A tall masked guy wearing nothing but black was hanging out in the villains’ corner of ring 1 before the bell. He refused to speak to the referees but Buddy Rogers and Hulk Hogan vouched for him. The winner in Ring 1 was Hulk Hogan…the winner in Ring 2 was Andre the Giant. When Hogan refused to go over to Ring 2, Andre came back to Ring 1 and the two titans fought it out. Hogan used cheap shots and an illegal choke to wear Andre down. But when Andre’s friend The Mighty Igor came out to ringside to cheer him on, the Giant caught his second wind and battled back. Igor countered Buddy Rogers who barked instructions to Hogan. In the end, when Hogan tried to bodyslam Andre, he was able to lift him up but couldn’t turn him over and fell under the weight. Andre came crashing down on Hogan. The Giant then tossed the hurt Hogan over the top rope for the victory.

Saturday March 9, 1983 Bell 7pm
Hampton Coliseum United States Heavyweight Champion Wahoo McDaniel put his belt on the line against Rowdy Roddy Piper w/Buddy Rogers. Rogers and Piper seemed very confident until the crowd erupted before the match started. Down the aisle walked Magnum Terry Allen, his face scarred but healing from Piper’s brutal attack weeks earlier, wearing cowboy boots, jeans and a WNOR FM99 black T-shirt. Wahoo smiled at Allen’s reception as Piper and Rogers were infuriated.
Piper and Rogers complained to the referee that Allen shouldn’t be out here. The referee questioned Allen who produced a front row seat ticket stub. Sonny Fargo told Rogers and Piper, it was perfectly legit and there was nothing he as a referee, could do about it.
Allen then walked over to ringside announcer Henry “The Bull” Del Toro and asked for the microphone.
“This is my hometown,” Allen said as the five thousand plus cheered in agreement.
“I bought a ticket to see my friend and mentor, OUR United States Heavyweight Champion Wahoo McDaniel, kick the snot out of you, Piper!” Wahoo shook Allen’s hand and smiled again and the fans cheered as the bell rung. Piper kept an eye on Allen as the Tidewater native sat down beside some curly haired kid with a big bag of popcorn to watch the match.
Wahoo started the match with the advantage but Piper got the upper hand by cheating. Allen yelled from ringside about the infraction and the referee made Piper break the hold. Piper jumped out of the ring and went over to Allen who was already on his feet as was the crowd behind him.
The police security stood between the fans and Piper as Roddy got in Allen’s face. Piper heatedly fussed at Terry who stood there, said nothing and smirked at his adversary. Finally, Wahoo walked over to Piper, spun him around and nearly chopped his head off with one chop. Reeling Piper went back into the ring and Wahoo followed. Allen sat back down smiling.
Late in the match, Buddy Rogers handed Piper a foreign object. Piper swung at Wahoo who ducked and Roddy took out Fargo with the punch. Piper was stunned for moment, when Wahoo chopped the object out of his hands. Rogers scrambled at ringside to get the object as he went to reach for it, Allen picked it up. Rogers quickly retreated as Allen stood there holding it.
In the ring, Wahoo was taking it to Piper and leveled him with a double chop off the ropes. Wahoo covered Piper while a weary Fargo reached over and made the three count at 29:44. Allen got on the ring apron and congratulated Wahoo on the win while Rogers grabbed Piper and went back to the dressing room.

Sunday March 10, 1983 Bell 2pm. NWA Television Champion Mark Youngblood put his title on the line against former champion Master G, with Ernie Ladd and Miss Linda. As the introductions were being made, Larry Zbyszko along with his manager Buddy Rogers came down to ringside. Mark Youngblood looked like an animal trapped in a lion’s den. Youngblood expressed his concerned to the referee, but Sonny Fargo said there was nothing he could do nothing about it, unless they interfered.
Ladd and Linda looked extremely happy as G circled Youngblood in the ring confidently. Rogers looked over at Ladd smiling. Ladd looked back with and rubbed his thumb and index fingers together. Youngblood say this and wasn’t amused.
As Youngblood and G locked up, Youngblood hip tossed his opponent to the mat. When G jumped up and went back to face Youngblood, Mark jumped out of the ring away from the villains. G was puzzled. Youngblood teased getting back in, which brought G over to the edge of the ring breaking Fargo’s count. Youngblood backed off and jumped off the ring apron.
“Nine minutes left for the Television Title” Youngblood looked at Zbyszko and smiled as Zbyszko, Rogers, Ladd, and G finally caught on and the crowd laughed! Zbyszko was irate and was hearing it from the fans. One kid, named Mike, who already had a full beard, really let Zbyszko have it from ringside. Zbyszko looked at him and asked,
“Don’t you ever shut up?” Once back in the ring, Youngblood went on the offensive keeping G off balance with hip tosses and dropkicks. When G would get an advantage, Youngblood would scoot out of the ring as the fans cheered.
At about the five minute mark after repeatedly trying to interfere with the match, Fargo sent Zbyszko and Rogers to the back. The fans chanted “Hit the road, Jack!” as the two left.
Meanwhile, Youngblood kept the advantage on G. When G flung Youngblood into the ropes, Linda distracted Fargo and Ladd pulled down the top rope. Youngblood went over the top rope and crashed hard to the floor with a sickening thud. With Fargo distracted, Ladd posted Youngblood busting him open.
Once back in the ring, G went to work battering Youngblood. G went for a flying shoulder block, but Mark ducked and Fargo got the worst end of it. Youngblood and G battled it out until Ladd snuck into the ring with the TV Belt. As Mark turned around Ladd nailed him in the face with the belt sending him crashing to the mat.
A wobbly G went for the pin as Fargo slowly came to his senses. Fargo is barely able to make the count. Youngblood gets a foot on the ropes. Fargo doesn’t see it and counts Youngblood pinned at 9:35…only 25seconds short of the time expiration for the belt.
Ladd grabbed G and Linda grabbed the belt and the three left for the back as Youngblood slowly got to his feet.
