Championship Wrestling from California presents Wrestling at the Olympic Taped 2/10/83 Olympic Auditorium Los Angeles, CA Syndicated across California & Nevada Announcers: Jeff Walton with Pat Patterson Footage from last week's show started things off. King Konga obliterated Bob Backlund, sending him off on a stretcher. "Exotic" Adrian Street cheated his way to victory over "Crusher" Jerry Blackwell and the United States Heavyweight Title. "Pistol" Pez Whatley and Bugsy McGraw were left laying at the hands of the "Intelligent, Sensational" Destroyer and his newest protege, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. Koko Ware debuted with a victory over "Crazy" Luke Graham. He pinned Graham after a second-rope dropkick in 7 minutes. Ware danced with ringside fans afterward. COMMERCIAL BREAK International Tag Team Champions the Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) defeated the Mercenaries (Frenchy Martin & Pierre Lefebvre) in 11 minutes when Sika pinned Martin following a Samoan drop. "There's a lot going on here in California," Afa said. "A lot of new guys are showing up every week. That's okay, 'cause bruddah, we are still the gold standard. Count on it!" COMMERCIAL BREAK A music video promoting the upcoming debut of Black Bart was shown, to the tune of "Bad Company" by Bad Company. King Konga (with the Grand Wizard) defeated Yoshiaki Yatsu in 2 minutes after a big boot and diving headbutt off the top rope. This time, he delivered no punishment postmatch. "Little Bobby Backlund thought he was so tough, didn't he?" the Wizard said. "You want to know what tough really is? Take a look at 6-foot-5-inches and 310 pounds of pure wraith. If you look up violence in the dictionary, you will find a picture of King Konga. Pray to whatever deity you worship, for when Konga steps in the ring, the end is near!" COMMERCIAL BREAK The "Intelligent, Sensational" Destroyer & "Dr. Death" Steve WIlliams came out for a match against Steve & Scott Armstrong, but it never happened, as "Pistol" Pez Whatley & Bugsy McGraw attacked them in revenge for last week. The Destroyer was tossed aside so they could both get at the larger Williams, but a contingent of ringside officials separated them quickly. McGraw began swinging a chair wildly, and managed to bean Williams in the forehead during the melee, bloodying him. A music video promoting the upcoming debut of Bad News Allen was shown, to the tune of the theme from "Shaft" by Isaac Hayes. COMMERCIAL BREAK "Exotic" Adrian Street came out to celebrate his United States Heavyweight Title victory. A podium and table with a huge bouquet of flowers was set up in the ring. "I'm told that Jerry Fatwell has left the state of California," he said. "Rumor has it that he went to India. Cows are sacred there, after all. Now, onto other matters. My contract as champion states that I have to defend this belt once every 30 days, so that's just what I'm going to do. So I won't be wrestling in front of any of you common vermin until next month. Until then, I'm going to go back to Rodeo Drive and do a little shopping, and pamper myself, at this promotions' expense, of course. And when I do wrestle, I assure you, it won't be against a fossil like you, Pat Patterson." With that, Patterson rose from the announcer's desk and entered the ring. Street cowered away, as Patterson tossed over the flowers and knocked over the podium. "Now you listen here, Street," he said. "I don't like you. I don't like one thing about you. I don't like how you carry yourself, and I don't like the example you set. I'm going to wipe that pain off your face, and I'm going to take back the United States title, and there's nothing you can do about it. The contract's signed, and you're going to meet me in this ring, next week. How do you like that!?"
