) defeated Paul Kelly

John Tolos: Look at this man. He’s the son of the CFL HOF Archie Gouldie the most feared wrestler of the 70’s and the only man to ever defeat Andre the Giant. He’s been trained by Danny Hodge and now under my guidance he will reach the peak of professional wrestling and become the World Jr. Heavyweight Champion.

Tommy Gouldie: Did you see that Dennis Ashley. I took the little boy Paul Kelly to school and didn’t even break a sweat. I could have won that match at any time but I wanted to get in a little bit of a workout and let everyone here in Midwest Championship Wrestling see just what I can do in the ring. I want to thank my Dad for giving me the genes to become a great professional wrestler. I want to thank Danny Hodge for helping me to take my natural talent and develop it to its fullest and most of all I want to thank this man John Tolos for bringing me here to Midwest Championship Wrestling where the world will see me develop into a world champion. John Tolos is the greatest mind in professional wrestling he is the Golden Greek and anyone that calls him a maniac will have to answer to me.

John Tolos: We have some matches coming up against the tag team champions Nelson Royal and Ron Sexton and there isn’t a doubt in my mind that we are the better team. But I want to tell Jerry Lawler something. Lawler I know you’re either watching or you have a spy here watching and reporting to you and I want you to know one thing. LAWLER, THE NEXT TIME WE MEET I WILL DEFEAT YOU FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. NEVER FORGET YOU CAN’T SPELL WRESTLING WITHOUT T-O-L-O-S.

Sullivan: Despite what Tommy Gouldie says John Tolos is clearly a maniac. Tolos is foaming at the mouth as the Golden Boy leads him out of the ring.

Terry Sullivan – before we head to our second match let’s take a look at a couple of wrestler’s that will be entering Midwest Championship Wrestling in the very near future. They are Jos LeDuc and Jim Nelson the Lumberjacks.

Video is shown of Jos LeDuc pulling a Greyhound bus followed by Jim Nelson winning what appears to be a wood chopping contest. The video concludes with Jim Nelson and Jos LeDuc winning a lumberjack contest against 10 other men. LeDuc and Nelson laugh as the opposing team of lumberjacks gets pulled across the line and fall into mud. LeDuc then is heard to call out – “Jean Pierre, hurry up with that stew we’re starving.”

2nd Event of the Evening
Malcolm Monroe vs “Rabid” Richard Charland managed by Eddie “the Brain” Creatchman
Sullivan: Monroe uses his boxing skills delivering a series of punches to Charland. Charland appears to be wobbling but he catches Monroe with a stiff boot to the mid-section. Charland grabs Monroe and positions him for the piledriver. Charland leaps into the air and comes crashing down driving Monroe’s head hard into the mat.

Banks: Malcolm Monroe is going to give anybody that he faces a real fight but right now Richard Charland is on a roll and I don’t know that he can be stopped.
Official Decision: Richard Charland defeated Malcolm Monroe

Dennis Ashley interviews Richard Charland and Eddie Creatchman.

Eddie Creatchman: My man “Rapid” Richard Charland asks for competition and what does he get the former champion Bobby Colt, the masked convict the Gladiator and the people’s hero Nelson Royal. You people in Redford come on out to the Ice Arena on Tuesday night and watch Murder Inc. annihilate Bobby Colt and Nelson and then on Thursday night you bums in Akron come out and watch Bobby Colt get destroyed by my man Richard Charland. Bobby Colt has given up on getting a rematch against Kurt Von Hess to try and stop Richard Charland so you don’t want to miss this. It might be the last chance to see your former champion in this territory.

Richard Charland: I hate a lot of things about America, Eddie, but you know what I hate most of all. I hate John Wayne. I hate Clint Eastwood. I hate cowboys. Everybody knows that the toughest men in the world come from Quebec but these cowboys ride around acting macho thinking they’re so tough. Unfortunately John Wayne’s dead and Clint Eastwood is too scared to fight me but I luckily we have some cowboy’s here in Midwest Championship Wrestling in Bobby Colt and Nelson Royal who are too stupid to know what happens when you get into the ring with me, “Rapid” Richard Charland. Bobby Colt, Nelson Royal think about it you can either get on your broken down hags and ride off into the sunset or you can be put into a pine box the choice is yours.

2/17 – North Ridgeville, MI – North Ridgeville High School

3rd Event of the Evening – non-title match
Midwest Tag-Team Champions Nelson Royal and Ron Sexton vs the masked duo of the Nightmare (Starr) and the Executioner (Stone).

