“Portland Wrestling”
Sports Arena
Portland, OR
3/2/83

Don Coss and Dutch Savage open the show from the Crow's Nest.

Coss, “Partner, what a show we had on Tuesday!”

Savagae, “I've been around for 20 years and I've never seen anything like it.”

Coss, “We have several bits of bad news from Tuesday, but let's start out with something positive. Ladies and gentlemen, the NEW Northwest Champion, Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka!”

Snuka joins them.

Coss, “Jimmy, welcome, and you did it!

Snuka, “Bruddah, it was hard work. I set a goal and I made it. Oliver was tougher, but I didn't give up. I'm going to keep this title for a long time.”

Coss, “There are a lot of wrestlers lining up for a shot at the title. You know that Oliver wants a rematch, Rose wants a shot, you've got the Sheik, Billy Jack, Stan Stasiak, there are some talented wrestlers waiting for you.”

Snuka, “I'm not ducking anyone, I'll wrestle whoever gets in the ring with me.”

Coss, “I know the fans will be happy with that. Now let's see the new Champion in the ring.”

Match #1
Non-Title Match
Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka (Northwest Champion) def. Gary Royal, w/Fijian Full Nelson

“Playboy” Buddy Rose and the Army are in the Crow's Nest.

Coss, “We welcome the Army to the Crow's Nest. Mr. Rose, you had a good night, but things did not go well for Mr. Oliver.”

Oliver, “Let me talk about that! Snuka, I saw you out here with my title! You got lucky! I beat you over and over again, but this time you got one over on me, that won't happen again! I'll get a rematch, and I'll take my title back!”

Rose, “Now let me talk about my glorious night. I ended that punk's career! Matt Borne will never step foot in a wrestling ring again, I beat him within an inch of his life. I let him off in the end because I felt sorry for him. It's all over for him now.”

Coss, “O.K. Matt was seriously injured. We have no word on him yet. Now let me ask you one more question, where is Ed Wiskoski?'

Rose, “You're awful nosy Coss, Ed decided he wanted to move on, so I let him, but let me tell you one thing, the Army is getting stronger. Next week, you are going to see the newest member debut. You will not believe it.”

Coss, “Who is it?”

Rose, “Wait and see, I'm not telling you now.”

Coss, “Alright, let's see Mr. Rose in action.”

Match #2
“Playboy” Buddy Rose def. Moondog Moretti, w/Billy Robinson Backbreaker

After the match, Matt Borne, with a large bandage on his forehead comes to the ring. He takes the mike from Don Owen.

Borne, “Rose, you think you finished me? You got another thing coming! I won't quit, I want you back in the ring, next week! I want revenge!”

Borne tosses the mike to Rose.

Rose, “Look you little punk, I almost killed you last Tuesday. Do yourself a favor, retire from wrestling and go home, take care of that feeble old dad of yours and try to get that sister of yours under control.”

Borne is enraged. He goes after Rose. They brawl and Borne's cuts open up again. Wrestlers from the back break things up. Owen takes the mike.

Owen, “Look Matt, we all know Rose want to get under your skin. I'd like to sign another match between, but I need the doctor's release before I let you wrestle.”

Borne reaches into his tights and pulls out a paper. He hands it to Owen. Don reads it.

Owen, “This says Matt can wrestle next week, so the match is on.”

The crowd explodes.

The Sheepherders and Sheik Ali Hasan are in the Crow's Nest.

Coss, “With us are three men who are, apparently, working together. Sheik, you are now aligned with the Sheepherders, is that right?”

Hasan, “Three men have united to bring America to its knees. The Sheepherders from New Zealand and the Sheik from Saudi Arabia have unleashed our fury! Stasiak was the first victim, there will be others!”

Coss, “Stasiak felt your fire. There is no word on his health. Billy Jack will be here later hopefully he will update us.”

Miller, “Stasiak is finished, my cousin and I will be the Champions! Give us the titles! OHHHHHH!”

Williams, “Yea, it's over for the Americans, it's over!”

Coss, “These three men will be in our main event. They will face, Kevin Kelly, Buck Zumhofe and Steve Pardee. That will be a wild one.”

