Airs2/23/83 MERCER: Welcome to World Class Championship Wrestling! I’m Bill Mercer, along with Lord Alfred Hayes. Today, The International Six Man Trophy is on the line as Kevin Von Erich, Kerry Von Erich, who makes his return after a serious injury , and Cowboy Scott Casey defend the title against three members of Jim Cornette’s Dynasty; The Midnight Express and “Dr. D, David Shults!
HAYS: Casey lost the American Title to Jimmy Garvin last week and I predict the downward trend shall continue this week.
MERCER: That’s just one great match we have for you this week. Sgt. Slaughter will meet Chick Donovan, The Moondogs will wrestle, Barry Windham will be in action, and the team of Al Madril and Iceman Parsons will compete.
Sgt. Slaughter and Don Kernodle enter the picture. Slaughter is dressed to wrestle while Kernodle is in combat fatigues and a neck brace and carrying the American flag.
MERCER: Sgt. Slaughter and Don Kernodle are here with us. Mr. Kernodle, good to see you up and around after the brutal assault by the Russians.
SLAUGHTER: Those Russian scum, Koloff and Volkoff, hurt Private Kernodle’s neck, so he can’t wrestle. But what he can do is present the colors at ringside and provide inspiration to me and all of the Cobra Corps! Until he gets medical clearance, Kernodle will be on flag bearing duty! Do you understand, Kernodle?
KERNODLE: SIR! YES, SIR!( The Marine Hymn begins to play)
Slaughter: I hear the most beautiful sound in the world….FORWARD….MARCH!
Sgt. Slaughter(w/Don Kernodle) takes on Chick Donovan. “The Golden Boy” gives Sarge all he wants. After about ten mintes, Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff come to ringside and taunt Kernodle, who stands at attention, holding the flag high and proud. The Russians attack Kernodle! Kernodle, goes to his knees, but the flag never touches the floor! Slaughter sees the attack and leaves the ring to help Kernodle! Slaughter fights off the Russians as referee Bronko Lubich tolls the count! Volkoff and Koloff stand down and back their way up the aisle and out of the arena! Slaughter re-enters the ring, but doesn’t beat the 20 count and Donovan gets the countout upset win! Donovan is being very cocky about his cheap win and Slaughter is irate! Sarge puts the cobra on Donovan and puts him out! Mark Lowrance is waiting for Sarge at ringside. SLAUGHTER: Volkoff, Koloff, you maggots, you scum! You not only attacked this fine American, Don Kernodle, who is injured and not medically cleared for combat, you attacked the flag of the United States! But I want you to realize one thing, you communist pigs! This man didn’t allow the flag to touch the floor! He didn’t allow you to dishonor the colors!
KERNODLE: I’d DIE first!
SLAUGHTER: Chick Donovan, only a punk and a maggot would accept help from those dirty Russians! What kind of a man are you anyway, Chick Donovan? Listen to these people…USA! USA! USA! Donovan, you make them sick and you make me sick! Russians, this is WAR! And I mean scorched earth, takle no prisoners WAR!
COMMERCIAL
Barry Windham wrestles Butcher Vachon. Vachon has his moments, but Windham look fantastic and gets the pin after a big lariat. COMMERCIAL
The Moondogs, Spot & Rex (w/ Mr. JR) wrestle. Terry Gibbs & Salvatore Bellomo. Gibbs and Bellomo have flashes of offense, but in the end, Bellomo falls victim to the backbreaker/elbow combination and the Dogs get the pin. COMMERCIAL
Iceman Parsons & Al Madril take on Akio Sato & Jerry Bryant. Al and Iceman are in rare form and Madril gets the submission win for his team with the Indian Deathlock on Bryant. COMMERCIAL

Scott Casey is setting on a fence of a corral at what appears to be a ranch, there are a few horses in the corral.
CASEY: The TV people wanted my comments on losing my American Title last week to Jim Garvin, well I consider it a robbery and not a loss. You know, Garvin, I did a lot of things that I’m ashamed of last year, but I never hid behind a woman’s skirts and, no matter how much a woman interferes in my business, I won’t sink so low as to strike a woman. There are other ways of taking care of such a problem and I’ve made arrangements to do just that! Jimmy, if it’s just you and me, I know I can beat you and get my title back! I promise you that I’ll do just that! HAYS: I am here with the American Champion, Jimmy Garvin and the lovely Precious. It is a chore to listen to that uncouth Cowboy, James.
GARVIN: Cowpoke Casey, Precious didn’t interfere with anything last week. Don’t you even entertain the thought of doing anything against this woman, you stinkin’ drugstore cowboy! You can’t beat me because I’m the best wrestler alive today. If you can’t handle that, Marlboro Man, it’s not my fault! (to Precious) Have I told you lately that you are the most beautiful woman on the planet and that you have great taste in men? (Garvin and Precious kiss). David Von Erich, this American Title should guarantee me a World Title match if you aren’t afraid! Baby, your man is gonna rule the world!

MERCER: Next week, another great program just for you and what a DOUBLE MAIN EVENT, DAVID VON ERICH, the World Champion, in a non-title match against BEAUTIFUL BOBBY EATON of the Midnight Express! Also, for the Texas Title, GINO HERNANDEZ wrestles KEVIN VON ERICH!
Right now, this week’s MAIN EVENT………..
Kerry & Kevin Von Erich & Scott Casey defend the International Six Man trophy against “Dr. D” David Shults & the Midnight Express(w/ Jim Cornette). Referee David Manning has a tough time keeping order in this wild one. Kerry and Dr.D especially are hard to keep apart. In the end, the champs retain as Casey pins Condrey with a backslide. Cornette thowsw a hissy fit and claims Condrey’s tights were pulled as the show goes off the air!