Sullivan: The masked men have really worked well together in this match.

Banks: The Nightmare has got to be one of the best technical wrestlers in Midwest Championship Wrestling and anybody that has been trained by Killer Kowalski as the Executioner has been is going to handle himself in the ring.

Sullivan: The Executioner with a bear hug on Sexton really wearing the man from Cincinatti down. Sexton calls on the support of the fans and delivers a double chop to the side of the Executioner’s neck. The big man is forced to release the hold and Sexton tags in Nellie. Royal hits the ring and tears into the big man. Royal takes the Executioner into the corner and comes out with the running bulldog using his momentum to drive the masked man face first into the mat. Nellie makes the cover and Hal Light delivers the 3 count.

Banks: The champions come out with the win. And they do appear to be clicking on all cylinders but with title defenses against teams like the Lumberjacks and John Tolos and the Golden Boy coming up, not to mention Murder Inc. you have to wonder how long they will be able to hold onto the titles.

Official Decision: Nelson Royal and Ron Sexton defeat the Executioner and the Nightmare – Royal pinned Executioner.
Dennis Ashley interviews Nelson Royal and Ron Sexton who are joined by Cowboy Bobby Colt.
Nelson Royal: Dennis, you know any time you step into the ring in Midwest Championship Wrestling you’re going to be facing top competition and that’s just what we faced in the Executioner and the Nightmare. If those two get some experience working as a team they could seriously challenge Ron and myself or any other team that might have these titles.

Cowboy Bobby Colt: boys, congratulations on the win. The masked men are a tough team. Right now though I want to talk about one man or should I say dirty dog and that’s Richard Charland. Charland back home when you face a dirty, stinking dog like you that wants to stay on your heel snarling and growling you stick your boot in his face and 9 times out of 10 no matter how mean that dog is if you kick him hard enough he’ll run off whimpering. Well in Redford on Tuesday night and Akron on Thursday night I’m going to take this size 13 boot and kick you right in your big fat nose. We’re going to see are you going to run off whimpering or are you as bad as you think you are.

Nelson Royal: Bobby, I think we’re going to see him run off with his tail between his legs. Charland it won’t be two on one this time. In Redford I’m going to take care of Don Kent one more time and that’s going to leave Colt one on one against Charland. It’s high time that the rabid dog was put down and whether it happens in the tag team match in Redford on Tuesday or on Thursday night in Akron it’s one that you people do not want to miss.

2/17 – North Ridgeville, MI – North Ridgeville High School
2/17 – Port Huron, MI – Community Fairgrounds
2/18 – Brown City, MI – National Guard Armory
2/19 – Redford, MI – Ice Arena
2/20 – Warren, MI – Lincoln High School
2/21 – Akron, OH – Akron Armory
2/22 – Canton, OH – Memorial Auditorium
2/23 – Marietta, OH – Marietta Jr. High School
2/24 – Mansfield, OH – CIO Hall
2/24 – Columbus, OH – Fairgrounds

Levi Banks: Terry, it was getting blasted by Nick Busick that caused me to see things in a completely different light but before that I did everything that I could to take the Midwest Heavyweight Championship from Bobby Colt and he still managed to come out on top. So I have a lot of respect for both Colt and Nelson Royal but I don’t believe that there is anybody that can stop that madman Richard Charland right now. The man is really rabid.

Terry Sullivan: I’ll agree with you that Charland is on top of his game right now but he’s going to have a real fight on his hands when he and Don Kent face the cowboys on Tuesday night in Redford and then again when he goes one on one against Bobby Colt in what I’ve just been informed is a No DQ, No COR match in Akron.

Levi Banks: Bobby Colt is a great wrestler but he made a terrible mistake in signing a match with those stipulations against “Rabid” Richard Charland.

Sullivan: It’s time for our Main Event. Gino Brito has really tuned Johnny Heffernan up a notch the past couple of weeks but Fred Curry has been sensational since he returned and took the TV title from Dr. Jerry Graham, Jr.

Banks: Graham was too cocky and he underestimated Fred Curry. The Kangaroo Johnny Heffernan won’t make that same mistake.

MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING
MIDWEST TV CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
(c) Fred Curry vs “Kangaroo” Johnny Heffernan managed by Gino Brito.
Banks: Brito made a very smart decision in taking Heffernan back to his roots. The Kangaroo gear and the boomerang has made a big difference in boosting Heffernan’s confidence something that he’d been lacking since Don Kent decided to drop him as a tag team partner and go with Richard Charland instead. Heffernan initially suffered from that move but right now he seems poised to become a serious contender in the singles division.
Sullivan: We’re getting just what we expected from the champion Fred Curry and the challenger Johnny Heffernan a fantastic match. Heffernan has the upper hand as he’s been working on the left leg of Curry for several minutes now.