Match #3
Christopher Colt def. Terry Adonis, w/Elbow Drop

Billy Jack is in the Crow's Nest.

Coss, “With me is one half of the tag team champions. Billy, let's get right to the point. How is Stan?”

BJ, “He's really, really, lucky. The fire did not burn his eyes. His face is burned and he's in a lot of pain, but it could have been a lot worse.”

Coss, “When, if ever, can he get back in the ring?”

BJ, “Oh he'll be back! I promise you that. The Sheepherders and the Sheik won't get away with this! We'll be back and we'll take care of business!”

Coss, “That's great news. I hope we can get Stan back soon. Now let's see Billy in action.”

Match #4
Billy Jack def. Tiny Anderson, w/Full Nelson

Coss, “Our six-man main event is next.”

Main Event, Two out of Three Falls
Six Man Tag Team Match
The New Zealand Sheepherders and Sheik Ali Hasan vs. Kevin Kelly, Buck Zumhofe and Scott Pardee

First Fall-The Sheik and the Sheepherders are a formidable team. Kelly, Zumofe and Pardee are good, but they have a tough task ahead of them. The Sheik and Pardee open the match. Pardee holds his own for a while, but things turn against him. The Sheepherders tag in and out. The action continues until the men from New Zealand catch Pardee with the Double Gutbuster to win the first fall.
Winners-Sheik Ali Hasan and the New Zealand Sheepherders

Don Owen joins Coss and Savage in the Crow's Nest.

Coss, “Welcome Don Owen. Don, we had a great 'Portland Special' and things are getting even hotter. We have a question about Stan Stasiak, Billy Jack says he'll be back. What do you know?”

Owen, “Stan was burned pretty bad, he says he'll be back soon. We have to wait and see. They have 30 days to defend the titles, so we'll wait and see.”

Coss, “We also have some news about a new wrestler coming to Portland.”

Owen, “Bobby Jaggers is coming to the area. He's a Cowboy from Kansas and he'll be a great addition to our roster.”

Coss, “They call Jaggers the 'Hangman', that means he must be pretty tough. Bobby Jaggers will be and Buddy Rose says we are going to see a new member of the Army. You don't want to miss next week's show.”

Second Fall-This is a battle. The foreign team picks up the aggressiveness. Sheik Ali is on the floor brawling with Buck Zumhofe. Referee Sandy Barr begins counting, at 18, Buck Zumhofe dives into the ring. Barr reaches 20 and Hasan is counted out. The match is even.
Winners-Kevin Kelly, Buck Zumhofe and Steve Pardee

Matt Borne is in the Crow's Nest.

Coss, “With us is Matt Borne. Matt, you made the challenge to Rose, but are you really ready to wrestle? What about the cut?”

Borne, “Look, wrestling is a tough business, you wrestle when you're hurt. I've got stitches and they got busted open again tonight, They'll probably get busted open next week, but I don't care! Rose, I showed you I could beat you before and I'll do it again, no mater how much blood I have to lose!”

Coss, “Next week, Borne vs. Rose, Jaggers, Rose's new man, what a night it will be! Now let's see the the third fall of our main event.”

Third Fall-Hasan and the Sheepherderes take the fight to their opponents. It's a brawl, but in the end, Hasan traps Pardee in the Camel Clutch and he submits.
Winners-Sheik Ali Hasan and the New Zealand Sheepherders

Coss and Savage close the show.

Coss, “What a night, and next week looks even better.”

Savage, “Don't miss this one. I think Matt Borne is going to get some revenge against the 'Playboy'. You don't want to miss it.”

OK, I'm already primed for next week to see who the newest member of the army is.

Another great show.  Your pacing and flow to your storylines is awesome, and your writing is top notch.

Still love your work Tom.  Great show.

I am scared for the wrestlers in fans who have to face the brutality of Hassan and The Sheepherders night in and night out. Hope Stasiak is strong enough to face the boys form NZ at full strength. Borne, too. The sister remark caught me off guard. Wonder who Rose and Co. will be bringing in.

Great stuff.