Banks: Gino Brito the master of the figure four leglock taught the move to Johnny Heffernan and now the Kangaroo is locking it in.

Sullivan: But is it too late we only have 7 seconds left in the match.

Banks: Curry is in a lot of pain. He’s slapping the mat and calling on the fans for support.

Sullivan: There’s the bell. This match is going to end in a time limit draw. What’s Gino Brito doing? Brito is going ballistic screaming at the time keeper. He’s saying that there was time left on the clock. I don’t know if Gino’s watch was fast or what but I believe the timekeeper was correct in ringing the bell. Gino is coming to the desk.

Gino Brito: What’s going on here? This is a travesty. There was still 5 seconds left on the clock. Terry, you saw it.

Sullivan: I think the timekeeper got it right Gino.

Brito: Your watch must be broke. Banks, what about you?

Banks: I’ve got to agree with you Gino. I think there were at least 3 seconds left.

Brito: It’s pretty obvious to me that Fred Curry paid the timekeeper to save him. Johnny Heffernan defeated Fred Curry with the figure four leglock and he is the real TV Champion.

Tom Renesto has made his way out from the back.

Brito: It’s about time that you got out here. Tom, you saw what happened. Overrule the decision and give Johnny Heffernan the belt.

Renesto: Gino, the time expired. Now it was a great match and if there had of been even a little bit of time left we have a new champion right now but the fact is the time ran out.

Brito: This is a conspiracy. Why is everyone turning against me? Tom, Terry, you know me for the fine upstanding gentleman that I am I told you that there were 5 seconds left when the bell rang and you should believe me. What is this? Did Curry pay you off or something?

Renesto: Gino, I’m not going to listen to any more of this. The time ran out and we have a time limit draw. Because of this Johnny Heffernan will get a rematch in two weeks.

Brito: In two weeks? What are you trying to do protect Fred Curry? Johnny Heffernan should be awarded the belt now. If you’re not going to do that you should at least order a rematch for next week.

Renesto: The TV title is defended every other week unless something irregular happens and as far as I’m concerned this match was no different than any other.  It ended in a time limit draw and that’s that. You and Heffernan need to go to the back and work on getting ready for the next title defense and stop all your crying.

Brito: My crying? I’m just trying to get things done right around here.

Fred Curry is holding his left knee as he asks Dennis Ashley for the microphone.

Curry: Gino, I don’t know what you’re complaining about. This was a 10 minute match and the time expired. Heffernan gave me a great match but the match is over. But I want to be the best champion that I can be and if it’s all right with Renesto I’ll accept a rematch for next week.

Renesto: Fred, you’ve got the option to wait a week but if you want a rematch against Heffernan next week I’ll set up the contracts.

Curry: That’s what I want. If I can’t beat Johnny Heffernan I don’t deserve to be holding this belt.

Brito: You can’t beat him you just proved that.

Renesto: Okay, you’ve got it. Next week’s main event of Richard Charland against the Gladiator will not be televised and we’ll have a rematch between Fred Curry and Johnny Heffernan for the TV title instead.

Sullivan: You never know what will happen here on Midwest Championship Wrestling. If we’re going to be in your town this week make it a point to come out and see great live wrestling action. That’s all the time that we have for this week. For Levi Banks I’m Terry Sullivan saying goodbye for now.

Looks like Colt may be done. Interesting exchange between Brito, Curry, and Renesto. LeDuc being paired with Nelson certainly is different. I agree that Royal and Sexton may not be long for those tag belts. Like Tommy Lane being Stomper's son and managed by Tolos. Hamilton's push continues.

Great stories in Midwest.

Fun stuff, you certainly not short on frothing at the mouth types here with Brito (can't tell time), Tolos (can't spell) and Creatchman (dresses funny0, to name a few!  Hope no one tells Lawler he has a challenge from Tolos.  Lane=Gouldie gimmick is fun.

Kayfabe alert!  Any MCW fans heading here to Hamilton to check the Archie Gouldie display at the CFL Hall...I offer complimentary popcorn at a REAL rasslin show.  With REAL lumberjacks, lol!  "Logger" Jim Nelson, hmmm...not bad.
